Best cheese burger I’ve ever had. Their chicken salad is really good too. Cute little neighborhood market.

Deli counter is the most fun to eat at for lunch. Hot plates and hamburgers and old school deli sandwiches of days gone by. Can’t beat the lunch price $ 7.99 for entrée two sides + bread. Chopped steak and gravy, roasted baked and fried chicken, meatloaf, chicken and brown gravy, sides of navy beans and ham hocks, hot corn medley, green beans, thin sliced potatoes + onions, yams, dirty rice, potato salad, broccoli salad, etc etc. Italian hoagie is made to perfection. Beautiful women behind counter joked the dude was a perfectionist making the sandwhich and yes she was right. These people can cook. Try the pineapple delight dessert. Just don’t buy it out if be pissed if it wasn’t any left. Adorable tables to eat at outside. And they are going to add indoor seating coming up. Quaint charming grocery store. Many locals bebop in buying up the steaks to grill In their nearby backyards. 70 years this place has some history. Neighborhood staying power. Pope worthy indeed. He’d love it

I do almost all of grocery shopping at Roy Pope. They have a great group of people working there. Always friendly and helpful. I only go to another grocery store if necessary. Like Sunday when Roy Pope isn’t open

Nothing like a great neighborhood store! What a throwback to the days of yonder! They actually greet you, no dang card needed, butchers are present and have your needs without the warehouse feel!

Roy Pope’s is a neighborhood grocery & market more like the ones those of who grew up in the 60’s and earlier might remember. NOTHING like the divey«convenience» stores you see everywhere these days, Roy Pope’s has a fresh meat counter, and they also cook up whole meals that you can pick up by the plate or side, ready to warm up; they will also cook up special orders as for catered affairs, and in fact, offer catering services, too. In addition, they offer a line of Roy Pope branded items, such as pickles, relishes, and a variety of dressings and sauces. You see the same people working there every time you go in, too, and they always seem genuinely glad to see you, a real, friendly, family neighborhood grocery store.

Fantastic butcher with what has to be the best beef in Fort Worth. The market and deli packs a lot of punch into such a small space, and of course the selection and service are optimal. It’s a great place to get the makings for a special meal. Don’t miss the T-bone, and if you’re ever going to cook a tenderloin this is your place. They trimmed the silverskin from ours so we wouldn’t be charged for that portion. I hesitated in holding back the 5th star but that’s only for pricing, which is basically necessary for a locally owned place. I think it’s worth it. Treat yourself.

Absolutely the best place to buy your meat in Fort Worth. They have Niman ranch steaks that are top quality. The ribs on Fri & Sat are the best ribs in town as well. Friendly staff and family owned, a great place to support.

Great local neighborhood market. Excellent service and an impressive selection for it’s size. I don’t do all my grocery shopping here, but this is where I go if I just need a few things on my way home from work. This place has been around since 1943 and I’m proud to support this locally owned market. That being said, it is a bit pricey. Air chilled, skinned chicken breasts were 7.49 $ today. They were excellent, but on par with Central Market and almost twice as much. Laundry detergent is about 40% more than Tom Thumb. They don’t carry wild game anymore which is a bummer. They said with so many locals hunting games themselves, stock just sat in the freezer. They have frozen buffalo ribeyes and are trying to get ground buffalo from some new suppliers. I do enjoy shopping here as they offer many Texas brands, local produce, and have an impressive meat department. When I am tired after work it is a pleasure shopping here; short walk to the door, no lines, no screaming kids, and help to your car with your purchases.
