I’ve eaten there four times and Library Café is my new favorite place to eat! Everything ive eaten was great and the portions are large enough to share or bring home! The service was great each time I’ve visited.

Had lunch here yesterday. Great service and a very good burger. The Gert’s Bean Pot soup was also excellent.

Just attended the newly opened Library Café and was very impressed. For an area with very few good restaurants, this café was a breath of fresh air. The food is very fresh and delicious, with vegetarian options:). The atmosphere is very comfortable, with a funky antique tea room vibe, that moves into a even funkier jazz/poetry vibe at night. THOUGH, their tea options are scarce(only offering unsweetened iced tea), with hopes this is due to its recent development… An assortment of teas and BYOB(informed they are working towards the BYOB) is necessary to match their ambiance(cloth napkins would also be great). Besides the tea &BYOB dilemma this place is a great little spot, give it a try and let’s get the East side thriving!

The Library really does reflect the word wonderful. Food, atmosphere and staff all equate to you having a wonderful time here. In addition, proceeds go to the local school and to a school in Africa. I have eaten three times now with friends and all have enjoyed what they have ordered so try out their healthy and organic menu. Most important, try their sheet cake!

We had our first visit to the Library Café this evening. We were pleasantly surprised as soon as we entered the restaurant. We were greeted by a cheerful young lady that gave us our choice of seating. We selected a table with a general view. The menu is printed on a single sheet, possibly because they are experimenting with popular items. Although a rather small selection, the range of offerings was diverse. There appears to be a bit of Louisiana flavoring influence but hard to tell. They had their grand opening around June 1, 2015. We waited to see a few reviews. I started with the Chicken and Sausage Bean soup, and my guest had the Tomato Basil Cream soup. Her regret was getting a cup instead of a bowl. I had water and she had the root beer. The soft drinks are«organic»? Not sure what that meant but it was good. I selected the Blackened Catfish Hoagie(it was well seasoned) and she had the Classic Burger. There was a spice in the burger like a Cajun flavor. The Fresh Cut Fries are exactly that with skin. The Black Bean and Corn Salad was crisp and fresh. The mack and cheese was a wonderful mixture of cheeses and noodles. For dessert we split the Lemon cake. It was not to much lemon — just right. Now for the fun part. They have scheduled jazz performers that start at 8:30 pm. on those nights, the restaurant is open later for those events. I think they told me there is a cover charge on those evenings. If I understood correctly, Friday night is «open microphone.» They have BYOB but currently do not serve alcohol. Signage is difficult to see. It looks like it is part of The Potters House since it sits under the sign advertising for lease space. The place was extremely clean and decorated to look partly like a reading room in — you guessed it «Library». We plan on returning to sample the other menu items and bring some friends.
