We came here for lunch for a co-workers birthday. We all had the buffet option and my review of it is awful! My understanding of a buffet should be an abundance of food — this place is afraid that you will eat too much so they are very, extremely, slow in putting out sushi/rolls. 4 piece of salmon sushi at a time and they make you stand and wait for 5 mins!!! After 5 mins of standing there waiting for my freshly prepared 2 piece salmon sushi, what I received was WARM sushi??? What the heck? It was already bad enough that the rice was not properly seasoned, they manage to top it off with warm salmon. Recommendation for management: Don’t be so stingy with your buffet and all raw sushi/rolls should be chilled not placed under some lamp/heat lamp. In my opinion, raw fish under lamp/heat lamp may be a health issue.

I love my sushi & I love a good buffet; Midori has a nice mixture of both. It was great to be immediately seated. While I could have opted for a less cold environment; it was clean and spacious. All of your traditional sushi rolls were on display; California, spicy tuna, & sashimi. I would have liked to see a few more speciality rolls; Texan, San Antonio, etc… Also, the radio mix was a welcomed & pleasant surprise. There were no standout aspects but I will be visiting again.

I don’t usually go to any sushi buffet places but I was busy and had cravings and wanted something close by. They only have the buffet option during lunch time and normal stuff for dinner. I was told this place is the best to come by right when it opens at 11am to get the freshest and simply be the first. I love Japanese salad with ginger dressing and this place does not disappoint with that. It salad was so fresh, and the sushi was okay, but for a buffet, it’s not bad. They don’t have the biggest options but decent amount. If you’re not picky with sushi, this place isn’t bad for all you can eat for $ 12.

I ordered the dragon roll and got disappointment instead. They squirted some weird green citrus mayonnaise on it. They also topped it with a crunchy noodle as an attempt to look like tempura. No fish roe on top like normal. The dragon roll is edible if you scrape off the mayo and soak it in soy sauce. The caterpillar roll was OK, but with the same weird noodles. In general, it seems like a very amateur attempt at rolls. I suspect they survive only because they are the only sushi place close to the south side of the airport. $ 26.50 plus tip. The seaweed salad was just right and delicious. The place smells like a musty basement. Either they have a water leak somewhere or they’re not cleaning their mops.

You get what you pay for; I came during my lunch break. $ 12.99 lunch buffet; best to go for their rolls with the most fish. Only 2 chefs in the back prepping the food, so food is gone quickly. I was full from my food at least?

They had one server and one person making the food. There were about six other tables in there. We waited about 30 min. before we received our orders. The sushi was not worth the price here. They were loose and falling apart while eating them and there was nothing too great about the taste. The best part of our experience was the Miso Soup provided prior to orders.

Try the spicy tuna tower! It’s one of the best sushi dishes I have ever tasted and I travel the world. Small restaurant, never seems busy. My whole meal with Miso Soup was $ 10.81. Can’t beat that. I highly recommend it!!!

We have come here before and we would have given it a 3 before. It’s not outstanding food but okay. I got the Chicken Teriyaki and it was a little cold and dry. Husband got Nigiri and it was just ok. Price reasonable, waiter friendly and a very clean place.

I thought I will give this place another shot however It was a mistake. The food is excellent, however our service sucks. It’s always one male waiter(Latino I think) here with no personality. There’s only 3 tables and we didn’t get greeted and self sat ourselves down. We had all our entrees already and our appetizers has yet to show up. Horrible horrible service. Just go get takeout instead. To management, get a new waiter.

Only one waiter for the whole restaurant during dinner tonight. That’s 7 occupied tables and 10 at the sushi bar. Poor guy!

I had the avocado roll. Good flavor and a nice texture roll. It’s a nice clean little place. With fair price.

Visited for an early dinner around 5:30. There was only one server, but we were greeted promptly enough. The complimentary appetizer was a nice touch. We ordered steamed gyoza to start and mackerel, octopus, tuna, salmon, and egg sushi for our entrée. The nigiri was all happy hour! You do get what you pay for. With that in mind, it was a good value. I would probably stop by again for a quick dinner of nigiri, but the gyoza wasn’t really worth it. You know you’ll be hungry again in an hour anytime/anywhere you eat sushi though, so I would definitely try more appetizers.

It’s not a five star restaurant or anything but it does have fresh and tasty sushi for sure and on the cheaper side. Have not been here for the lunch buffet. Not a huge variety to choose from but it will do and I will always return.

Love the atmosphere and the service and food was great! Was surprised they were not very busy. This is a hidden gem.

I visit Midori every couple of weeks, and I guess you can say it’s enjoyable. I’ve always been sketchy about raw fish n such. But I’ve come to like their style. The atmosphere is cool, quiet, and there are a couple of TV’s that display various sports that are currently on television. I usually come later at night in order to miss the big crowds. I’m always watching netflix when I come. The buffet is during the lunch hour and always busy during that time. I don’t like the fact that there are only like 2 servers, and their service is sometimes slow. The chicken teriyaki is awesome. But they have a slim selection of drinks. No fountain machine, and no sweet tea… I’ll still come back, they know me now!

It’s 11.95 sushi buffet. Very busy at lunch. My wife has been here a few times and came back. My first time. Didn’t expect much, but it was good. Nice atmosphere, has a bar area. If you come with someone that’s not into raw fish, they had a few other choices to make a meal. Little salad, chicken teriyaki, fried veggies. It’s kinda like every other discount sushi buffet.

I almost feel compelled to leave a review for this place! It certainly does not deserve the one and two star ratings it gets. Does it deserve the full four I’m giving it, I think so and maybe I can help offset the negative balance a little. I’ve only ever eaten at the sushi bar, and I think I’ve only ever ordered the Sashimi dinner along with a roll. But, for $ 30 you get your money’s worth, 6 different types of fish and usually four pieces of each… Yes that’s 24 pieces of sashimi for $ 30!!! As for the quality, it’s certainly worth the money. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t going to be the best sushi you’ve ever had, but it’s definitely edible and doesn’t give you an upset stomach like bad sushi can! Granted the décor is a little dated and the staff are not exactly chatty, but they certainly are pleasant and will assist you in anyway. It’s also a quite place, never have I seen more than 10 people in at once, which some may find off-putting but I like to get away from the noise of busy restaurants sometimes, especially when eating alone! There’s nothing worse than sitting in a crowded restaurant while everyone around you is having more fun than you. The have a bar(not sure about liquor) but have beer and wine! They also have a tv above the sushi bar which is usually playing sports, so sitting alone you don’t feel to much like Billy-No-Mates as you can easily distract yourself with whatever is on the Telly! All in all if you’re south of DFW and looking for a sushi spot that won’t break the bank this is certainly worth a visit…

It was good. I like they didn’t clutter fresh ingredients with sweet heavy sauces. They weren’t afraid to veer from the menu to make our favorite roll. We would come back. The seaweed salad was good too.

Overall the whole experience deserves a 1.5 star but gave a two star for the sushi of the place. Drinks — I first ordered the green tea at first; however, I returned it because the tea powder was not completely mixed into the water and the tea just did not taste right. It tasted a bit like airplane water.(Not the ones from the bottle, the ones from the tank) Soup — Miso soup was free with a sushi sample I guess? Well the Miso soup was warm and tasted like they just mixed the Togo pack of Miso soup. Environment — From the outside of the restaurant it looks like its closed, even it is opened it looks as if it’s closed. From the inside, very spacious but not very classy. It gives off a feeling of a cafeteria vibe. It is clutter in the back walls and in the private area of the restaurant it looks very cheap and does not look as if it is for private parties. Sushi — This is probably the only part of the restaurant that was not awful. I ordered the Red Dragon Roll and Eel sushi. The sushi was pretty good, the roll had decent texture and it was not all that bad. But I would say if you’re looking for amazing this is not the place for it. The sushi was not well cut from what I can tell. Combo — #45 was the combo that I ordered. The combo was very very large and portionwise; however, the food itself was a disappointment. The tempura was not in bread crumb batter and was not even crunchy, the chicken and the beef was room temperature and had sauce just put on top of it. Service — The server had his finger in my Miso soup and in the rice that he served but I did saw him washed his hands twice during my meal. He was inattentive but did not give an attitude. Wasn’t awful but wasn’t good either. Price — Not pricey at all compare to many other places. I would say average or below average. Overall, if you’re looking to go on a date or somewhere special. This is not your ideal place.

I was pleasantly surprised after I saw so many 1-star, awful reviews with very little detail. We visited Midori Sushi around 5:30PM on a Friday night, figuring it wouldn’t be too packed since they had just opened for dinner. The interior looked a little run down, and could use some paint touch-ups(as well as a re-alignment on their sliding doors for the private room). I’m not reviewing 5 stars about the way the place looked, though. As we made our way to a table, we changed our minds and sat down at the sushi bar. We were greeted by the staff, and sat down with a drink of water. Not even two minutes later, they brought us the complimentary miso soup(which was yummy)! I regret that I did not get anyone’s name. The gentleman that made our sushi was very nice. He promptly placed fresh-ground wasabi and pickled ginger in front of us, along with a sample bite of a roll. It was crunchy and rich(something fried with crab/eel). We took some time going over the menu, and despite it being two paper pages, it did not have a massive selection — not that I’m complaining. That typically means they know what to focus on when they make rolls, as opposed to other sushi places that have 50+ menu items and have never perfected any of them. Since we were newbies here, we asked the man behind the sushi bar what he would recommend. We ordered the Tower and a Rainbow roll. The tower was GOOD. Not«eh, I’ve had this elsewhere and it was similar», it was«OMG I don’t want to get this anywhere else». The rice was perfectly seasoned, the avocado was fresh and tender, AND the spicy tuna was excellent. I cannot express how good the spicy tuna was, especially in comparison to other places — fresh, perfect flavor, perfect portion. Oh, and it didn’t have fish eggs on top(big plus). Definitely get the Tower when you visit. The rainbow roll was good as well. Shrimp, avocado, white fish, tuna, and salmon on a California roll. Yum. At the end we received fresh sliced orange, and the price astonished me in a good way. Typically we run $ 30+ whenever we visit a sushi restaurant, and the price was $ 24 something. They received a fat tip for great service and quality of the food. I am determined to visit them again soon to see if this is the standard treatment. If so, well done Midori.
