Best restaurant Tony treats you right mac treats you right, great food too. Sweetest people when my mother-in-law was alive that always made her feel welcome. Now ice prepared her food just the way she liked it and she was a very picky.

Normally this is a local favorite for my family but today, on Cinco de Mayo, one of the busiest days for Mexican restaurants, we waited over 45 minutes to get our food! Manager told us they only had THREE cooks! Seriously folks staff up! Service was mediocre at best. At least the food was good.

Great food but they have a policy that they only hold reservations for 10 minutes. We arrived about 8 minutes after out reservation time and had to stand in a line for about 3 minutes to actually speak with the hostess who then informed us that we had missed our reservation and would have to wait. We tried to explain that we had been standing in line for the past three minutes but she didn’t show the slightest amount of concern. Their food is not worth their lack of hospitality!

I live around the area and had never tried this place out. I heard a lot of good things about the food and the place has good reviews on google, so I decided to try it. Probably the worst«mexican» food I’ve ever tasted. Even for a texmex restaurant, the food was horrible. We got two differnt dishes and both were very bland and nowhere near mexican taste. Drinks were good and waitress was nice. Wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re wanting to eat mexican food.

We decided to try before a wedding we had in Ft. Worth. My husband wanted to try a New Mexican restaurant that we had not tried before and after a recommendation from a friend Los Vaqueros it was. The atmosphere was spot on. The server was attentive but not overbearing. The margaritas were surprisingly yummy even though the bright green color. No complaints about the food either. I have had better food but all in all a very good experience. If you want traditional TEX Mex with a Stockyard feel this is the place for you.

I have been to two different events here, and I have to give this place some big kudos for being able to take care of large groups. Just this last month I look a group of 25 out of town guests here for dinner. We of course had made reservations and order a fixed meal for everyone. The whole process was easy to arrange and the service that night could not have been better. The food was also great, hot and ready for our full group at the same time. Our menu consisted of a taco, enchilada and a tamale, with sopapillas for desert. Our seating area was a part of the main restaurant right off the bar, but it felt very personal and the group loved it. You felt like you were part of the community but had a chance to be with your private group.

For us, one of the best Mexican restaurant we tried. Worth a trip. Good food, we had the Enchiladas ranchero and the Chicken flautas. Both very good. Good service,.

Great for groups! I always have so much fun when I visit Los V. The queso is a must get and Tara’s tacos are the best brisket tacos in town! Great service too. I recommend to friends all the time! A truly great spot in Fort Worth.

This place is great! I always have to visit Los Vaqueros when I’m in Fort Worth. Delicious food, wonderful service, and always a fun, authentic environment! The best Mexican food in the Stockyards by far!

What bothers me the most is going to a so call Mexican restaurant and the only hot sauce they have to offer is the one you eat with the tortilla chips, and the flour tortillas are probably the ones you buy at the grocery store. Even Taco Cabana offers better hot sauces and made fresh tortillas . Will not come here ever again!

we booked the private back room for a party which was fun! i give the staff & the bartender who was controlling the music 4 stars BUT the food was 3 stars(although all the food was pre-ordered so i didn’t get to choose) —strawberry frozen margarita: pretty sweet, best when mixed with the original frozen margarita! –chips & salsa: nice SPICY salsa but chips were really stale –nachos: we had a mix of chicken & beef, the chicken was much tastier –sampler appetizer platter: i only tried the stuffed jalapenos which were nothing special –fajitas platter: all the meat was very dry except for a few pieces of beef so i stuck to that. BUT at least refried beans were good! overall nothing to rave about in my opinion, but a fun time

We come here every now and again when family is in town because it’s close to my dad and they seat big tables. The ivy running up the exterior wall is gorgeous, the margaritas are decent and we love Mac; she has been waiting tables here for 28 years. Give this woman a medal! The food is not awesome; there is nothing special about anything I have ever ordered here. Sorry to be a buzz kill, but there you have it. :/Joe T’s is better for a very similar atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a lively, fun atmosphere to spend an evening in the Fort Worth Stockyards, look no further. This restaurant has everything you need. The food is excellent. The menu is far more expansive than the competition down the street. I even hear Los Vs is under consideration to become a Blue Zones restaurant!(Though, they aren’t going away, I don’t think the cheese enchiladas I love and dream about will be on that menu…) The staff is extremely kind and attentive. If you’re lucky enough they’ll sing to you. The atmosphere is perfectly Fort Worth, Texas. There’s no question where you are. You know you’re in a stellar place when you walk in. If you’re looking for a wedding venue, this is a great place to celebrate, too. The family that owns Los Vaqueros is the kind of people you want in your community. They’re just great.

Food: — Vaquero Special Combination Platter: beef or chicken & cheese nachos, potato skins topped with cheese, chicken flautas, and stuffed jalapenos with a side of guacamole and sour cream. Everything was good. I liked the chicken flautas. 3.5÷5 — Nachos Supreme: nachos topped with beans, cheese, and meat(beef or tacos) with a side of guacamole and sour cream. Both were good. 4⁄5 Servers: Everyone kinda seemed like they hated their jobs. No one smiled, nor did they come off as friendly. But the bartenders were nice and talkative. 3⁄5 Final Thoughts: I would come back and try their entrees.

Came here for an event. The bar was good and tried to stay on top of the drinks. The margaritas were good. Not very strong though. It took me almost 3 drinks to get the buzz. Most Mexican restaurant, it’ll take me only 1 drink to get buzzed. We wanted a table for 7. there was a 45 min wait. It became longer than 45 mins and by the time we got a table, half of our group left because it was already 9 at night. Someone at our table got fajitas for two. It was a tiny portion even for one person. And they only brought out 3 tortillas for the two people. They had to request for more tortillas twice because apparently, the restaurant is stingy with the tortilla. My queso was very watered down and bland. Not very cheesy. No one at my table even wanted to try it. It was pretty unappetizing. So disappointing when the queso is not even good. And it was expensive too. $ 9 for the queso. It took a while for our food to come out. So when I flagged a waiter down and asked if our food was coming so I can cancel my order and go home. He pointed around and said very rudely, «ya! It’s been very busy!» And walked off. Everyone at our table was astonished at how rude he was. And we did look around and the café was half full. So if they consider this as busy– they are not ready for a full restaurant or an event of any sort! I definitely wanted to drive down the street to order real Mexican food to go. I did try some of our tables dishes and was not impressed at all, especially for the price!

The Bar Manager, Fidel, was an absolute ROCKSTAR! Fidel took orders at the bar and ran the food out to the guests as fast as his legs could carry him! He didn’t skip a beat, he was pouring margaritas, salting glasses, and delivering fajitas, all at the same time! He provided an above and beyond quality of service not seen often these days. The food at Los Vaqueros is probably the best Mexican food I’ve had as far back as my memory will take me! I’m talking about, this is the kind of place you take out of town guests you wish to impress. The salsa has an outstanding flavor, the food comes out hot and fresh, and boy oh boy, their margaritas are spot on the money! My wife had the chili relleno while I went with the flautas! No longer will people go to Joe Ts when visiting the stockyards! No longer will they settle for On the Boarder! No longer will we stand by and let Taco Bell call themselves a breakfast location! Los Vaqueros shall Reign!

Dined here for the first time last night. They had musicians in the large dining room and that’s a great touch. This is a pretty big restaurant with the bar at the very far end. I had a frozen margarita and quesadillas and I was pleased with both. I was able to bury my quesadilla under sour cream, gaucamole and black olives just the way I like it. I am a total lightweight when it comes to alcohol so I was already walking crooked after 1 frozen margarita. I was way to chicken to get my planned second drink. The bartenders are friendly and quick and I will definitely recommend Los Vaqueros and I will absolutely go back again.

Well… where do I start. Oh I know! W a hashtag! #EPICFAIL The only reason this place is still in business is because they are getting the Joe T over flow. Let me tell you our story. We were at the stockyards for a visit from my brother sister in law and niece who traveled far all the way from New Jersey. Our plan was to visit Joe T Garcias! Not because it’s the best but because everyone should go at least once. Sadly, Joe t’s patio was not open and the wait was a half hour. We decided to go over to Los Vaqueros because of its proximity. We were in a bit of a rush. Enter los Vaqueros. Good from far but far from good! They didn’t even have any hot sauce! The chips were dry and overcooked! The salsa was blah! The meals were less than appetizing! The jalapeño poppers were just blah. The guacamole was anything I could make better at home. The brisket tacos were chewy and gross! The chicken fajitas were definitely pre frozen and thawed in a microwave! You didn’t think I was done did you? The margaritas! We came this far from Margarita! And they were definitely a mix. They didn’t even try to make a real Margarita. They just got the mix and added a touch of tequila. epic fail. Joe T’s may not be the best place on earth but it’s no wonder people flock there! Los Vaqueros should be embarrassed. They need new management new waiters and a new menu altogether. What kind of Tex Mex serves premixed Margarita and has no hot sauce anyway?

Mild-Mex! That is the term I use to describe Mexican food that isn’t spicy. The term bland also works. My wife and I had the enchilada plate. She had cheese and I had beef. To start off with, they made no effort to season the beef … hamburger. No onions, garlic or chili. Nothing. What were they thinking? Well the tourist trap was loaded. Business was good on Saturday. My wife, a Minnesota German thought the cheese enchiladas were also a waste. C’mon. The rice and beans were dull too. It is saying something when Taco Bell serves up spicier entrées. Bad news. Very nice décor though. Beautiful, but I will never, ever be back. Adiós!

Couldn’t leave Fort Worth, Texas without 1) Visiting the Stockyards and 2) having some sort of Tex-Mex cuisine. I can’t complain too much about the place since the entire dinner was covered. Apps: Sampled a bit of everything. Nacho chips need a touch of salt, but are otherwise bland unless eaten with the beef/chicken/cheese. Potato skins are potato skins, and the chicken flautas were a bit dry. Main Course: Fajitas! More appetizing to the eye than actually tasty. Spanish rice and chicken were dry and bland! Steak was just okay. Came with fresh shredded cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream. Dessert: Sopapilla, a doughy pastry topped with strawberry sauce and whipped cream. Reminds me of the Pillsbury Toaster Strudels you get in the frozen section of the supermarket. Service was super friendly and margaritas were flowing all night at least!
