Al pastor is the only decent thing here besides the beans and chips. The salsa is watery and the quality of most things is inconsistent. Very nice staff. Great for a hangover.

Very disappointed on the taste of meats. We had carne asada, chicken, pastor, barbacoa tacos and gorditas there was no flavor on the meats. The services started ok but as soon as we got the food no one came back to see if we needed Anything

The service was horrible. The pastor looked nothing like pastor and it tasted like eggs. The prices are a little bit to pricey for what the food is really worth. The quesadilla cheese tasted kinda expired. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing authentic Mexican fare! Recommend the Al Pastor meat. There seems to be a lot of changes at this San Luis: new paint, new frequent diner card, salsas seem to be freshened up, service seems improved. Not sure if there’s new management or just an overhaul but things keep getting better. Don’t expect super fancy but expect delicious.

Coming here is kind of like gambling, if you’re lucky you can hit a jackpot on portions and freshness. However, other times you will receive 3 worthless pieces of scraps on a dry tortilla. Same goes with the service, some waiters go above and beyond, where as others leave you wondering if you are eating at Taco Bell. I’ve had my share of all of the above.

This is by far my favorite San Luis location! The tortas are delicious and loaded, service is quick. Make sure you get some charro beans with your food! I’ve been eating here for years and don’t have one complaint.

I have been eating at this place for about two years. My wife and I come here when we want authentic Mexican tacos. The champion is the al pastor. Whether it is a torta or taco or gordita; the al pastor meat is great. On the other hand, over the last 6 months the service has gone way down. The waitress does the bare minimum and any request is a huge bother. If the al pastor wasn’t soooo good I wouldn’t come back here but there is no other place with tacos this good(in Texas).

They served me spoiled chicken, I recommend you stay away from here, I’m sure they are on the verge of a health code violation!!!

Espanol only… at least when we were there. 4 years of high school Spanish finally came in handy for me. Awesomeness on a greasy platter, what can I say? This place is pretty authentic. Love their carne asada and al pastor. Chicken not so much, but that was my own mistake in ordering it. I’ll be back for some of their tortas looks delish!

Good authentic mexican tacos. Tried the Tacos al Pastor and Asada. The Asada is as good as any other place in Mexico. The Pastor could be better, however, not bad. Would recommend to someone looking for authentic mexican food.

I wasn’t sure what to do with Chips and Salsa… there was this tomatoe-y liquid and a bowl of chopped onions and cilantro… So I mixed them together… but that didn’t taste good. I did get the Pork Torta and it was great. I’ll go back for that, but not for the chips and salsa.

This is a great taqueria. Two tacos with chips and two different hot sauces for $ 3.50. Awesome. The tacos are made with greasy corn tortillas and really good meat. Get the al pastor and the carnitas. Their tortas looked really good too.

This is the 3rd store opened by the family in Fort Worth(I have also been to the first, located on Seminary) and I have eaten here for many many years. It seems they now have a flash website and a franchise, wow. Back when I first started eating there in the mid 90s it was just a hole-in-wall taco place(granted it still pretty much is.) Now the special thing about San Luis, aside from the memories, is the authenticity of their Tacos al Pastor. If you’re not Mexican: al Pastor is a special way they cook and marinate pork. It is very yummy and a specialty of northern Mexico. For detailed info go to the restaurant’s website(it’s also in English.) At any rate I’ve had tacos al pastor from the very best of places in Monterrey, and these are very very good! You get an order of 4 tacos(loaded with meat) plus charro beans(very spicy) for $ 5.75! It’s really amazing. Drawbacks: in the summer the small place is VERY hot and uncomfortable. To go orders can get soggy tortillas once you get home. The salsa is too spicy and not flavorful enough, IMO. And the waitresses can be a little spacy. Still, this is the best place I’ve found in town to get tacos al pastor, so yes I will continue coming back when I get a craving: D
