The Philmore On Broadway

This is a beautiful building, but the owner can’t decide if he is running a bar, a concert venue, or a rental facility. He attempted all three on the night of 1−29−16 with less than desirable results.
We arrived to see a concert featuring Vance Gilbert. There is a small stage and an area with tables. This section is separated from the bar by a four foot divider. There is also a balcony that is open at the front. A private party was in the balcony and many of these people were down at the bar. All of those in the private party were talking during the entire concert. I can’t fault the party goers, but many of the concert attendees carried on loud conversations as well. While the interior is well designed acoustically for music, it also echoes any voices. When the artist played and sang, the conversation volume ratcheted up. Multiple complaints (from several people) to the owner were never addressed. The artist made several requests as well. The owner turned his head and walked away when I asked him to address the noise issue. Not only did he not deal with the noise, he actively participated and initiated conversations with guests during the performance. This is our second visit to the Philmore on Broadway and probably our last.

The Philmore on Broadway was the venue for our entire wedding, and it was simply perfect!!! The space is absolutely stunning! There is a private room that myself and my bridesmaids used to get ready, and my husband had space off of the corner of the stage for he and his groomsmen to hang out in. The staff worked with me to ensure every detail was perfect. Since it poured rain the entire day, our plans for pictures in the park had to be switched to staying at the Philmore and I think the pictures are better than anything we would have gotten at the park. Our guests raved about the lounge areas, having everything in one spot, as well as top notch catering from The Oyster bar (one of the approved caters). Who wouldn’t want to get married on the stage of a 102 year old theater with the marquee lit up customized for you?

The Philmore on Broadway is a gem in the city of Fort Wayne. The Art Deco style theater is great for weddings, corporate events, music or just a night on the town.
Conveniently located five minutes from Downtown and always there for whatever your event needs may be.
The food is fresh and unique as is their spin on themed events. They are a very small business, but always accomplishing big things!
