Don’t expect communication once Amanda gets her money. Contract allowed 6 – 8 weeks for pictures. Mine came in 12 and only in digital file. The box with USB still has not come and it has been 22 weeks since my wedding. Does not respond to emails or texts and does not answer the phone. She has been «checking on it» since Jan 4. Have not heard from her since.

This is the 5^th time I’ve used Mulberry Lane Studios in a year and I’ve been amazed every time!!! Amanda not only takes the most amazing photos you will ever see but her customer service is just as good as her photos.
Her sets are always beautiful, thoughtful, planned out & ready to go for when you arrive at the studio. She is also beyond great with children. She has fun little tools & props to hold & keep your littles attention to get them to laugh or smile for the pictures. Amanda is great to work with and is another reason I keep coming back to use her. She is always warm & friendly & makes you feel invited when you’re working with her. It makes you feel like you have been best friends forever, while also keeping a very professional manner. She easily holds a conversation with you while also keeping on the task at hand which is capturing your perfect moments.
The only time I’ve had an issue, it was due to her having a family emergency. She explained it to me, which I felt she didn’t need to do. When you have a family emergency the last thing you want to do is go & explain it to a client. However because of her professionalism she took it upon herself to do so. I more then appreciated her taking the time to do that. She was also more than sorry and went out of her way to make it up.
I would definitely recommend Amanda to anyone wanting to get photos done in the DFW Metroplex & also recommend looking up her Face Book Page Mulberry Lane Studio

Update to my prior review. Amanda’s lawyer, Austin, requested I edit/​remove my prior negative review as to NOT hurt her business. I agreed because I was then told I would receive my pictures within 4 – 6 weeks from July 4^th.
Fast forward to today. Pretty sad when you pay a Vendor in full, and then when its time to deliver, they don’t. I paid Mulberry Lane Photography of Keller, TX $ 3200 for pictures and she refuses to give me my pictures. Reason unknown. Contract states she has 4 – 6 weeks. Saturday will be SIXTEEN weeks!!!
She won’t answer texts, emails or calls. I implore anyone looking for pictures NOT to utilize Mulberry Lane or its owner, Amanda Dykan. I have filed a BBB report and my next course of action is small claims court.
Contracts are for the Vendor’s protection, not the Consumer. Some vendors use this to their advantage. But, I’m not concerned I have nothing but time on my hands. The other Unilocal reviews and those on other sites are sad, because she does beautiful work. She just lacks follow through and customer service once paid in full.

This experience with Amanda is the WORST I have ever had. She NEVER made us feel like valued customers. I really want to make it clear that I am not complaining about her photos; I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT AMANDA’S TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am specifically stating Amanda because I do not believe she asked her assistants to contact me. FYI, I kept all phone records, emails, Facebook msgs that I mention in this review just in case Amanda wants to counteract anything that I have stated. At the beginning, she was very punctual/​attentive, but she stop answering email and calls claiming that she either did not receive emails/​calls or her assistant did not return my email or calls. She even stated a few times that she emailed me back, but I have never had an issue with receiving someone’s email. Since we were having issues, she stated in June 2014 that she would be the only one taking care of our acct. and our emails would be marked as a priority. NOT TRUE.
After our wedding on 9÷19÷14, we had not heard from her about viewing/​receiving the photos or making an album. So I contacted her early December where she stated that she was still editing. That’s fine. I tried emailing her in January and received no response; she finally responded early February where I gave her the address to send the USB of the wedding photos. Weeks past and nothing came. I left her voicemails and sent emails and received no response for about a month. Mid March, contacted the 2^nd photographer at the wedding to see if she could get in contact with her for me. That photographer contacted her through Facebook where Amanda answered within 2 hours. I tried contacting her through Facebook and received no response (I also email and left another voicemail). About a week later, she answered when I called her. I asked her if she received my emails/​call; she said no. At that point, I provided her proof of my efforts. She called back later that day to state that her assistant was supposed to contact me but didn’t. I also asked about the USB; she stated she already sent it. I asked her to give me the tracking number. She could not. So she had to make and resend another one. At this time she also gave us access to the wedding photos (first time we saw them!), and we setup a meeting to order an album. To make up for her poor service, she offered us a $ 1200 credit to use any way we liked (she later forgot she told us that and threatened to take it back). Instead of allowing us to pick the services we wanted, she made us an album without our input. We were okay with that because we wanted to be done with her. I was going to pick it up, but she stated that a page had a head cutoff and SHE wanted to fix it. We agreed. Over a month had past and we had not heard from her. Same routine: I called, left voicemail, and emailed her; to no answer. At this point, the only other option besides sitting in front of her office and wait for her, was to get legal services. I called one last time in early June 2015, she answered and was very RUDE. She stated that the album had been sitting in her office for a few weeks and that her ASSISTANT was supposed to contact me. I was in shock! She know we were waiting for this album and she just let it sit in her office. We finally received it days later 9 MONTH AFTER OUR WEDDING. The album included the photo that had its head cutoff which makes me believe she did not reorder the album. Would not recommend this company.

I love Amanda and Mulberry, but sadly I cannot recommend them to capture your event.
We met Amanda and her team through a relative’s wedding. We loved her! She was fun, outgoing, and seemed to have the shoot under control like we would hope one would for our wedding. After shopping around and talking to some photographers we chose Mulberry and Amanda for our big day. We paid the entire $ 2,000+ bill up front to take advantage of a discount for doing so.
We elected to do a first-​look shoot a couple weeks before the wedding instead of a post-​wedding shoot (part of the wedding package bonus). From that first-​look shoot we were to receive a mat print of a photo of our choice — Amanda would bring the mat print to the wedding to display at our reception. Unfortunately, we never received the proofs to select the photo we wanted for print. According to Amanda her email (Gmail) was having issues sending emails (my wife and I both have Gmail accounts and had no issues). She told us at our wedding that she would send the link to the proofs that weekend. 3 or 4 days later, after several text/​email attempts on our end, while on our honeymoon we received the link to all of her photos of our first-​look shoot so we could select the one we wanted for print.
We selected a photo, but it never came. Some time later she provided a tracking number. We looked it up and it was being sent to a random city in TX nowhere near our location according to the tracking number she provided. After some communication and a few months she «sent» the package «again», but it never came, nor were we provided with a tracking number. She wondered if we had issues receiving shipments, yet we have received hundreds of packages with no issues. Interestingly enough, no tracking number has been provided in spite of several attempts to obtain one. I won’t go through all the details, because there have been SO MANY communication issues post-​wedding.
My wife spoke with a lawyer about the situation, the lawyer encouraged us to mention to Amanda that we were talking to them. We mentioned the conversation with the lawyer to Amanda in text and email and interestingly enough the following day we received a tracking number for a FedEx overnight shipment and the package (the canvas is beautiful). However, understandably so, Amanda wasn’t very friendly via text when she responded to our message. Also, she said she did not fulfill the request we gave to crop the photo we selected, but thankfully it was cropped. This day was January 22, 2015 (3 days shy of our one-​year anniversary). While we are thrilled to finally receive the final portion of our package, we are certainly dissatisfied with how long it took. We have been more than patient and understanding throughout this process and have countless emails and texts in our records that reflect our review — we have had minimal communication verbally over the phone.
As much as we like Amanda as a person and a photographer, we sadly cannot recommend her to capture your event simply because we can’t promise that your agreement will be met in a timely manner. If the communication would’ve been better and the product that we paid for up front would’ve been delivered in a considerable amount of time, we would certainly have given her a 5-​star review. We believe a 3-​star review is more than far. Also, we pray that our experience isn’t a common practice for Mulberry, as we sincerely hope they succeed and improve as they grow as individuals and a business.
