I joined the department in 1993 and formally left in 2001, but still periodically visit. This is a great example of what can come from humble beginnings. The department started many years ago, has persevered through a few changes, and is now a première example of what can be accomplished when people care about their community. The department has over 50 members currently and is responsible for Fire and Ambulance Service to at least half of the area surrounding Eagle Mountain Lake. The department also provides ambulance service to a large portion of Northwest Tarrant County. Members consist of professional firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, and other volunteers who graciously give their time and energy to support the community. They provide an integral component to the health care system with mobile intensive care unit and rescue capabilities. Firefighting apparatus includes a tanker, engine, and brush trucks for fighting grass fires. Check out their website for more information.
