Great food and great service! My favorite place in town! The only complaint is how expensive they are, but its still worth it’ every once in a while. Lunch is probably the best time to go.

Yen Ching still has the best egg rolls, crab rangoon, and fried rice in town. In many other ways, unfortunately, they’ve fallen behind the times and their competition.
The prices for dinner are crazy– we’re looking at $ 16+ for entrees alone. Relative to the competition, considering portion size, this is really expensive. If the food were markedly better maybe they could justify the price, but it isn’t– with the exceptions noted above, the food is bland and uninspiring. Lacking in salt, lacking in seasoning; and maybe not coincidentally, their clientele is on the «older» end of the spectrum. The quality of the meat isn’t especially great either.
Décor is also getting very dated– particularly the oddly green booths. The restaurant could use a makeover.
Service is not good– the food comes quickly enough, but the waitstaff is not friendly or enthusiastic.
To compete with modern restaurants like Wu’s, or cheaper take-​aways like New Hong Kong or China Palace, Yen Ching needs to improve the flavor and lower the price. There are still a few excellent dishes on the menu, but not enough.

Stopped in here for the first time today for lunch and had the sesame chicken lunch special which included fried rice and soup. I have heard a lot about this place and now I see why. Very good food and surprising portion amount for a lunch special. Everything about it was great and the atmosphere of this place is very calm and relaxing.

A nice surprise. We stopped in near closing time and our experience was A+. Waiter very attentive and the food perfectly done. We loved their soups and spring roll too!

The food here is delicious! They serve appetizers in a FIRE POT! Play with fire while you eat, umm YES PLEASE! There is never any wait for a table, just walk in and sit down. Service is excellent. I am really surprised why more people do not eat here, it is one of my favorite places!
Atmosphere is a little dated and it smells like smoke inside.

A few years ago this was a staple of our family, especially during the holidays. Since then the food quality has degraded a bit too much for frequent indulgences. But if you’re craving something of the sort on the Southwest side of Fort Wayne, it can be a decent meal. Don’t put any faith into reheating anything though, it just won’t happen.

The food isn’t bad, but nothing extraordinary. The prices are insane though. Roughly twice the price of other local places. This was for takeout. My jaw dropped when I paid. The only pro is that it’s open on Sunday. I will look for other places on Sunday when my normal, awesome place is closed.

One of the best dining establishments in Fort Wayne. The family that owns it is extremely nice and the food is delicious! Definitely a must if you’re in the mood for some Chinese.

We frequent this establishment fairly often. The I usually have the almond chicken while my wife orders sweet and sour pork. The quality of the food is quite good and the wait staff is quite attentive. Cost is reasonable too.

One of our favorite places to take out of town guests. First class Chinese place that is not a buffet. Dinner meals are large portions. The wait staff is a mixture of excellent and subpar.
