We just walked in at 8:10pm and someone with a ball cap on goes«hey man were closed what are you doing?»… Website says open till 9, door says open till 9, flyer says open till 9… Wow We used to go here occasionally but probably not after this

I’ve eaten at this restaurant for years because it’s close to my home. Just when you think the service can’t get any worse it does! The last(and final) time we were there the manager asked us how everything was. My husband explained that after almost an hour of waiting on our food the order was wrong. It then took about 30 more minutes to get the correct order. The manager didn’t apologize but instead starting giving us excuses why the service was bad and food took so long!

It’s the kind of place you’d like, if you like the kind of place I like. Big ‘ol plate of fried catfishes and homemade potato chips made for a mighty fine late lunch.

I had been waiting to eat breakfast there and had the chance to do do Saturday Dec. 19th11:00 a.m. I ordered the Texas Skillet and the taste was O.K., but not exceptional. The waiter was busy and service could have been better.

I was visiting some friends in the area and we were looking for a place to grab dinner nearby. They mentioned they liked this place so I said let’s do it! It’s pretty far north off Saginaw Blvd and really the only thing in that little area. When we walked in the door we waited to be seated for a minute. Everyone was seated on the left side of the restaurant and the tables were all dirty or taken. My friend asked if we could eat on the other side and the hostess/server said no we are only seating this side of the restaurant … ok … So while we stood there she quickly cleared off a table and wiped it down. Seems a little odd … not sure why they couldn’t just sit us in an open table on the right side 10 feet away … the place is not that big. We then ordered. I got the chicken fried chicken and my friends got the catfish plate and steak fingers. All things came with sides. The kid’s got catfish with mac and cheese. It took awhile for our food to come out. The chicken fried chicken had a thick batter on it and the batter was not cooked all the way through. The mashed potatoes were ok. The heavenly corn was the best thing on my plate I would say. My friend admitted that it is pretty hit or miss here, but they like it because it pleases their kids. Overall I was not impressed and I would not come back here.

We’ve been there twice and the folks were very friendly, but the food that we tried was not good at all.

Food was decent service wasn’t fast or attentive, left my wallet on the table when I went back to retrieve it I was told it was found in the restroom ?? Kinda funny cause it was left on the table and imagine that money was gone. Funny because I went to the restroom to wash my hands when I first arrived and didn’t take my wallet out until end of the meal ??? Didn’t return to the restroom. Shows the kind of character their employees have won’t be returning.

We live near this restaurant so we have eaten there and placed to go orders many many times. The food is very average but when tired, it suited us for an easy dinner fix. We placed a large order, 4 dinner and appetizer, to go last week. When we picked up the order, we asked to make sure we had gravy for chicken fried chicken, we were promised it was in the bag. We got home and the chicken fried chicken had zero gravy. We were missing a dinner salad, and we were missing a side of green beans. We called the restaurant and told them that we had asked b4 we left if there was extra gravy and the young man assured us it was in the bag and that we were missing a dinner salad and a side of green beans. The manager offered half off our next order and told us it was his step sons mistake. The NEXT day, the MANAGERCALLED back my husband, ATWORK, and told him he believed his step son, that he’d put everything in our bag and he wanted to let us know. Our bill was around $ 75 Plus we tipped $ 10ON A CARRYOUT. The manager actually called us liars by saying he believed his step son, as though we were trying to get gravy, green beans and a dinner salad for free. My SHOCKED husband told him again that the order was incomplete and THATWEHADBEENCUSTOMERSFOR10 years. Again he stated he believed his step son. So my husband told him that he won and good luck because we, and everyone we know in the area, would NEVER return. So, if you carry out to go, OPENTHEBAGANDGOTHRUYOURORDERMAKINGSUREYOUGETWHATYOUORDEREDBCTHEYDONTEVERPOSSIBLYMAKE A MISTAKE. By the way the chicken fried chicken wasn’t eatable without the gravy to soften it. Very very poor and unprofessional for a manager/owner to call back and argue with their customer. Would never return or recommend

Catfish was over breaded. Service was very nice but slow. Too expensive. Would not go back. Manager didn’t even come to table to address our concern. Too many other places to go that have good food and good management.

Food was very good; creamed corn would have been better warm. It took an hour to get our food… hopefully this is not the norm. They were very apologetic.

We eat here about once a month. It’s convenient with fast service and there’s never a wait. I always get the Texas Twister chicken. Very flavorful seasonings with fresh tomatoes and avocado. Delish. My son loves the fried catfish and my husband usually gets whatever steak special they have. The chocolate cobbler is a must for dessert!

Stopped in for the first time today. Waitress was very pleasant and quick. Ordered the chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. Enjoyed every bite! I would say the sweet potato fries were the best I have ever had. Owner comes by to see if you are a happy customer too. Look forward to going back and trying more choices!

Love this place! Cozy mom and pop atmosphere with great home cooked food at a good price. The catfish is good(my husband’s favorite). Huge filets so 2 is plenty. I LOVE their Poor Boy with sweet potato fries!!! It is unbelievable! Oh and FYI. Kids eat Free on Wednesday so this is our definite Wednesday night choice!

Great place to slow down and relax. Slow pace here is not for everyone. But if you have plenty of time it is a great place.

Love the bread pudding but half the time I am so full from dinner that I don’t have room. Love the philly steak sandwich also. Great staff waiting on you.

Greasy food had the catfish… really laden with grease. It took forever for the server to stop by at all… just terrible service. Do not recommend.

WoW, what happened? My wife and I had eaten here a couple of times and were impressed with their food. So after several months we returned last night, the hostess seemed unhappy to see us but our waitress was very good checking in regularly, thats where the good stopped. Teas was okay, my shrimp and fries were dripping in grease as well as the wifes blackened salmon, the cornbread was overcooked as well as her okra. Our waitress wanted us to order our dessert so she could total our Unilocal voucher so we ordered peach cobbler & ice cream to be brought out after our meals. Two mins later she brought the cobbler and said«I told them to wait on this but they didn’t» so the ice cream melted all over the table. This is the worst experience I recall ever having at a restaurant, not counting Sonic, hehe, hence they receive my first one star review, congrats Circle S!
