Roberts Shoes

Part A: I went there the first time, and «Ethel» (name changed) was more than glad to help me. She helped me find the shoe I was looking for, and I walked out happy. (Ethel even threw in a free shoe horn!)
Part B: Nearly a week later, when I went to return my shoes, I found out 2 things. First, they don’t do refunds — exchange or in-​store credit only. (Kind of a bummer — but there is a big sign over the counter that says it clearly.) Secondly, the entire sales staff works on commission. As I handed the receipt to the lady, she said (aloud) «Oh, this is Ethel’s sale.» She then told me that I was free to look around for another pair, but made it abundantly clear from her body language that she wasn’t about to help me look. And she didn’t. I looked around the store for 30 minutes, and unless I walked back to the counter to ask her a question, she didn’t help at all.
To sum it up — they have a decent selection, especially if you have a hard-​to-​find size. The reason for the 2-​star review is that they don’t do refunds, and the lack of customer service unless you talk to the person «who’s sale it is.»
