Great food and fast lunch time service. I had the«lite lunch». Very filling chicken enchilada with rice and beans. I ordered and the food appeared just minutes later. I get hungry just thinking about it!

Best Mexican food in DFW. I’ve eaten here at least 20 times and have never left unhappy. Unfortunately it’s only open during the week and for lunch due to its poor location.

Been wanting to stop by this out-of– sight out-of-mind spot restaurant. Had lunch a couple of times here years ago. Looks the same as I remember, nothing fancy but clean. Good service & pretty good chips & salsa as well. I decided on the chimichanga, beef with melted cheese on top. Everything about it was good other than it is ground beef not shredded beef, my mistake. Good prices & food was good & hot so maybe I will go back and try the chicken enchiladas. If you like Tex-Mex I think you’ll like this one.

Come here during the week for lunch. Only open for lunch. You do not come here for the atmosphere, you come down here to eat simple good Tex Mex. They make their own tostadas chips and tortilla as well. Chips are always fresh. I could use the salsa a bit more spicy but that me. I love the Grilled Chicken breast. I come here a lot and have never been disappointed so far. It can get full quick around 12:00 parking lot as well.

Cardona’s Mexican food is stupid good. Their enchiladas are incredible. So much authentic flavor! Great prices, nice restaurant, and super fresh food. I wish they were open later, though!

This is by far the worst tex-mex I’ve ever had. The food is so incredibly bland and poorly prepared. The queso tastes like the cheese that you find at a convenience store that you put on stale tortilla rounds. I ordered one spinach and one cheese enchilada. The meat they put in their«enchilada» sauce had a distinctly gamey taste to it. The sauce tasted straight out of can, and the spinach was cooked but cold. The beans had a unusual almost liquid smoke aftertaste to them and they were pureed into a paste instead of mashed. About 30 minutes after eating the few bites that I did have my stomach felt beat up. I contemplated throwing it up just to help ease the stomach discomfort. I only had one bite of everything I ordered so it wasn’t from overeating. If there were a score lower than one star that is what I would rate this terrible establishment. Actually there needs to be a rating that says«eat if you dare». Oh they did have fresh iced tea though…

I had been meaning to eat at Cardona’s for a long time. Seems their hours and my hours are not friends… except for SUNDAY. So finally last Sunday I grabbed a friend and we went to Cardona’s and we were seriously starving half to death. We were served chips(fresh and fantastic) and salsa(again, fantastic!) as soon as we sat and in a blink the chip basket was empty and the salsa bowls were too. No problem, our wonderful server brought out another basket and a small jug of salsa. Our food came shortly thereafter along with fresh as you can get tortillas. Hands down the BEST Huevos ala Mexicana I have ever had. Seriously. The only negative thing we could either find with the whole experience were the potatoes. They were obviously previously frozen. A nice potato casserole would have been far better with such a tasty meal. There is security in the parking lot, even on Sunday so don’t be spooked by the neighborhood because this place is worth getting out of your house for on Sunday.

Not quite the Mexican breakfast we were looking for, BUT!!! The gnarly breakfast burrito is so good it’ll make ya wanna slap somebody! The coffee is delicious, salsa was amazing(try the habanero sauce if you’re a pepper head!), and the customer service(LINDSEY!) was phenomenal! We’ll be back!

Cardona Café and Bakery is a Tex-Mex experience tucked away in an unassuming tortilla factory in the Fort Worth warehouse district. Cardona’s is easy to over look, the only features even hinting at restaurant service being an «Open» sign and small menu bulletin beside the entryway. One could easily mistake this tortilla factory as not even having restaurant services, as I drove by it many times wandering what it was. Making the bold assumption that the place was indeed a restaurant without ever looking them up, or so much as giving them a closer inspection, I wandered inside with a friend looking for a quick lunch. Upon being escorted to our seats, I was surprised to see that they were moderately busy for their lunch service, approximately filling 20 of their 30 or so tables. Apparently the people dining near us were primarily returning customers according to various conversations I overheard, which made me excited for the possibility of good food and or service. Our waitress was very polite and made some excellent recommendations based on her personal favorites and customer favorites. I ordered the«El Matador» which consisted of a Cheese Stuffed Bell Paper topped with Beef, and served alongside Spanish Rice, and Beans. My friend ordered the«Mexican Dinner» which was a combination of a Beef Enchilada, Chile covered Tamale, Spanish Rice, and Refried Beans. We then finished our epic meal with an order of Fried Ice Cream. El Matador was simply put, amazing! Hands down the best stuffed Bell pepper I’ve ever eaten. The pictures I attempted to take cannot do justice to the melt in your mouth flavors that accompanied this fantastic array of Cheese, Pepper, and Beef. Everything was cooked to perfection, the rice wasn’t chewy at all and had a great flavor, as did the beans. My friend really seemed to enjoy his Mexican Dinner, cleaning his plate in what I can only assume to be some sort of record time, even deeming Cardona’s as «his new favorite Tex-Mex spot in Fort Worth». Last but certainly not least came the Fried Ice Cream, topped with whip cream, chocolate syrup, and cinnamon chips. This wasn’t your regular service of fried ice cream, it was definitely intended to be shared as it was quite huge. The flavors were spot on, the batter not too thick and just the right amount of sugary sweet. It was just about the perfect ending to a great meal. I would recommend Cardona Café and Bakery to anybody located in and around North Fort Worth on the lookout for superb Tex-Mex Lunch and Breakfast fare. I myself plan on returning to try their other menu items soon.

Hidden gem in a warehouse district. In just plain talk, this place dishes up some goooood food. Mrs Possum had a chile relleno, the stuffed-with-beef version, with half queso and half ranchero sauce for the topping. She said it was the best she ever had. Mr Possum had the FAA Special, which is a crispy taco and an enchilada. Cardona’s does a lot of little things right. The rice, for instance, is tasty and has a nice, not gummy texture. It might sound silly to say it, but those charro beans are perfection. First cold snap, I’m going in there just to order the beans. Goes without saying that the tortilla chips are fresh…

So I have been to Cardona’s several times. I have been going there longer than I have been Unilocaling. And will continue to go because it is a good place for lunch. Cardona’s serves good food. And the salsa is a bit different every time so you know they make it fresh daily. The servers are good. Busy, attentive but busy. They get you every thing you ask for. The resturant is only open for lunch, 11 to 2, and they stay busy. Even though the food is good, sometimes the busyness may get it to your table less hot.

Great food if you want to eat there. The chips you eat and can buy to take home. Either way, it is great food take some tamales home. Get the chilli and you will be set. Enjoy!!!

My wife and I have a «lunch date» each and every Thursday. There are times when we get into a «rut» and eat at the same restaurants over and over. This week my wife said we were going somewhere new, some place I hadn’t beet to before. I was intrigued and excited. We drove into an industrial area off Meacham Blvd. She said we were there and told me to turn into the parking lot of a warehouse looking building. The funny thing was there was no sign out front letting anyone know what the building was. We walked in the door and the restaurant was packed. Someone knew something that I didn’t! We were seated immediately. Chip and salsa arrived at our table shortly after we had time to look at the extensive menu. I was watching the plates being delivered to the adjoining tables, the plates and servings were massive. Oh my gosh, no one could go away hungry from Cardona’s! My wife ordered the«lite» lunch with a crispy taco, rice and refried beans. I ordered the Mexican Diner which consisted of a homemade tamale and choice of enchilada. I opted for the sour cream chicken enchilada. As we were waiting on our entrees we munched on tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were hot and crisp, not greasy at all the the salsa had just enough«kick» to make it interesting to the taste buds. Our entrée arrived very quickly and they were fantastic. My plate had one of the best tamales on it I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The chicken enchilada was packed full of shredded chicken meat. The rice and refried beans were both seasoned perfectly. My wife said her crispy taco was delicious. It’s so refreshing to have a new restaurant on our Thursday«lunch date» rotation. We’ll definitely be back soon to «Cardona’s» for lunch. Seek out the restaurant, you won’t be sorry! It’s worth the hunt to find it!

Again, a solid 3.5 Stars. I’ve had a few different entrees and they’re all good. I won’t say they’re «knock down, drag out good», but they’re good. Prices are very reasonable and Chips and tortillas are great. Salsa is fair. I’ve had better, but I’ve also tasted way worse. I usually judge a place by their chips & salsa… LOL Service is always top-notch and friendly. You cannot go wrong for dining here or taking it to go. You can also purchase fresh chips and tortillas here since they make them back in their gigantic factory… and they’re delicious.

This place is incredible. I’ve been there 100 times(or what feels like). The food is always excellent and the service is quick. Notice the strict times though. Only open during the week from 11a-2p. The rest of the time they are making and selling food to local stores. The chips and salsa are great. Thicker style chips. Some of the best salsa I have ever had at a restaurant. The rest of the food is excellent. I typically always get the cheese enchiladas with sour cream sauce and double rice. It’s extremely filling and hard to eat everything.

Whatever you order over here, it will fill you up. The food is good, but not great. Usually during lunch time the place is packed. They are extremely busy during lunch, but considering that, the service is pretty decent. My favorite on their menu is the Tilapia Veracruz. The Carne Guisada is really tasty, but a bit too oily. The Grilled Steak Torta is a pretty good choice too.
