Nothing was really«bad» here but nothing super special either. Came on a Saturday night last week with reservations for 6 and we got seated quickly. Because there were several large parties, we constantly had to keep asking for drink refills and more salsa — the waiter was hardly to be found. Ordered the Enchiladas Veracruz(which I had once before) and the meat came out super pink. After sending it back they assured me it was just the tomato sauce it was cooked in, so I ate it without issues. The food was pretty good, drinks a little sour and light on the alcohol. The environment is good but I think they need more server so tables don’t have to keep asking whoever walks by for more service.

It’s a Thursday night and nobody is in the restaurant. Strategically the waiters place all of the diners in the same corner. Five girls sit, waiting for their sixth friend, as Miguel attentively asks if they are ready to order. They explain the situation — that they are waiting for a friend — and then he disappears… After receiving our waters and chips, our friend arrived and we were ready to dine. But, nobody was ready to serve us. Tick tock… eventually Miguel returns and we order. *ONEHOURLATER* the food arrives. I will say we were in good company so the wait was not treacherously unentertaining, but unexpectedly long to say the least. My Avocado Enchiladas were pretty mediocre, honestly I cannot say anything good or bad about them because they were just… food. Our waiter disappeared again, and it was almost impossible to get him to bring our checks. I wouldn’t have had a problem not paying for the terrible service and boring food, but I think they call that«stealing». Next time I want Mexican food I’ll just go to Taco Bell.

The food is decent. Good chips, salsa, and queso. I got the Camaron Poblano Asada. Steak wrapped around a poblano pepper which was stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, shrimp, and onions. Service was terrible. Drinks ignored and only were filled when we got the bill. Waiter only came by to take order and bring bill. There are a lot better options downtown, but my husband wondered why we haven’t been back in 8 years. the service. Yet, most reviews raves of the service.

Let’s put it simple and short. Don’t go here you will get sick, have a terrible bland meal, and poor service. My family and I went Sunday and are literally all sick to the core. We all are suffering diarrhea, chills, stomach issues and two of us puked the night of the dinner. There is something seriously wrong with their health code and standards. Avoid at all costs unless you wanna be writing a Unilocal review at 12am sick as a dog…

I’d like to publicly apologize to Cantina Laredo for getting a nosebleed and having to throw away one of the linen napkins after getting fluid everywhere. I swear, I have no idea why that happened, except that the room was a little warm. It used to happen to me twice a week in seventh grade Spanish class, and that room was also surprisingly toasty. Other than the temperature, Cantina Laredo has nothing in common with mean Mrs. Hinojosa’s class. For one thing, Cantina Laredo does an amazing table-side guacamole. There’s a reason every other Unilocaler has mentioned it– it’s GREAT and HUGE. Grace D. and I shared an order of fajitas and a large margarita, since it was the middle of the afternoon. It was the perfect portion of food and an awesome strength of buzz. Because it was later in the day, we were the only people in the dining room– which is good, considering the aforementioned nose sitch. Our waiter was super nice as I ran out of the room, and he even comped the margarita in sympathy. So gracias, CT, for the perfectly tender fajitas, the table-side guac, the marg, and for never yelling at me for not knowing how to conjugate estar vs ser. (Cantina Laredo: 1, Mrs. Hinojosa: Zilch.)

Can’t beat free table side guac! Get all of the add ins. Had the briskest sopas — good but tasted the corn more than the brisket :(. Service was awesome.

What a great date night! Table side guacamole and the ceviche was out of this world. Pedro was awesome. But the high light of the night was seeing an old friend Tony. The ginger mint margarita hit the spot. Cheers!

Cantina Laredo located in downtown Ft Worth has great food, I’m talking the food was so good that I found myself wanting to invite myself to try the entrees of the two elderly ladies siting next to me… However, after elderly lady # 2 keep«mean mugging me» I thought better of it. But In all seriousness Unilocalers the food and ambiance were 5 star, no doubt about it. A good time to be had by all. Peace!

So my very first complaint is that on my initial visit here, I had an allergic reaction. They offer some seafood items and I have a seafood allergy, fresh water/salt water/whatever can’t have it. I always tell restaurants due to possibility of cross contamination and all of that. Well I get my entrée(which I don’t even remember now) and I have an allergic reaction. Start getting splotchy and all that not good stuff. I tell the waiter who then goes to get a manager. The manager proceeds to tell me there is no way there could have been cross contamination. So uh… was he calling me a liar?! I was clearly not happy. I couldn’t finish my meal and they did not even comp. anything. I did not expect them to comp. the entire meal, but I hate two bites of my entrée before it went in the trash. He didn’t even offer to remake the dish under supervision(which I’ve experienced elsewhere). My initial experience is why I give it two(2) stars and why on my second and last trip, I only returned for drinks and guacamole. Guacamole made table side. Another complaint, they only offer table side guacamole. I get that this place is kind of upscale-y but $ 12 for a very normal guacamole is kind of ridic(ulous). Now if they set the guacamole on fire or had their own special recipe that would be a different story. But I suffice and will admit, despite the average guacamole it was still good.(I love guacamole!) I asked for extra lime though. I forgot to mention, by «average» and«normal» guacamole I mean it had avocados, onions, tomato, cilantro, and a little lime. No unexpected ingredients. I got a peach margarita which was some«skinny» drink of theirs. The exact name escapes me now. It was good but not much peach flavoring and it came over ice. I had wanted it frozen. but I guess maybe it can’t come that way? I have no idea. Their PATIOISGREAT though! You are in downtown and there are birds that you can feed chip crumbs too. They have large umbrellas to shield the sun. The customer service here is quite good as well. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but not in an annoying way.

Very good food and service was excellent. Price was reasonable for our party of 6 business people. Menu was one of the best. Their new mole chicken dish was great.

We were here for lunch with 4 adults and a child. Our service was excellent and our waiter paid special attention to the youngster with us in order to make sure he got an order that would make him happy. We all had various dishes that were very good and original tasting. It was nice that they validated valet street parking. We are not in Fort Worth often but I would certainly return here for another tasty meal.

This restaurant is in a great location, simple walking distance off of the Sundance Square. I was impressed with the amount of selections for booths here, you do not have to sit at a table unless you want to. I got a coupon for a free guacamole for checking in as a Unilocal elite and they honored the coupon without a blink of an eye. Getting the guacamole is a wonderful ceremony in its self, since they come to your table and expertly slice, dice, mash, smash and smush avocado, tomato, onion, jalapeño and other assorted delicious goodness into a beautiful footed stoneware bowl of absolute yum. Pure yum. My table of four demolished it within 10 minutes, no regrets, no shame, would do it again in a heartbeat. It was also a Thursday, which meant that it was ladies night! We got four dollar margaritas, but these margaritas tasted like they were top shelf, easily could’ve cost $ 12 at a high-end bar. But the atmosphere of this place feels like a high-end bar; the lighting is that just perfect mix of smoky dark yet well lit enough to see the faces of the people in front of you. There is suitably themed music playing, but it is not too loud as to overwhelm the conversation. The layout of the restaurant is a mixed with a little nooks and crannies for booths so at the right angle you can kind of feel like you are all alone with your party in some tucked away little corner of Mexico. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, I don’t think any of our water glasses got below two thirds full before he was back with a smile and a picture to refill. Our entrées were absolutely delicious too, we got a sample appetizer plate and it came out on a platter big enough to probably serve 10 people. We have plenty of yummy leftovers to take home, which is good because I need as much of that smoky poblano sauce as I can get in my life. When ever we go to the Sundance Square and are craving some delicious food with matching delicious atmosphere, this is the place we are going to go. I am holding off on that elusive fifth start, because I did not go to the bathrooms and to me that is a very important part of a restaurant experience. I am certain that I will be back, and when I do go to visit el bano, I will update my review, no doubt to add that fifth star.

We had lunch here while staying at the Worthington Renaissance hotel. My salad was big but just OK. The cilantro lime dressing had some bite to it, and it was more vinaigrette than creamy. I was very excited about the mango tres leches. Disappointment is not a strong enough word to describe the first bite. Tres leches, by definition, should be a wet cake. This one was not. They should call it mango cake. It consisted of three layers of a slightly moist sponge cake with layers of mango flavored cream. Again, NOT A TRESLECHES. I was even more disappointed by the $ 7.99 price tag for the driest tres leches, I mean mango cake, ever. Even my server agreed that the cake is not a traditional tres leches. I wish he had been more candid when I ordered it. And even though I checked in, the server never brought our table side guacamole.

Loved Cantina! We came around dinner time, there was no wait. Our waitress was nice and the food was great! They have free valet parking and the guy who took our car was extremely nice and apologetic when it took awhile to bring our car down. I generally love any restaurant in the downtown area so trying Cantina was a must. We will be back soon!

Awful and Expensive! $ 15 for Tacos de Carnitas plus rice & beans The salsa wasn’t bad, and neither were the sides. I have a certain(high) expectation when it comes to carnitas, as I frequent authentic, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants. For a high-quality chain restaurant’s carnitas, I will only ever have Chipotle’s from now on. At Cantina Laredo, the taste and texture were on the sour, underprepared, under-seasoned side. The tortillas tasted store-bought and sour as well. Very disappointed.

I have eaten here a couple of times, most recently on New Years Eve and the food is just okay. The salsa lacked flavor and the queso tasted like Velveeta. I ordered the tacos de barbacoa, which are brisket tacos with onions and jack cheese. The brisket was not seasoned and the corn tortillas were soggy. The party I was with ordered the cheese enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas, and the sea bass. They were all satisfied with their food. I tried the sea bass and it was nothing special, especially for $ 36.00. The location is convenient and our server Jose did a great job, however the food is subpar. I would give this restaurant 2 stars, however because of the location and service, I gave it an extra star.

We gave our friend the choice for dinner. It had to be Mexican fare, of course. There were so many to choose from within one block from the Renaissance Worthington but the sales clerk at a boutique recommended the Cantina Laredo. As we neared the restaurant, the marquis said«gourmet» Mexican cuisine. We were delighted to arrive just a few minutes before the end of Happy Hour. They were happy to honor the discounted drinks. Cool. Our server was Tony and very helpful in explaining some of the items on the menu. Our chips came with a small dish of salsa(I could taste the chipotle in there) for each of us— no need to worry about double dipping here! What a pleasant change from the usual salsa from lesser restaurants. Then our entrees came out quickly: the Durango, Carnitas and the Camarones Escondido. Wow, wow, wow! What an enticing presentation. We had a bite off of each other’s plates and they were all winners. I think they may have all been a house speciality. Dessert was shared: mango tres leeches with three chocolate-covered strawberries. Worth the stop.

After attending church in downtown Fort Worth, we decided that we wanted to go somewhere for a Sunday brunch. We were driving around and Cantina Laredo caught our eye. That’s all t took, the location was convenient, we were hungry and parking was right across the street. Perfect! The restaurant offered a very nice selection of brunch entrees. My wife ordered the chicken quesadillas and I ordered the Crab Eggs Benedict. Chips and a smokey salsa were delivered to our table shortly after ordering. Cantina Laredo’s salsa was very good and the chips were thin and crisp. Our two entrees portions were very generous. My wife’s quesadillas could have served both of us easily. My Crab Eggs Benedict was totally delicious. Instead of the poached eggs served on English Muffins, the eggs were served on crab cakes covered with a chipotle infused Hollandaise sauce. Yummy! My plate also included a bowl of fresh fruit and potatoes.
