Overpriced, $ 30 for a burger and two beers. Received the wrong order. The waitress was apologetic but didn’t offer to fix it. Burger was good, fries were soggy. Nice atmosphere. I love the 7th St vibe and Freds is a good fit. Food at the TCU location is better in my opinion.

I like Fred’s and the 7th street experience wouldn’t be the same without it, I had most their burgers I like sitting outside to enjoy the music with my meal for me it still serves up some of the best burgers in town, I would normally suggest something to choose it’s all good and the atmosphere is Fort Worth

The only reason for a 3 star is due to the service. Food was incredible as always. Everyone is quick to bus your empties and take stuff away from the table AS you are there. No one though is paying attention or asking what you might need. They appear to have plenty of wait staff. And again, they are quick to keep your table clean. Food = 5 star rating Service = 2 star rating

The food was good but a waitress stopped at our table to talk to my four girls who were sitting quietly and being polite. She was being sweet to them and then looked at me and she said, «Four girls? I hope you’re done… right?» Maybe she doesn’t have kids but that is a very rude and disrespectful thing to ask. Kids are not problems or mistakes. I have four kids because I wanted four kids. If I wanted more there is NOTHING wrong with having kids! I could have asked her if she was done tattooing her body since she had them covering every single place. However, I didn’t because I can infer since she has so many she likes them and I didn’t want her to think I was looking down on her for over tattooing. I’m just saying think before you speak.

I have just returned to Fort Worth, my home town, after a hiatus of nearly 10 years, and I am revisiting some of my old haunts. Fred’s still has the most delicious Portobello Mushroom Burger that I have ever had, outside of my own. The place has been spiffed up, cleaner and brighter than I remember, but it still retains some of its original hole in the wall charm. The outside dining area has been expanded and covered. The waiters just exuded good old boy charm. The French fries were fresh cut, hot and delicious. I got a to go cup for my iced tea without even asking. My man had never been before, he loves him a good burger, and he was not disappointed. The calf fries and chicken fried steak are legendary. Fred’s, I loved you then. I love you now!

The food is awesome here! It is a little pricy but I highly suggest you trying this place. The service is not that great but it’s nothing bad. I would try the el diablillo, its really good.

Great food, especially the burgers… expect a crowd on the weekends. Seating very informal, laid back place, outdoor dining and drinks. One negative is the parking but it is worth hunting for a spot.

Great burgers and awesome music, but the service was terrible. Sat at a table for twenty minutes before being helped and had multiple servers who did not communicate. One server poured us the wrong beer and then towards the end of our meal forgot to come back and give us the drinks we ordered. Terrible service!

Came in and sat at a table for 20 or so minutes before my hubs went to the bar to get us two sodas and ask if we could get a server. Waitress was rude and said she would send someone. 10 – 15 min later someone came to pick up the checks that were on the table before we got there and bring us our sodas. Didn’t take our order, or ask us if we were ready. We left and walked to Rodeo Goat, spotting the same waitress who told my husband she would send someone standing around doing nothing. Thanks for nothing Fred’s :/

One of the best classic cheeseburgers I’ve had in Fort Worth. It’s a big burger, not huge but big. Great taste. If you’re looking for a great basic cheeseburger from a local Fort Worth burger joint I recommend it. The location is small so keep that in mind as there may be a long wait.

Great atmosphere loved the live music. It was open seating so it took a while for a server to help us out. Food was okay, too pricey for what I got. Unfortunately service was lacking that night, they got my order wrong and I couldn’t get find a server to fix it. So I just ate it as is since I was hungry and didn’t feel like waiting another 15 – 20 minutes for my food to get fixed. Wish I had a better experience like all the other reviews I read on here. Probably won’t come back here again. I’d rather go to Rodeo Goat. Better service and better food there.

So the people were so nice here that i would come back just to hang out and drink beer. I got burgers and fries to go and the quantities are plentiful but i wasn’t crazy about the fries. The burgers were tasty but you can get better for the same $$ at Hopdoddy’s. The icy cold beer golbets are kind of awesome.

OMG. What else do you want? Yes the fries could have been crisper but that’s a little nit picky. The burger was. F’n awesome. Best I’ve had in Texas, including rodeo goat and it was good. The atmosphere and live music rock, literally. I don’t know Fred but I wish I did he’s got to be one cool sob. The missing star is because they ran out of Titos. I mean really???

This review is strictly for the host or whoever answered the phone– I called on a Sunday afternoon to see how long the wait was and was told«oh honey, I have no idea but if you’re worried about a wait you should just go somewhere else» ^^ is that any way to get business in your door?!

If you are looking for some great bar eats in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, Fred’s is a worthy spot. After seeing the reviews on Unilocal my wife and I hit Fred’s for an early dinner. The place has an open feel, like you are in a beachside bar, except with a western flair. Cool memorabilia adorn the walls and there is just a neat buzz to the place. Also, live music can be found on some nights so you can grab a bite and catch some tunes at the same time. On this trip I opted for their patty melt with a side of bacon cheese fries. Wow… The patty melt was fantastic! Yes, it’s a simple dish, but those can sometimes be the hardest because we have all had those plenty of times. Juicy burger, delicious onions and gooey cheese made this a winner. Add in the side of hand-cut fried covered in real chunks of bacon and smothered in cheddar cheese and it just got better. And then I washed it all down with an ice cold Shiner… Yeah, it was a great visit and I will be back…

Went there hoping to have a burger with my dad this past Sunday. Unfortunately, «no burgers ’til noon» and we got there at 11:20. I didn’t feel right taking up a table for 40 minutes before ordering food, so we opted for brunch. The food was good, but nothing wowed me. I also thought $ 15 for chicken fried steak(relatively small for the price, IMO), eggs, potatoes, and one biscuit w/gravy was a bit pricey. Would I go back? Yeah, probably so. But, I would probably do it later in the day so I could(finally!) try one of their burgers.

We loved the patio setting and live music. We ordered an enchilada burger and a mushroom burger. Both were delicious and we ate every bite.

Diablo burger on a rainy fall afternoon. Ladies and gentleman, in case you didn’t know I dig beef. And fries. And anything spicy without being JackA$$ hot. Just some steam, not enough to give me a hot flash. And Fred’s can do it right. Bomb patio is more of a bar than you’d get at another burger joint down the block. Great crowd, just don’t expect toddlers running around to be ok. Friendly service as well and Rahr Oktober on tap. The burger is big. I’m still full 48 hours later. Good toasted buns. Good cheese. And some rockin beef. And the Diablo sauce wasn’t all cumin tasting or vinagery. It was a touch of heat. Perfect. I’ll be back. Thanks for ruining me for the afternoon. Absolutely no work got done after my lunch meeting at Fred’s. My fault not yours.

Probably the surprise of the evening. Large outdoor bar area with adjoining café, fresh local IPA brew, and live music that would rival 6th Street in Austin. On a Tuesday night! As I apparently one of the last of the Fort Worth transplants to to truly discover the amazement of 7th street, Fred’s apparently gave me a new perspective. Why? For one, you can hear the live band from 3 blocks away & with the Ranger’s game turned up high in a neighboring bar. And the music sounded great! While I didn’t try the food due to a full belly of food, brew and Steel City Pop’s creamery(across the street), I did try the local IPA brew. Given two choices of some of the finest locally, I couldn’t hear what the bartender told me about the brands(due to the music). Didn’t matter. Both brands were well worth the $ 7. The seats at the bar felt funny(something in the middle that protrudes into your crotch), yet I didn’t think much of it due to the mesmerizing rhythm & blues music, plus potent 9% IPA drafts. Oh yes, it was a good night. The parking garage is directly around the corner from the building. I love the fact that you have 2 hours of parking for free. Fred’s Texas Café, I’ll certainly see you once again in the near future!

Yes, stockyards isn’t that far away. But come on! That place is a tourist trap. Fred’s is where it’s at! Fred’s may be the oldest business on 7th now. It’s pretty obvious why. The building well, patio, has gotten so much bigger in the last couple of years yet they still have the same staff! I love it! At Fred’s you can expect some good ol’ Fort Worthian service, all around Texan atmosphere, live music almost everyday of the week and cold a$$ beer. Oh, they also have food; like real good food. Hamburgers and it Can’t be Texas with out chicken fried steak. I had the Diaplo, cause I thought I was tough enough to handle the heat. But, nope :\ it made me cry. It was super spicy, and still flavorful. They are not shy with their portions either! Oh and them seasoned fries! Yumm!
