Taqueria B is Bandidos now. The old salsas are gone. The avocado margaritas are gone. They now use sweet and sour mix in all their margaritas(unless you ask them not to). The pinto beans are gone. Almost all of the Taqueria B employees are gone. The only reason my rating is two instead of one stars is that our server was nice, and tried to be accommodating. They can say what they want, but this is a straight up Bandidos now. Of course the place is busier than ever now. This is why we, in Ft Wayne, can’t have nice things. Wont be back.

We went to dinner — unfortunately the menu has changed from Taqueria B and has incorporated some of Bandidos menu. Our waiter indicated the change started this week. Disappointing! Taqueria B had fresh food, fresh hot tortillas and a great«make it your way» type of menu. Some of the food quality has changed — queso is a clumpy mess, the pintos are now refried beans, the tortillas are not as fresh. Some items were removed — for example, the grill plate. Now they have fajitas. I didn’t care for Bandidos fajitas before, nor now under the new name. The service(kitchen) was very slow. You now get free chips and salsa as you wait. That was a good thing, since it took a bit for the food.

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this place since I’m not a fan of Bandido’s restaurants. To start, my husband and I shared guacamole + chips, which was delicious and more cool/refreshing than spicy. We also split a «mas» size chicken quesadilla on mesquite tortillas and couldn’t believe how big it was! We were both stuffed. What really sold me on this place was their margaritas. When the server told me they make all of their drinks with freshly squeezed juice instead of mixes, I was SOLD. I can’t wait to try more flavors :) The restaurant was super clean and really bright and fresh-looking. Not at all what I expected, based on its unassuming exterior. Our server was really helpful, we asked her a ton of questions about the menu and she was able to answer all of them. PS — we brought my 5 month old son with us and he fit right in! It’s a very family-friendly place.

I was overall quite pleased with my dinner experience at Taquera B. After reading some very positive and some not so great reviews, I didn’t know what to expect. The atmosphere was cool. Very industrial with an open kitchen, simple and modern. The bar offers a phenomenal selection of craft beers and unique house made margarita flavors. You can order beer or margarita flights. It was fun to try different flavors from avocado to jalapeño. To me, the jalapeño was superior to the rest. Refreshing, tart, sweet and a nice spicy kick. The avocado, pineapple and lime all tasted the same. They also could have used more tequila, a little too weakly prepared. That being said, I am still craving the jalapeño Margarita. It was that good. The beer and Margarita flights are served in generous size ball jars, which made for a nice presentation. The food concept is basically build your salad, burrito, tacos, etc… The ingredients are all fresh and it allows you to be creative or simple appealing to whatever the individual prefers. The chips and salsa were fine. The salsa was a tad on the spicy side for mild. The green salsa was good if you like very spicy salsa. The chips and salsa are not complimentary, but fortunately kids always eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Overall, a nice experience.

Decided to try this place out and was blown away. I loved the open atmosphere because I’m not a fan of stuffy closed in restaurants. The staff was very nice and we were seated immediately. I really like the menu concept. You pick the base item and get it made exactly like you want to so you don’t have to bother with substitutions or asking for certain items to be taken off. There are a lot of options too. The chips and salsa were delicious as was the guacamole, although for us it needed salt. My absolute favorite thing so far is the sweet chorizo. For me, it is heavenly. I’ve had the mesquite quesadilla with chorizo and the tacos with chicken. They have options for tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and other things that I cannot recall. Can’t wait to try more.

So, this is supposed to be the new wave of Bandidos. I ordered a burrito, and taco. The burrito was nothing special. It was fine, but there was nothing to it. The taco was really good though. I created my own upswing fajita steak, caramelized onions, cilantro and pico de galo. That was the best thing I ate. I will say the salsa was tasty as well, but I can not remember is that is orders as a «appetizer» or it it came complimentary. The waitress appeared to be annoyed that she is working. I would be willing to go again, but I wouldn’t be running over asap just for a taco.

I rate this 3 stars because it was okay. The chips they had served us were stale and they were not fresh. They also charge you for extra anything. You have to pay for chips and salsa unlike other Mexican places. Etx. If you want an actual sit down dinner this isn’t the place to go. Or if you’re just looking for a place to go for tacos. The tacos are $ 3 a piece. It has a warehouse feel or aka like Taco Bell.

We decided to stop in on a Sunday for lunch. As we walked in, we noticed the restaurant had a definite warehouse feel to it, but not in a hip way. You can see directly into the kitchen, and the view is pretty unappealing. All you notice is cluttered shelving. You cannot actually see what the cooks are preparing. We were taken to a table, and handed menus. No one explained the menu, or let us know we could have ordered before sitting down. Service was ok, but spotty. We were very surprised to find out chips are not free like they are at every other sit-down Mexican restaurant in town. We ordered the grill plate, which sounded alot like fajitas. The food was average at best. The chicken was bland. One of the choices you had was whether or not you wanted queso or salsa. We chose salsa, and it came not on the side, but dumped all over the chicken. The rice had no flavor, and they don’t have refried beans. The tortillas that came with the meal were the giant burrito size, which are tough to handle. We asked, and they did bring us taco size. Our waitress then told us we could have just cut up the big ones and used those. Lastly, the food is over priced. The large grill plate cost over $ 10, and it really wasn’t that much food. They charged an extra $ 2 for jalepenos, and $ 2.50 for a soda. Lunch for the two of us came to over $ 30 with tax. Payment is awkward. You pay the waitress at the table on a small electronic device, which is fine, but then the server stands there watching while you type in the tip. All things considered, we really couldn’t come up with a reason to go back.

Honestly this is one of the freshest menus in town. Fresh ideas, fresh tasting ingredients, and fresh spin on Mexican food.

Didn’t know what to expect, but this wasn’t it. Great atmosphere, reasonable price, and excellent food. Ice cold drinks, a great selection of beer on draft. KIDSEATFREEEVERYDAY. Fort Wayne already had a great selection of casual Mexican, and Taqueria B makes it more difficult to choose than ever. I love it.

The food was pretty underwhelming. The first bowl of chips we were served were stale. We had to ask for fresh chips. The salsa was fresh made but really bland. I firmly believe if you are going to charge for chips and salsa they better be worth eating! That really wasn’t the case here. The guacamole was a huge disappointment. It was basically just cut up avocados. It did not contain enough supporting ingredients such as cilantro, tomatoes, jalapeño, lime, anything really! My daughter and I both had the pork carnitas tacos. The corn tortillas were fresh and nice. The pork was a bit dried out and flavorless. Yet another disappointment considering it was the special of the day. My husband had the ground beef nachos which was decent. There are far better Mexican restaurants in town. So we likely will not return.

It is a decorated warehouse type setting? You have to pay $ 3 for the chips and salsa? The food is not very good, especially for the price. I just can’t figure out what these people are trying to do here. Fine, experiment with a new resturant«formula» but don’t charge me an arm and a leg and tell me it is worth it because it is fresh. If you are going through the extra effort to use fresh ingredients etc. then make the food taste good. I felt profoundly taken advantage of, I would have left a quarter of the way through the meal telling the manager I was not paying, but the server was very good and I did not want to do that to her. Meal and a drink was almost $ 20. Give me a break.

The style of the menu was confusing and not right for someone as indecisive as me. It was written in a «build your own meal» style. I like a description of the meal I’m getting and this restaurant did not provide that. So I went with a safe bet. A shredded chicken salad. Should be simple. Wrong. The shredded chicken smelled, looked and tasted like cat food. It was disgusting. The chips and salsa are not complementary. We ordered some and the chips tasted like bagged chips and the salsa was lacking any flavor. I can tell you I willl never go back there again.

On my quest for the perfect local Taco Tuesday guide, I finally made my way out to Taqueria B. I’m glad I did. Two reasons: I was really hungry, having forgotten to eat breakfast this morning, and now I have experienced enough that I don’t have to go back again. The salsa is usually a great indicator of how well a restaurants food is going to be, at least for me, but in this case, I felt like I had ventured down the rabbit hole. The«tacos» they serve are made with 10 inch homemade tortillas. Thumbs up for the homemade, thumbs way down for the 10 inches(are my fingers really typing that out?). In trying to be different, Taqueria B has made the same mistakes as most failing Mexican food restaurants in the mid-west-they’ve left out the key points of authenticity that Mexican fare connoisseurs such as myself consider vital components(fresh onions and cilantro on a tiny hand hold-able tortilla being a good place to start). They may be a hit for a little bit due to the fact that they are peddling fresh ingredients and a semi-extensive tequila menu, but like all smoke screens, this one too will fade, leaving behind the shell of just another«Americanized» Mexican food experience.

It’s Banditos, but more expensive. Home made tortillas are good. But basically 4 tacos after tip cost $ 40. Tip is order off the taco menu if you eat here. 2 big ass tacos Will run you $ 10. The off the grill option will run you $ 12 and it’s the same Damn thing. Chips and salsa are $ 3, which is ridiculous. Its American Mexican food and it mediocre at best. Some people might like this kind of food but I don’t like American Mexican. Service was good though and the decors nice. But for me I can find better Mexican for cheaper, I won’t be back

The first thing we noticed when approaching Taqueria B was a window that looks straight into the kitchen. Great idea — bad execution. You cannot really see the staff doing anything unless you are standing right there staring in, but what you do notice is containers and bins sitting on the floor and a counter shelf which is not very appealing. We walked in and were greeted promptly, but we had to ask how the place worked. Basically you can order at the server station and sit down, or be seated and a server will take your order. Very confusing for first-timers. We were seated and the first thing that strikes me as funny for a sit down Mexican place is that they charge for chips & salsa — $ 3 dollars to be exact. No other sit down Mexican place in town does this — fast food places do. Again very confusing. My wife asked the waitress if they had corn tortillas — answer«she wasn’t sure but would ask.» Eventually she came back and said«no.» We asked if the salad came with the meat and lettuce mixed together or on top — answer«uh she wasn’t sure, but it would depend on who was making it in the kitchen.» We asked the difference in the large vs. small sizes of the entrees — she said«the large was almost twice as big.» Unfortunately this was not exactly true. In the time this was all happening a younger couple was seated at a table near us, they looked at the menus and promptly got up and left. We for a second thought of paying for our drink and doing the same, but didn’t. The menu is similar to Chipotle or Salsa Grille in that you choose burrito, tacos, salad, nachos, etc. then have various veggies and sauces added to create your own entrée. The main claim of Taqueria B is that everything is homemade, but things are really expensive. Most large entrees are $ 10, sodas are a ridiculous $ 2.50, and lots of things are extra cost. The atmosphere is very industrial. Concrete floors, screaming red walls, standard smallish uncomfortable chairs, and really high ceilings. Not a very warm or friendly environment to enjoy a meal. The food was OK. The salad was mostly romaine lettuce, with very little beans or meat. It is either served in a bowl, or on a large soft tortilla — in a bowl. Again very confusing, given that most salads served with a tortilla are made with a bowl-shaped crunchy tortilla not a soft shell. The waitress forgot the ranch dressing and did not check back to see if the food was good. We had to flag her down. In fact another waiter was actually more helpful that our waitress by filling drinks and cleaning dirty dishes. The nachos tasted good, but the fajita chicken(+$ 1 up charge) was cut in really small cubes and was non-existent similar to the ridiculously small chopped green peppers. The homemade pinto beans tasted good, but there was not enough of them to make a difference. We also very much disliked the method of payment. Hey I get the need for technological improvements, but manually inputting a credit charge into a phone-like device that is transmitted wirelessly seems to me a bit scary. I could trust it if I set up the security, but to trust the folks that have made all of the above mentioned poor decisions about this restaurant is not good. Finally I DONOT like the idea that a server is going to stand over my shoulder while I input a tip into this same device. Overall we did not like this place. Taqueria B is too confusing and really does not know whether it wants to be a fast food Mexican place like Salsa Grill or Chipotle, or a sit sown Mexican place like Cebolla’s. The simple fact is that they are not nearly as good as either of these types of places, and quite frankly are too expensive. The homemade aspect of their food is admirable, but until they get the other problems fixed we will not be back because there are too many other places in town that do a much better job at a cheaper price — and hey they don’t charge for the chips!

Reasons why I like a restaurant… Good Food Good Service and Pepsi This restaurant hit it all!!! The food was delicious. When I eat at a Mexican restaurant I usually leave the rice and beans on the plate, but I ate them too. The margaritas, the best, I repeat THEBEST I have ever had. I don’t have any bad things to say. Plus they have PEPSI!!!

Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Fort Wayne. Sat at the bar and was greeted by a very friendly bartender who explained the restaurant’s concept: no freezers or fryers; everything made fresh; everything transparent. Wow. Did it show. I started with a margarita that she made right there. It was all fresh ingredients and was easily one of the best margaritas I have ever tasted. The beer selection is phenomenal with an emphasis on regional beers on tap. I was glad to see Upland Wheat on tap(which I enjoyed after my margarita). For an appetizer I ordered some chips, queso, and salsa. The white queso was phenomenal with strings of melted jack cheese(which is grated in house). The salsa was wonderful. Freshness matters with salsa and it had a great onion, cilantro, and tomato flavor with a little kick. Everything is build-your-own style and the bartender was very helpful in explaining all of the options. Pretty much anything you could want you could get(enchilada sauce, queso, salsa, any veggie). I went with the chicken burrito. It was a huge portion and had an amazing flavor. The salsa, queso, and red enchilada sauce were the perfect amount as to not be overpowering. It worked really well. I like the ordering concept — this isn’t exactly a full blown sit down/full service restaurant, but more of a hybrid fast-casual/sit-down with a full bar. Not sure how you can lower the restaurant’s rating if you don’t like the concept(that’s like removing a star for a steakhouse because you can’t order ahead of time from a video menu board with pictures) Again, I keep coming back to the freshness(even the tortillas are made in the front window) and the transparency. It goes a VERY long way with me when my food’s ingredients are made daily and out in the open(the menu explains where all ingredients come from). The owner is always visible and appreciates honest feedback and suggestions. You can tell they have nothing to hide.

Had the Nachos & they were very good. Ordered the large size which could have easily feed two. I like that all the menu items are build your own. You can’t go wrong with that & all the ingredients are fresh! The guacamole was very good. Great beer selection too. I didn’t try a hand poured margarita this visit but will be back soon to try one. Not a big fan of ordering then finding a table prefer having my order taken by a server but that was easily solved by sitting at the bar. Service was decent and the food arrived very fast.
