Sheraton Fort Worth Downtown Hotel

This is my third stay in this hotel. Last year, the hotel was under renovation. This year, it appears to be finished… With much nicer rooms and a wonderful gift shop and restaurant. The rooms are large and spacious, very well-​kept, no odors at all.
I would complain about parking, except for it’s downtown :-) so just expect the parking to be bad. Some rooms have great views of the water garden.
Our experience with the staff has been excellent. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who needs to stay near the downtown Dallas Fort Worth area.

This hotel is mediocre at best because of their guest service. The rooms are nice but simple upgrades, such as popcorn ceilings, have not been updated. However, this is not why I have given the hotel 2 stars. The hotel does not accommodate guests with odd work hours by not providing 24 hour room service. I was also awoken very early by a woman incessantly knocking on my door asking when I would be checking out. Check out was at 12, so I would have appreciated the assumption that I would be checking out at the designated time or a phone call rather than someone waking me to ask about something that should have been assumed.

Five stars, all for the front desk staff. The young woman who helped me today was incredibly patient and kind. Excellent customer service may not be all a business needs, but it sure does make up for many flaws. Thank you for your welcoming personality!

Amazing service. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here Valentine’s Day weekend. I had a lot of requests/​complaints about our room and they changed it to a room with a better view. The hotel is very luxurious, we especially enjoyed the pool. They even found and returned our stuffed chicken, McNuggets, who got left under the blankets in the room. They wrote us the sweetest note thanking us for our visit; which we really did not deserve when we were such a pain. This experience will make me stay at Sheraton hotels again.

Wonderful staff… very friendly and accommodating! The renovations made over the past year are impressive. Love the new look of the lobby. Comfortable room and bed.

Permanent and very loud humming noise in 220, coming from an engine or a chiller outside. I informed the management and they offered to check the noise and eventually relocate us. After four hours I had to go and ask them once more to come and check, at which point they say they can’t do anything because they don’t have even a single room left. Please note this is a 499 $/​night room with a view over a dirty backyard and a wall! I have never had such a poor service and such unprofessional people at a Sheraton. Be kind to yourself and get a room in Omni, on the other side of the convention center.

Nice location but more cons than pros.
There seemed to be a party on every floor so don’t plan on sleeping as the walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbor’s until 3am. We also had family staying several floors up from us with the same problem.
No hot water in the shower and no working irons after trying irons from several rooms!

Not bad but not a hotel to write home about.
I stayed here for a night on a work trip. The biggest pro is the location! Right across from the water gardens and just down the street from the convention center. Another pro, comfortable beds! The room was set pretty cool and thankfully didn’t have that hotel moldy lingering smell.

I had so many hopes that my stay here would be great. I was welcomed very warmly by the front desk staff, and though they ran out of club level rooms, they did generously offer club access — which I very much appreciate for the beverage selection they have and quick snacks.
They have dedicated spots for SPG Elites to park in the garage. This was a first for me. And appreciated. I loved how easy it was to move from my car to my room. No valet here. I prefer to park my own car whenever possible anyhow.
The location is fantastic right at the southside of downtown across the street from the remarkably enchanting Water Garden. I highly recommend checking it out — both during the day and night.
Room itself was among the largest Sheraton rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I was thrilled when I walked in. Well appointed for the late 80’s. Everything was in order and not damaged. Also had the the new technology for controlling the tv with your smartphone which I love.
What ruined this stay for me was one very poorly overlooked room service cleaning item. I got out of the shower on the first morning of my trip and grabbed a towel. It gets gross from here. But needless to say, what I grabbed was a very dirty and soiled towel, neatly folded into the stack. It was horrifying. That ruined my stay. Attempted to bring it up at checkout, but I was rushed and didn’t care to receive an apathetic response from the front desk staff, which by this time had changed quite a bit from the friendly staff encountered when I arrived.

This hotel is central to almost everything. Best reason yet? It’s right across from The Water Garden.
The walkability this hotel offers to d/​t Fort Worth is pretty awesome. Granted it’s not in Main St. where all the restaurants are but this is pretty close by. I walked the d/​t area from this hotel and I wasn’t even tired.
Their Starwood Preferred Floor is on the 10^th floor as well as their lounge. You can get free breakfast at the Starwood Lounge every morning. Bacon, eggs, cereal, soda, lots of bottled water and juice. They also have two big tv’s. A computer and a printer is ready for you to use as well.
Great staff. Friendly and eager to help. They offer a special parking space for SPG members but that space is pretty much limited and can only park about 7 cars? Self park is $ 20/​day. With the gift of two tickets for a free house wine at the lobby bar when you check in and bottled waters in the room the Sheraton is in some aspects better than other SPG hotels. Although this property is somewhat old and in need of a modern upgrade. The bathrooms are pretty small and dark but the bed is very comfortable. What I appreciate the most is that the television is placed where it should be. Right across from you at the foot of the bed and not to your right or to your left.
Sadly their water pressure is annoying me. I want it stronger.

Very nice hotel for a Sheraton. The staff were all very friendly & the room was clean & comfortable, even though we had a view of a brick wall & air conditioner or something. We are honors members, so the parking situation was good for us, but there is no valet??? Odd. The parking space was kinda hard to get out of & its lucky they have foam pieces on the concrete beams so cars don’t get scratched.
Overall, a decent stay.

I keep hearing that all sheratons are getting huge upgrades… someone forgot to tell this place!
It feels outdated, not a fan. The rooms are clean, but the carpet looks like it was put there 20 years ago. Who thought brown was a good color scheme for a hotel room?
The club lounge is very nice and spacious. The gym and pool are nice as well — that’s the only thing saving this place!
If you are SPG, this is your only choice around here, but just know that it won’t be as good as other updated SPG properties

I didn’t actually stay at the hotel (I live in Fort Worth) but I stop by here often. You see, I’m a Volksmarcher (a noncompetitive walker) and the Downtown Fort Worth walk begins at the Sheraton.
The staff here is super friendly. Even though I’m not a paying guest, everyone greets me and asks how they can help. When I’m walking out the door, they wish me a good walk; when I’m returning, they ask how my walk was. It feels like they genuinely care.
This place is super clean. The restrooms are cleaned regularly The women’s restroom is often cleaned in the two hours I’m walking. Today I witnessed both the bar being cleaned and vacuuming.
The hotel is in a very convenient location. It’s right across the street from the Water Gardens. It’s only a couple of blocks from the train/​bus station. It’s near the UTA FW campus. The Bass Music Hall is just down the road. It’s only a few blocks from all the restaurants and downtown happenings.
The hotel is newly renovated. They changed out the colors and décor of their public spaces. It’s much more spacious now with lovely groupings of furniture that makes it easy to meet-​and-​greet.
While I have never stayed here, I do recommend it to out-​of-​town visitors. I feel safe here.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay over the past week. My room was kept up well over the duration of my visit, was always clean, and the staff were very friendly and warm, especially the wonderful TCU women working during the afternoon and evening. They made me feel special and at home without crossing lines, which made the stay all the better.
I will say that the business center is lacing greatly. It’s time to get rid of quota printing and crappy Internet… this is an inexpensive area to improve life substantially for your guests. If I need to print six sheets, I shouldn’t have to jump through 100 hoops and still have it not print. Just have a printer available and let people do what they need to do — trust me, it easily averages out.
There are other areas for improvement, but mostly requiring substantial investments in amenity upgrades. This was an excellent mid range hotel experience.

This road warrior thinks the hotel is so-​so. The hotel appears to have been around for a while and the décor is tired and mundane. Definitely no wow factor in this place. The restaurant/​bar is equally drab and routine. The rooms are standard and I hate their pillows. I think you’ll find a review that mentions the pillows and I will have to agree with that reviewer.
Its located away from the downtown area, restaurants and bars. Not a walking distance either. You’ll need a short ride into town and then deal with the lack of parking downtown. I think you can catch a free bus service into the downtown area or ask the desk for the hotel shuttle.

This hotel was okay, but not the best. After reading some of the reviews below, I realize I had a better experience than most. The staff was nice and attentive, never had a problem with that. We got a king size bed suite and the rooms are pretty spacious! The place is nice, but some areas look like they could use new furniture. We only stayed a night, so we didn’t have time to check out the spa, pool or hot tub. I did like the location of the hotel. Right across the street is the Fort Worth Water Gardens, which are pretty cool to check out. The room was a little pricey (well at least for a broke 23 year old). All in all not a terrible place to stay.

Will not be staying here anytime soon. The service is lack luster all around. First our room wasn’t ready when we arrived and had to be called at leas an hour later to form back. Then went to the gift shop for Tylenol later and the girl was on her phone texting. She stood when I entered the store but kept texting. She finally told me that they didn’t take credit cards at the moment. So we would have to put it on the room or cash. She couldn’t even find us on the room list so she went to get another list and left me in the store for a few minutes alone. Still not on there when she returned with another list. I had to take the medicine to the front desk and they had no idea that the gift shop couldn’t take cc’s. So this morning we go to have the club breakfast because it’s supposed to be served until 10:30 via the website. We get there right after 10 and the lady says we just missed it. That it has stopped at 10 for years. We complained to the manager and she offered breakfast at the restaurant but at this point we were ready to leave. We were celebrating our one year anniversary at the same hotel we staid at for our wedding. It’s unfortunate but I think there are way too many options around the area to settle for this place.

Venue Rental Review: We reserved a room for a baby shower at this location. The event staff was thorough in their communication and documentation. Diana answered any and all questions I had regarding the venue and menu request for the food. The kitchen did an amazing job with the food. The room rental was affordable. The food cost was a little high but the convenience of not having to bring anything in was beyond worth it. Thank you!

So I travel the country doing photo assignments for various companies. Often the client houses me. This hotel is going under a series of renovations but still looks very dated. It will take quite a bit of money to turn this into a 4 – 5 star hotel. The check in desk is just 10 steps from the front doors. The length of the lobby is very narrow and very long. The lobby music is a bit loud. My room is nice but not as nice as it could be. Plenty of room and ceilings have that popcorn paint. (not sure what you call it). The workout area was moved downstairs and its it so lacking in weights. It only has dumb bells and some treadmills and a bike. Not very user friendly and very claustrophobic in size. The pools is big but again it lacks style and the lighting is dull and low. I hope after the renovations it will shine. I hope. Now the bar and restaurant was fine and the food was good.

This place is kind of a dump. And by «kind of a dump» I mean that it is a f*ing dump. Granted, they are renovating, so that will help. Hopefully they find a way to make the lobby feel less like a mental institution. The pool/​hot tub area is bleak. Like, BLEAK. The desk agent was very nice, and he upgraded us to a suite and gave us access to the Club Lounge, so that was nice. Our room was on a floor that had already been renovated, so at first blush it was quite lovely.
Then I noticed the popcorn ceiling (which always makes me feel a bit of mesothelioma coming on) and that two of the bed’s four posters were shoved up against the sprinkler bulkhead (and that this heinous ceiling was quite low).
What really mattered, however, follows:
1. The bedding was awful.
2. The door didn’t fit properly in the jamb so it was still pretty bright in the room with the lights off.
3. There was an adjoining door that seemed to be made of paper, because I could hear my neighbor’s insomniacal TV watching as if I were watching TV myself.
4. The windows were so caked in mud you almost couldn’t tell that the view was of a train yard.
There were a couple of good things though:
1. There was a large and comfortable sectional sofa in the room that was great for hanging out in the room.
2. Basic WiFi is free and was sufficiently fast to watch Netflix. Not bad.
I only stayed here because I was attending a wedding in Fort Worth and this was the closest SPG hotel to the venue. Otherwise I never would have booked at this hotel. Side note: we were upgraded so it’s irrelevant to me, but they charge you more for a room with one king bed as opposed to two queens. I’ve never seen that and it is stupid. Also they charge for parking. Lame.
