Steak ‘n Shake

We went for breakfast. After waiting an hour they told us they couldn’t serve us breakfast it was too hard. Don’t go for breakfast. We had to leave

Food is great… But the wait for service is not… We sat there a while waiting for someone to even come ask us what we want to drink… He brought our drinks and then we never saw him again. I had to go ask for a refill myself. When our food came out a different waiter brought it to us we had to get our shake to go because they had taken so long to get anything… Then we asked for a to go drink and the actual waiter we started with brought it to us and didn’t bother to wipe it off after spilling the drink all over the cup…
The food is so good but the service is so so so so SO bad…

Good food, great prices, but it says a lot about the place that I never want to eat there. Service is awful, orders take forever and often get mixed up, and sometimes the servers just forget about you (like the time I ordered a shake, and it sat on the counter for half an hour before the waiter brought it to us). Every once in a while we’ll get lucky and get good service, but expect to spend an hour and a half there if you plan to go.

Not the best steak & Shake. 9:30 Saturday night was very busy, very slow and cooked poorly. Everyone who worked here was confused as all get out. There was a girl selling candy table to table. the portions of chili Mac seemed extremely small.

Go to a different location because the high turnover of employees explains why the food is so so at best.

If zero stars were possible this would get it. Sat in here twenty minutes with waters and no one ever came around to get our order. This location should just be shut down. Service is beyond terrible. Waste of time.

This locations service is absolutely terrible ! Took 45 min to get cold food ! Food was not cooked correctly ! Asked for manager and they were to busy to talk with customer ! 100% failure !

Every time my friends and I come here we get nothing but the worst possible service. Do not come here.

Slow service and no one is cleaning off the tables. One of our orders was wrong and had to hand carry back to the counter to get it corrected.
Service has never been good here, but today is terrible.

One star for effort. My family went in at 10pm on a Thursday, there was one server doing drive thru and the inside. There were a table of 8 and then my table of 3 so it wasnt even that busy. So when we first walk in this rude teenager proceeds to carry on and finish up her pointless conversation in front of us while we wait for her to greet and take us to a table. When we finally get sat down, it takes our server about 15 minutes to come over and greet us, she rushes us to order our food and drinks. We hurry and order, feeling bad for the poor lady, as the hostess is standing around doing nothing. It takes her another 20 minutes just to get a water and coke to our table. After another 20 minutes of waiting and watching people from drive thru come in and complain, we decided to just spare her and get up and leave. Horrible, and we’ll most likely never be back.

Steak and Shake carries a reputation for being open late at night and dishing out hot made-​to-​order food fairly quickly. Well, they went one-​for-​three this visit.
We walked in the door and followed the directions of the «Please wait for hostess to seat you» sign. After about five minutes of being ignored, the manager finally told us to seat ourselves. We did so, and then we spent the next ten minutes wondering when our server would show up. When she did, we put in both our drink and food order. We received it a fair while later.
We ordered a Frisco Melt and a Double and Cheese. The food would have been good if it had been delivered 10 minutes earlier, as the sandwiches were lukewarm and the shoelace fries were cold.
Directly after finishing the meal, we put in a request for a milkshake. At the 30 minute mark, I began to wonder about starting a fire at the table and re-​send our milkshake order via smoke signal to see if that would speed it along. Finally, after about 45 minutes (even the ice in our soda glasses had melted), our waitress approached us asking whether we needed anything else. The milkshake had apparently gotten lost in the shuffle, and it came out about 10 minutes later. She checked on us twice in quick succession after the milkshake was delivered, but we had to flag her down 20 minutes after we finished the shake to get the check. While the orders were lethargic, she was unfailingly nice. We cashed out soon after that.
While I appreciate that there were only three workers there when we started and two when we left, there were never more than 10 people in 3 parties to attend to in the dining room. The drive-​through might have been busy, but I have a hard time believing that the customers who eat in the dining room (and leave tips) should be the absolute last priority. All in all, it took us 2 ½ hours to get a meal that ought to take no more than 45 minutes. I don’t fault the workers overmuch for this; some of the blame probably lies in corporate policy. I appreciate Steak and Shake and the niche it fills, and I will likely come back, but not because of this experience.

Seriously? First time I’ve ever been to a Steak ‘n Shake, and I’m incredibly disappointed. I ordered a #6, the cheesy cheddar (?), which is supposed to have EXTRA cheese– right??? LOL. BIG JOKE. There was one TINY joke of a piece of cheese (pic included), as well as the whole order– including the fries– being cold. This is ridiculous. And the young lady working the drive-​thru was horrendous. She had an attitude the entire time, and barely opened the window to talk to me, and hand me my order. I’m honesty surprised this place is still open if this is how they run their business. I will not be returning.

Amazing food! The triple steak burger was delicious! Salted caramel pretzel shake was yummy! And you can’t beat the price! 2 burgers with fries, drinks, an extra plate of fries, and a medium shake for $ 20?! You can’t beat that!

Cheeseburger was very good but wait staff and kitchen is very slow. Do not stop in if you are pressed for time.

Food was fine but waitstaff is amazingly slow and non-​attentive. I was seated right away and ignored for almost 7 full minutes. Watched my meal sit in the window for 5 minutes before the waitress saw me watching her and she finally delivered. I boycotted this chain when I lived in another state and after today I will never be back.
They need new management and people to work here who actually give a crap about their job. In my experience I have never seen such lackluster performance. Disappointing.

Stuck in the drivethru (no way out once you’re in) for 45 minutes with only 2 people in line in front of me when I arrived and my food was horribly cold. Won’t return.

Steak and shake, this is your 50’s dinner feel food chain, burger, fries and shake. But don’t get me wrong, it’s more than burger and shakes.
You can order: chili, hot dogs, different kinds of burgers, fries, chili cheese fries or cheese fries, soda pop or many many milkshake flavors plus more.
This location used to be great busy friendly staff. But the time it was bad. Our waitress seemed bother to work. But we ordered and went to our business. Half got their milk shakes like 5 – 10 minutes later we got my cherry coke and the other milkshakes. We place our order and didn’t realized long it was taking until a father made a huge seen about how we were getting our food and he was still waiting to place his family and his order.
As he was going on, I was out of my drink, I was trying to get my waitress attention for a refill but one of the other waitress got me. Our waitress came by and was pleading her case but honestly we didn’t care, take care of us your customers.
The food was good but the waiting staff not so good. But I would return, you know redemption. Second change and the food was good.

I am sad that my favorite horseradish burger is gone but western BBQ burger is good. I’ve been here many times for a hangover burger. They cook the food fresh so it takes a little longer than most drive through places. I would rather wait a few more minutes for fresh.

Food is cheap, the location is 24 hour.
Main complaint is the Claw Machine is rigged to not allow anyone to win the Casio GShock watch.
It’s a bummer. And everyone knows the machine is in-​Winnable. The Owner is greedy to not allow winnings from the Claw game
