This is a regular for our fam. We are happy when we get a booth out of the way; a waiter, who pays attention to our orders, seems content to be at work, and keeps our glasses full; a clean and sanitary restroom(we have admittedly, disturbingly, once walked in on one gnarly and irritating restroom scene here that should never occur in any public dining establishment EVER-no pictures I promise); and when there aren’t too many large groups of loud people nearby dominating the room’s amplified acoustics. In other words, the atmosphere and service teeters on the edge a bit. The food, however, is consistently good. Our favorite is the Maudeen’s Fillet Oscar(perfect when they do as they should and load it with the crab meat that the«fillet Oscar» refers to and that you do pay the extra for) and asparagus, with the Smokey mac and cheese and a side salad. The bread and honey butter is very tasty. They NEED more vegetarian friendly options! I know this is a steak place and its good at that. The steaks are great! But most of us have a friend or family member, who is a vegetarian these days, for health or other reasons and selections for these people just make it more accessible for the rest of us who want a steak, but also don’t want our dining companions sitting across the table staring and watching us eat after finishing their small baked potato and salad. Serving a vegetarian menu isn’t bending to trendy, fru-fru social pressure; on the contrary it says, we are confident enough in our steak slinging that we don’t have any issue with also catering to the slightly healthier needs of our also paying customers. Think on it! Don’t forget to hand off your Landry’s Select Card to your waiter when you sit down, so they«can get that started for you».

Horrible experience. Just wish Unilocal provided ¼ star, because it’s what this restaurant deserves. Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, this«eatery» disguises itself as a high end restaurant with an overpriced menu and a failed attempt at a classy southern cabin ambience, that is further underscored by an amateurish staff that, regardless of how well dressed or pressed the may strive to appear, have the level and understanding of customer service as that of a cheap 24 hour diner. What Jeremy, the 1 ½ year manager, fails to understand, is that a making customers wait 15 minutes for a previously made reservation, a commitment that was verified and confirmed twice, is UNACCEPTABLE! Failing to make a commitment for any amount of time is a FAILURE… period! There was zero genuine remorse for this failed commitment the moment I walked in… from the hostess’ insincere apology, lackluster explanation of a 15 min more wait, and in the same breath asked to help the next customer, to when Jeremy, instead of doing whatever he can do to diffuse the situation, was more disingenuous by trying to disguise his lack of compassion and lack of genuine hospitality by believing that if he says the words ‘sorry’ or ‘I apologize’ all the while with a demeanor and perception that conveys otherwise. It felt like I was speaking to a bouncer at a dive bar and not a manager of even a casual restaurant. I moved here from California recently, after retiring from the military, and the courtesy and service here in Texas has been like night and day, but this eatery has missed the mark. I get better service and southern hospitality at the Waffle House. If you have low standards and are willing to spend too much money on overpriced, medium quality food, laced with low-grade customer service… this is the place for you!

This is one of those times where when traveling based on a sent an invitation… I was invited to try Saltgrass Steakhouse in Ft. Worth, and much to my surprise both of the items that we selected they were completely out of… that is steak…, however due to the supportive co-orporation of the manager Kaitlyn, things turned for the better! Not only did she resolve our situation but also she provided us with the understanding and compassion that we come to appreciate from such a fine establishment as Saltgrass, even though I travel over 115 miles on Christmas Day to enjoy a steak dinner. Kaitlyn was amazing and I recommend this specific restaurant to all my friends immediately. The steak was prepared well the vegetables appealing and the service impeccable.

Was greeted by a random duck on the front porch, told this is normal because of the pond behind the restaurant.interesting. Once inside we were seated right away, a table in the back corner with views of random cowboy and Texas items covering the walls. Reminded me of a cowboy themed Applebees. Wanted to order a Coronarita, but not frozen. I was told they could try to do this but they didn’t seem to excited… opted for a beer instead. We ordered the Avocado Crab Stack and Crab Cakes for appetizers. The group loved the avocado crab stack. made up of spiced jumbo lump crabmeat layered with diced avocado & pico de gallo, crowned with a fresh chive & cilantro salad, served with tostada chips. The crab cakes were ok, nothing great. I ordered the Fried Coconut Shrimp for my main dish, slightly spicy coconut-battered shrimp. It was very good, crispy and flavorful… not very spicy. It came with a small side salad and a side of my choosing.(I went with fries, but barely touched them because there were so many pieces of shrimp) The only downfall of the dinner was when we tried to have the host call us a taxi. We were told she needed to get the manager to use the phone, she wasn’t allowed. Weird… It became this big issue to call a taxi or maybe their not used to a customer asking for such a request. I rate this place 3.5

Been here once, never will again. Food: 2.5÷5: my steak was fine(not great but not bad), but the other person had to send theirs back 3 times d/t overcook, burnt or something(idk) and then undercook… Alcohol not that good. Our waiter was awesome though.

The staff is friendly, bread is great, food is good but I just wish I didn’t repeatedly get home missing items! Don’t leave without checking your order!

On Friday a night at this restaurant we were able to get seated right away. Our server Karen greeted us right away and ordered a couple of appetizers which came very quickly. Salads came soon after and were very crispy and fresh. We all ordered steaks which came at great temperatures and well seasoned. The baked potatoe was huge as was the baked sweet potatoe. Overall the restaurant was busy, noisy but a good evening of dining.

When dining alone I always sit and eat at the bar. Bartender’s here very good. Prompt, friendly and just good. I like to eat my salad and wait a 5 –10 mins before I eat my dinner. You just tell them that and they will order your food when your ready. Of course food is pretty tasty. Saltgrass is always a good steak house. Period. Consistent quality. Always cooked properly.

Very subpar food, blue cheese dressing tasted like glue. Spinach salad was soggy and the service was terrible, prime rib was meh. The place was on a wait being three quarters full(staffing issue), parking lot packed, assuming maybe employees parked there. We decided to dine here because of its 4.5 star rating but we don’t want anyone else to be misled as we were.

I love the wedge salad and the other food is good too. The only bad experience we had was when my husband ordered a sweet potato with his dinner and it came out extremely burnt. Kinda cant believe they sent it out like that… maybe it was just an off day.

I worked for Saltgrass back in high school. I know from personal experience this is a clean and fresh place to eat. They are very organized in the back. The servers have to pass 8 tests including wine presentation to complete training. They really know the menu and the history! We had to and go tested on it often. The quality is all there. My favorite meal: Ribeye medium rare, loaded mash potatoes, and a Cesar salad. Mmmmm mm… please please please check out their desserts. They will bring you a tray with full size examples of what the desserts look like before you order. The potions are insane! I recommend the chocolate cake! This location has a deck located on the side of the building that overlooks a pond. Yes, it is normal to have a duck walk by your table. They aren’t a bother. They typically don’t come up to the patio, but occasionally they do. It is a beautiful spot to sit out and enjoy one of their fabulous cocktails. I absoultely love Saltgrass. I would recommend it over any other steak house in the area.

We love to go here for special occasions! The food here is darn near perfect every time we go. We have eaten here countless times and I can only think of 2 or 3 occasions we were not pleased. The service here is WAY above average… we have only gotten bad service here maybe twice. The mixed drinks are to die for and the desserts are the best a restaurant could offer! May I add that the bread they serve while you wait for your food is amazing? I could go on and on! Definitely a place you have to put on your bucket list if you have never been here!

Saltgrass aka the duck place as my kids call it was one of the first steakhouses I ate at in Texas when we moved here in 06. There is a pond with ducks behind the restaurant and my kids love to feed the ducks. When I ask them where do they want to eat they will say the duck place. We can’t just bring the ducks something from home. We have to eat here. Mama doesn’t mind though. They will order a burger and will save their fries and burger bun for the ducks! Saltgrass has this white queso with brisket in it. I turned my nose up at it several times because brisket and queso together just sounds weird. I finally got it one time and it was soooo good. It goes with the old saying«don’t knock it til you try it.» I’ve had pretty much all of their steaks. The rib eye, steak kabobs, NY Strip, Porterhouse, Tbone, and Maudeen’s filet. The filet is my favorite, but all of the steaks are flavorful. The steaks aren’t the only thing that’s good here. I’m not a fan of coconut, but the coconut shrimp is great! I love the BBQ shrimp enbrochette. Shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeño wrapped in bacon! The chopped steak, the pork chops, and grilled chicken are all good. I’ve never had a bad meal at Saltgrass. The dessert is just crazy. They don’t give you a slice of cake, it’s damn near the whole cake.

Tried Saltgrass for the first time last night and holy cow, it was delicious! They were SUPER busy which I found odd for a Sunday at 8pm but it wasn’t any problem, we were seated immediately. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our server to come over which is why I gave it 4 stars. Even though the food was excellent, our service was not. She was nice but seemed really uninterested in helping us. We had the Avocado Crab Stack and it was amazing! My boyfriend ordered a ribeye with a wedge salad and I got a blue cheese filet with a wedge salad. We both really enjoyed our entrees and salads! I will definitely order that filet again! I love the western atmosphere, feels very homey. Overall it was a great experience.

Working out of town you usually want something comfortable and familiar… this is what I got. My usual crab stack appetizer and a gin & tonic. Yummy. The crab stack is crab, avocado and fresh pico– I love it. What made this a great experience was the bartender. He was smart, and just the right amount of knowledge of the area to help me with ideas to make my week in Fort Worth fun. I will definitely stop back when I’m in town.
