Looked like a really cool place as I walked in, writing reviews like this makes me sad because I usually get very good service at any bar, if the servers weren’t to busy talking to the local bar patrons they might have noticed that I needed another beer, without having to actually move to order another beer, crazy, really was hoping for more Texas hospitality, guess not! On the plus size the beer tastes like beer and it was cheap,

This place gets a lot of flack, and it is certainly divey, but I’ve always had a pretty good time. Yes it’s smokey(very smokey actually, if that’s a deal breaker, maybe it’s not for you) and unless they are having a night where they put out free food, there’s no eats. However, you can bring outside food in. And for watching sports, this place is fantastic, it has over 20 TVs and a couple of projector screens. As far as rowdiness goes, I saw a fight break out once before it was quickly broken up, and otherwise loud, intoxicated people are generally part of the appeal of going to a bar. One last note, great for Steelers fans. I’m am most definately not one, but they show up in droves to watch games here.

Went ot Woodys Tavern Sunday night to watch The Ranger Game. It’s in the back of a strip mall, kinda odd, but we thought, what the heck. We went in, and were immediately greeted by a very nice bouncer. Nice to have some security. The waitress came right over and took our drink order. The drinks were good and CHEAP. For a crown/7& a vodka cherry sour, $ 4 for both. Me likey! Downside, place is smokey, and several of the patrons were obviously drunk, but we had no problems. The overserved dudes were obnoxious. For the drink prices, it woulda been 4 stars, but the smoke and drunken fellas made it go to 3 stars. That being said, I will be back

I have been to Woody;s a few more times and since my last review their have been parking lot gang fights and one night several vehicles in the parking lot were robbed with windows smashed out of at least 4 of them. The cigarette smell seems to get worse with each visit, I am disappointed because it’s close to home and not many other options. I have been going to other spots lately and probably won’t return.

Great drink specials, great staff and a very laidback atmosphere. There’s pool, darts, shuffleboard, trivia and at least ten TVs. I go here to kick it with my friends and meet people. Lots of fun and great crowd.

I know, I am giving a generic sports bar four stars, I should be ashamed, especially as this place only has peanuts to eat. What it does have on a Sunday night is decent drinks at a really good price, including Kraken rum for a call, TV screens full of sports and an internet jukebox that allowed us to freak out the kids with early seventies grunge and metal, with the odd bit of opera thrown in to jack with the hip hop horrors. Pool, shuffleboard, and trivia games rounded out the fun, but it is really all about the booze and the peanuts. Good bartenders, mostly friendly patrons and some of the restaurant people came in around midnight to liven the place up a bit.

Stopped in to watch the first round of NCAAs. Hungry and thirsty thinking I could hang for a few hours drink a few beers and eat a decent bar meal. Looks like the perfect place for a sports bar meal, you know the ones, gooey cheese sticks or chilli fries, followed by a cheeseburger, wings or cheesesteak? Sorely dissappointed, no food, huh, a sportsbar without bar food, impossible, sure enough I had to walk to Joes for a sub. Beer was cold and direct Tv allowed me all the games which was awesome. Seems like Woody’s is a perfect palce to watch games, lots of big screens, little screens, lots of screens! Cold beer, but no food knocks this sports bar out for me. I think it’s more of a music/sports spot as they have a nice band stand and I know have plenty of live music but the no food adn plenty of smokes kills this one for me.
