Myself & a friend got great care and had fun with Christian. He set us up with boards and showed us what to do and in 5 mins, we were paddling. We had a blast. He made it comfortable for us and we didn’t feel embarrassed Plus it’s a quiet little cove on The Trinity River so no waves or lots of traffic. Perfect place to learn. ANYONECANDOTHIS. Doesn’t matter what your age or physique-it’s that easy. I totally recommend Christian & Jordan for teaching anyone the love of paddle boarding.

Such a pleasure in the middle of cow-town. We spent a very nice Saturday morning on the Trinity. Saw some creatures in the water, sucked some sun, and had quality time with the kids. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, the kayaks and canoes were clean and in a very good condition. There’s also a comfortable parking(on the weekend — I’m not sure about weekday) and easy access from Downtown FW. I think their prices are very reasonable, and would recommended it to anyone for exercise or just a relaxed, or romantic time on the river. we did it as a family and off course it became a mean competition, but it didn’t take off the joy and was a wonderful justification for the mean lunch we had at downtown FW later on.

I had a terrific time sorting out a few things on the water recently: among them, the idea that though I’ve not particularly paid attention to how much running I do lo these past few years(and hence the sea-worthiness of my legs) and, well, that I’d not given a shot to what the kids lump in as ‘surfing’ or in generous cases ‘learning to stand up in unfamiliar environs’(and let’s be honest: what kid talks like that); point is, there’s a new water-forward and very cool pursuit happening on Fort Worth’s side of the Trinity, in the shadow of the Panther Island Pavilion, and that would be Aloha Paddleboards. And to be clear: it’s not surfing, of course, but it happens on an oversized board on water you have access to, and, to be sure: it’s not dull. They do classes and lessons and all the things that you might figure you’d see, but ultimately among my stop the thing I found most fun was just getting a little out of my typical comfort zone and experiencing some time on the water, getting away from watching the clock and devolving into some exercise and conversation. The city’s been building out some adjoining facilities, and from the recent looks of things those are most but not all of the way there yet; the end result should happen soon and be in place for the long haul shortly. But in the end, regardless, based on my take, I’m super jazzed that Funkytown’s synthesizing the exercise movement here inot new and original pursuits. Here’s to sticking that first oar in!
