Papa John’s Pizza

We don’t get pizza often, and we get Papa Johns even less than that (they had a deal today because of the Rangers game, so we decided to give them another try). I never walk away from a PJs experience really satisfied. We’ve had pepperonis that tasted like dog food, and the quality overall isn’t as great as some other places (even other chains) in the area. Well tonight was the nail in the coffin.
I walked in to the tiny building and there were two guys on the phone and a manager I assume (black shirt among red shirts) in between them, looking at a map, trying to find an address for one of the phone guys. Not one of them looked up when I came in, despite the door chimes and the fact that I was two feet away — no chance they didn’t realize I was there. The black shirt guy — BS — found the address for the guy on the phone and then turned around and walked toward the back. No greeting, no «someone will be right with you», just walked away without looking at me. At this point, there was a guy behind me and we had both been waiting quite a while. One of the guys who had been on the phone hung up, and then he also turned around without acknowledging me, and walked away. BS had been chitchatting with another employee within eyesight, and then finally came back up to the front, asked the guy who was standing BEHIND me what the name was for his order, and helped him. Are you kidding me?
Then he asked me for my name, I hadn’t paid yet, he told me the total and I gave him some cash that needed change. He mumbled something about the guy (still on the phone) being «on the till». I said «I’m sorry?» and he repeated that that guy was on the till and I need to wait for him to hang up. Keep in mind there are two registers at the counter — not sure why only one has money in it. So after a few minutes, I dig through my wallet and luckily find exact change. I had been there for 10 minutes, even though my pizza was ready when I walked in. Terrible customer service and I won’t be back to PJs, at least not this location.

I have ordered pizza here many times. The pizza is consistent and well made. I love their garlic sauce! They always get my order 100% correct whether I am picking up or getting delivery. Will def eat here again!

Ordinary. I actually order pizza from here a lot. The food is usually pretty good. Although, they can be a bit stingy with some of their toppings. It definitely isn’t exceptional, but it’s what you would expect from pizza.

Your online ordering site was down so they wouldn’t take my promo code for a pizza at the store because I didn’t order it online I explained how their site was down it wasn’t taking the promo code and they didn’t care. So we went out for Chinese

Rediculous customer service! Walked in at 6:20pm and stood at the counter for 10 minutes in front of 15 people working behind the counter. Of the 15 people hammering out pizzas, about 9 of the 15 made eye contact. Not one of them acknowledged me. After 10 minutes of staring at a girl on the phone 2 feet from me without a word or even a «give me a moment sir.», another girl appeared from the back and finally acknowledged my presence! 10 minutes. Are you kidding me.

Pizza from this location was delivered within a reasonable amount of time and the pizza was exactly as expected… yummy!

I couldn’t agree more with Michael W’s review. They employed the most retarded people ever. I never ordered delivery from them because I know pick-​up is always faster and I live really close to this location. I don’t know this is only for this location or not but it’s ANNOYING! I made a phone order for XL pizza, half the works, half pepperoni… I want it thin crust, they said they don’t do thin crust on XL size. Ok, so I changed the orders to 2 medium, now they said they only do thin crust on Large. I cancelled the orders and ordered from Pizza Hut instead.

This isn’t the first time I had trouble with this Papa’s location, but it will be my last. I’m not sure if the order takers working here are screened to only allow morons and those with sub-​par intelligence to work the phones, but the evidence surely points to that …
May-​beeee, if Papa’s would turn down the volume on that infernal marketing message blaring out on their answering machine loop, they would actually hear what the customer is saying and get the order right. «Yes folks, it’s that easy!» Holy pizzoli, I had to listen to this brain-​decimating, Alzheimer’s inducing noise four or five times, each and every time I called to check on the «status» of my pie. Doesn’t anyone answer ther phone anymore? Is everything about marketing? Is cross promotion more important than the sale at hand? More important, is this the same announcer chick that Wendy’s uses? ANNOYING as hell.
«Uh, that was for pickup, right?» No, it was for delivery. I told the guy on the phone DELIVERY. Are you reading me? I said D-​E-​L-​I-​V-​E-​R-​Y! Delivery!
I guess it is just too much information for these retarded – ahhh, excuse me, «developmentally disabled» Papa people to retain in their short term memory, as the home office programs them to recite their stupid sales mantra every time they pick up the phone.
«Hello, Papa John’s, would you like to try our famous Asiago cheesy bread stuffed crust extra special Cowboys special topped with barbecue brisket and extra garlic goop endorsed by Michael Jackson himself, as seen in the movie Transformers, starring, blah, blah, blah, blah?»
No! I don’t want your special. I don’t want the combo-​meal. I do not wish to Super-​Size. I don’t want to upgrade to the next level. I don’t need toothpaste, candy, soap, dental floss, feminine hygiene spray or any of the myriad other useless gee gaws you are trying to foist upon me at the check out line. I don’t want ANY of it …
Most of all, I do not want your corporate speaker-​box-​drive-​thru-​maximize-​our-​profits push-​what-​we-​want-​to-​push-​upsell-​bullshit. I just want what I want, so please in the name of all that is holy, if you believe in any sort of God or that the universe was created by divine intelligence, allow me to order what I want and shut up.
Papa, are you listening? Please let the customer order what THEY want and LISTEN to them. Cut the Harvard business school high-​pressure marketing crap. It will go a long way towards getting the order right and making sure that a pizza doesn’t take two hours to get delivered.
