Alliance Christian Academy and Little Sprouts

My family looked into this program for our older children a few years ago. It had recently moved from another church to a different church location. We did not enroll our children at that time. Later, we moved near this preschool/​school and decided to enroll a child in the preschool program. We paid $ 250 in supply and registration fees early in 2012. A few months later, the decision was made by the school to relocate again to another facility, which was a nearby rental home with a bunch of portables behind it. We were never informed of this move in email, by phone or by letter. We were never invited to attend any informational meeting. When we discovered the move a month before school started in 2012, we withdrew our son for health and safety reasons. This new location was also not suitable for our child who has sensory integration issues.
We asked repeatedly for our money back since our child would have attended Little Sprouts had the program not moved. Furthermore, we would not have signed him up if we were ever informed of the impending move. We were told the money was «non-​refundable» but that we could appeal to the board. We were only allowed to email the board president who was slow to reply. We were never allowed to speak to the board as a whole. After two months of repeated emails, were finally offered half of our money back. This is unfair under the circumstances and poor business practice, but taking it to court would cost more time and money.
Friends whose children attend this program told us repeatedly that the teachers are great, but the administration leaves a lot to be desired and communication is poor. We experienced this first hand and are thankful that we found a more suitable, professional, Christian program for our son. Just wish we would have known before we lost $ 125 and had to deal with such a ridiculous mess.
