Boon-Docks at Eagle Mountain Marina

I have to wonder about a place that allows a patron to bring their small child in to the bar and leave her unsupervised. This little girl could not have been more than 5 or 6 and when I left at midnight on a Saturday, she was still running around. At first, I thought she was with someone at the birthday party but as she continually asked people for money, we realized her mother (or guardian) was either at the bar drinking or outside smoking and drinking. God only knows how they were going to get home, whenever they did eventually leave. It was extremely uncomfortable for the rest of us in the bar. I would think the management would have a problem with that, but apparently not.
Also, be careful if you order chicken strips. A girl at our table found feathers in hers. She would have told the waitress, but the waitress never came back to the table. I think they were short staffed, but they knew we were bringing a large party in so I would have thought they would plan appropriately.
It sounds like this place gets by on their location and by booking decent concerts. Otherwise, I cannot understand why anyone would bother going there.

We saw Zane Williams perform at Boon-​Docks last night. Probably the best entertainer I’ve seen. One awesome performance!!!
My son had a burger and it was exceptionally good. We got chips and salsa, big pretzel, and mozzarella bites. The appetizers were ok. Nothing to write home to mom about. Beer was cold!!! Overall a fun and safe place. I will defiantly go back.

We docked at 1 of 4 slips just outside the gate of the outdoor stage on saturday. The bouncers harassed us four separate times, once to insist we pay a $ 10 cover, once to wear shoes and a shirt inside, once to inform us no dogs, and finally that we could not order food on the boat. We didn’t even try to go inside! We were just hanging out… So we backed away 10 feet and dropped anchor and we will never be back…

When I showed up the Cortese slips for boats were full then the service eventually drove all of the boaters away it was the worst experience I have had at a Texas country place 95.9 should be embarrassed to support a place with such bad service.

I have a slip at Eagle Mountain Marina, which is co-​located with Boondocks, and I still would not recommend this place for anything. The are not friendly. The servers and staff are rude, unhelpful, and stuck up. The atmosphere that they create is horrible and no one goes there because of it.

Service on Saturday nights is awful. Third Saturday here and same result each time. Food takes an hour and you usually give up on waitresses and stand in line at the bar for drinks. Waitress was in tears because management won’t hire enough people. Pretty pathetic.

Boon Docks is a bit hard to find if you’re driving here. So I’d do research before coming here because if you miss it, it’s a big U turn. There was also a ton of construction going on around here, so it was a huge pain in the a$$. Arriving by boat seemed pretty easy and there is a marina on the other side of this restaurant.
If you walk in the front of the restaurant, there’s a sign that says you have to wait to be seated. Literally, no one around in sight. We opted to seat ourselves so that we wouldn’t have to WAIT FOR FOREVER. Upon reflection, this was an early indicator to the service that eventually was provided here. We sit ourselves on the patio and the waitresses say hi as we walked by. They clearly saw us go to an open table and for 15 minutes no one comes to get our orders or anything. We opt to go to the bar so that we could at least get our drinks. Bartender is just standing around and IGNORES US. We try to get his attention and nothing. We decided to ask a waitress if she can help us. She tells us yes if we sit in her section… Her section was outside on the patio at the exact table we had previously been sitting. TERRIBLE SERVICE! If it wasn’t for the fact that my friend and I were the only two Asians there and that I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, I’d think they were ignoring us on purpose! Since it was about 30 minutes after our arrival, and we arrived hungry, we decided to just have drinks and an appetizer to chat and enjoy the view. We assumed the one appetizer would also not take forever to get to us. (We thought the view was going to be better.) In reality from the patio, you’re staring at the boats and can’t see anything else as it’s in a cove of the lake, NO SCENERY. The water was disgustingly stagnant and SMELLED TERRIBLY. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
Additionally, someone had left their dogs tied in the parking lot which was pretty sad to see. Then they had to announce that whoever left their dogs, needed to go get them before animal control arrived. Glad to see the restaurant was doing something about it, but we were told it happens often. Then we see the idiot who did that, return to the restaurant on the patio with the dogs and everyone was staring at him. Awkward.

If you want to wait over an hour for sub par bar food then this is your place. Terrible, terrible management.

Service was good not great. Our food was served in a timely manner. I had fried shrimp and it was delicious. I would go again if I was out on the lake but wouldn’t make the trip out just to eat there.

HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY! Bartender took 15 minutes to serve two beers and take our food order!!! After still waiting over an hour for our food (hamburgers) we told the bartender and Manager to forget about the food, we would pay for our drinks and leave. Five minutes later still waiting on the tab, the food comes. We reiterated, we no longer want the food, this has been a very bad experience and wanted to pay the tab for our drinks and leave. The bartender gave me the tab for the drinks and the food. My husband went to speak to the Manager about the tab, the Manager, in turn, was rude and intimidating. He «blamed» it on the kitchen staff not being able to service this «large» crowd. It wasn’t crowded. He said he would «comp» our food and just leave the beer on the tab. Our Credit Card has been charged for the full amount, both food and drink).
Side Note, after arriving at the restaurant, we were looking forward to our afternoon. With the view and scenery — this was going to be a fun afternoon. Somehow, the splendor of the lake lost its appeal after going to Boondocks.

Hang out with friends and family. Live bands most weekends and a fun, friendly wait staff.

Good food. Beer wasn’t as cold as I like it but seems like a good place to hang out if you like to be there for 95.9 show on Sunday afternoon.

I have been here twice and both times the service has been horrible! It has taken 2 hours to get our food! They never did find us menus! We had to go find our own menu, she never refilled drinks, we never got our appetizers. We ended up leaving and never getting our food!

Great service but no drink menu. You’re a bar on a lake, a few specialty drinks wouldn’t hurt.

Had a horrible experience. Was told no draft beer upstairs, yet can serve downstairs and not carry up?
Ordered food, only to be told AFTER the fact that didn’t have onion rings, bacon, or shrimp. In fact, food was brought out, minus the shrimp that ordered, and THEN was told of the food that was out.
Food that was delivered was bland. No flavor. Burger was subpar. Not sure how voted best burger on the lake.

I’m normally not a negative reviewer… However I have no other choice today.
The concept of this restaurant is great, but they just can’t deliver. The service is slow and not very consistent. After getting my order wrong the first them, they brought me another order of chicken fried chicken. I cut in to it to only find that it was RAW. I didn’t even ask for another, at that point I just wanted to leave. Picture is included to show just how raw the chicken was.

Went here for a Mike Ryan concert. Setting is great, music was great. Our waitress messed up our bill and charged me 3 times so that was very upsetting. I also have not fully cleared that up and its been 3 days. 2 things I stress about going here: Don’t start a tab! (pay cash) and if you drink, bring a sober driver!!! CABS DO NOT COME HERE. We got stranded here, thinking we could take a cab. Cabs will not come out to this establishment (I tried over and over) and you will never be able to find an Über. I would have given this place 5 stars but the waitress (although really friendly) messed up a really simple bar tab. Something that was 100 dollars, ended up costing me 250.

Great view of the lake. This is not a place for dining as food is ok and takes forever. This is not the place to go for a quick bite to eat or if you are in a rush… their service from order to table can be 15 – 45 minutes.
If you want to have a drink and hang out with live music. This is the place. The live bands they bring in are good for Texas Country.
We wish their service and food was better as we would go more. We tried 3 times and seems to be the same every time. We go for a cold beverage and skip the food.

Warning to those wanting to visit Boondocks on Eagle Mountain Lake for dinner… DON’T. If you get a scrawny guy named Tim as your waiter… RUN. (after last night I’d hope he is unemployed.)
After delivering incorrect drinks (He couldn’t tell a Malibu Punch from a Cape Cod), unable to keep our glasses full (we had to get his attention every time we needed another drink), to bringing out our appetizers after an hour & a half (after asking over and over) and then brought out the wrong ones.
We thought we could finally eat when he brought us the wrong food from another table, food finally came out… wrong and chips stale. After two hours, that was it.
Complained to waiter thru the night and got endless excuses from there was 900 people there that night (WRONG) to the fact that he hadn’t eaten since 11am. Oh, he said he was having an emotional day! Complained to manager, but the staff is only as good as the manager. They did comp our food but I guarantee, we weren’t going to pay regardless.
We left with the feeling that if you have all night to stay there & just want drinks, this is the place for you. (Your best bet is to order straight from the bar)
We will eat at The Spot next time!!!

Food was great and service was awesome! We went to see Cody Canada and The Departed on Friday night. Had a table right up front. Our waitress Holly was very attentive and never let us down. Staff was friendly. We had chicken-​fried bacon and it was amazing! My husband ordered us a Philly cheese steak to share and it was very good. It came with some of the best onion rings I’ve had in a while. Will definitely be going back often!
