Skyline Chili

I love Skyline just as much as the next Cincinnatian. This location is my go-​to because it’s closest to home for us. Service is good here, quick and friendly, and the food is delicious and consistent, like any other location I’ve been to. However, the last 3 – 4 times I’ve been in to this Skyline and have ordered something to drink, the glasses they have served my drink in have smelled like mildew. I don’t know if this is just because they have been using and washing the same glasses for years upon years, but it is really unpleasant to take a sip from your straw and smell mildew in your glass. Just a tip: ask for a to-​go cup for your drink when you order so you don’t encounter the same problem that I’ve been encountering!

Skyline is tops for me. Service is always quick, efficient and friendly and prices are reasonable. For me, nothing beats that cool, shredded cheddar on top of a coney, but don’t forget about the 3-​ways either!

Excellent service today and, as always, delicious food. Our server Charity was quick to refill our drinks and crackers, and handled our order with speed and accuracy. Manager Doug was extremely pleasant to interact with when he took our payment. Friendly and helpful, including going above and beyond with helping me purchase some skyline to take home. I grew up loving Skyline Chili, and this location is for sure my favorite. It tastes the best out of all the Skylines I’ve ever been to. The waiters/​waitresses are always friendly and strike up conversations with you. I suggest ordering a 3-​way dry and some chili cheese fries.

Full disclosure– I live in California. We do not have this chain in California. I ordered the small Chilli 4 ways (spaghetti, chilli, cheese, and onions) and later on the Chilli cheese Coney dog. Under that mountain of shredded cheddar was spaghetti in one playe and a chilli dog in the other. Chilli was not spicy (like I am used to), more like savory, but yet different enough that you can tell you are not eating a meat sauce with your spaghetti. Somehow the flavors work. Chilli was tasty, as was the Coney dog. Next time I am in the area I will also try Gold Star Chilli to see what the rivalry the locals tell me the two chains have is about. Service was excellent!

I’ve eaten here twice on the way south on vacation.
I used to work with a guy who grew up in Cincinnati, and in the cooler months of the year we’d talk him into bringing a vat of his own recipe Cincinnati chili to work. That was pretty good although he used a touch too much cocoa powder and cinnamon in his concoction for my preference.
So I was anxious to try Skyline Chili when my travels took me near the Queen City.
I thought Skyline Chili was solidly good. Not great. A little bland for my taste, but really still pretty good and a good value for the money. I always order the 5 way chili and take a bottle of their hot sauce home with me. The hot sauce is pretty mild and reminds me of the Bull Louisiana hot sauce we used to get in the Army.
They do serve the spaghetti with chili absolutely buried under a mountain of shredded cheese. The first time I was there I enjoyed watching a little girl (18 months old or so) trying to eat a coney dog and throwing cheese everywhere and giggling.
The last time I was in there I had a saucy middle aged waitress lady who brought me a bib with dinner because she claimed I would need it. She was almost right. ..

Woah Real Chili (Milwaukee) step a side. This place is awesome. The Coney is an awesome bite size hot dog with cheese mustard, and onion. And the cheese! DAMN it’s stacked high, really high. I think any Wisconsinite would be shocked to see the shear amount on a platter. I took a 3-​way as well and was stuffed. The staff is polite and quite friendly. Let’s just say I cannot wait for my visit to Northern Kentucky. Cheers + guys and thanks!!!

Best comfort food. Can’t go wrong with ordering much of anything here. Fast service and clean restaurant. My favorite is a chilito with spaghetti inside!

OK so finally got to try the famous Skyline chili over spaghetti. Gotta say, was very good. Excellent comfort food. I went with cheese only, no onions. The sauce is hardly what midwesterner’s think of chili. Much better really. A very fine sauce with little bits of stuff in it and has this slighbtly beefy and cinnamon taste. Was more like a rich spaghetti sauce than a chilit but was real good especially when that mountain of cheese melts into it. I will hit these everytime I come to this part of the country from now on.

Skyline Chili is a unique taste that you must try. I heard this unique chili has chocolate in it! I luv chocolate and I luv skyline chili. I always get the three way (chili, spaghetti and a mound of cheese) yummy! The more cheese the better. You can also add onion and beans to make the dish more spectacular ! The service at this location is always fast a and friendly. It must be near a school because a lot varsity school teams are always eating here. I turned my fiancé on to Skyline now he’s addicted to the tender smaller chili dogs. Try it you might like it. There’s plenty of seating and free refills!

Sarah Jessica Parker loves skyline and so do we. Chili on spaghetti so not your norm. Order 3 way, 4 way or 5 way. (Cheese, onions, beans) has cinnamon and allspice in it… not your lumpy Texas chili.

As skylines go this one is straight out of the early 90’s. Probably a converted Hardee’s.
But it has a drive thru and the great table service one expects of their chili parlor.
Really kid friendly. They must have at least 15 highchairs and booster seats. There are always families dining everyone I’m here.

Horrible, just absolutely horrible. First timers to Skyline. Drove from Chicago and was excited to try this place. After multiple attempts to actually find a Skyline, all I can say is I am disappointed.
As a lover of all things chili and cheese related, this place was a let down. Though I appreciated the generous serving of cheese, I couldn’t help but notice how much the cheese attempts to cover the «taste» of the hot dog.
The chili wasn’t really anything amazing and my hot dog was cold. I had to ask the waitress to warm it up in the microwave for me. My roommate took one bite, and pushed her plate away. Luckily she ordered a salad, which ended up being doused in buffalo sauce.
The waitress was nice and so excited that we could not help but smile at her. Instead, I will directly contact the manager next week. It’s just frustrating paying for dinner at one place to have to go pay for dinner at another…

5 stars for a Skyline! It is the cleanest and most friendly one in NKY. And for you Tourists, this is not Chili. It is a form of a bologenese sauce over pasta. You can add onions, beans and grated cheddar cheese. Just get the mental picture of chili out of your head!

Sorry guys… Thought I’d try it once again, to see if things had improved… Gotta say, not really… So watery and runny and almost meatless… Gotta stick with Dixie…

Stopped in here for something small late one afternoon since I would be working late. Thought a mini-​coney might be about the right size. It was and tasted good, just way too much cheese on top! Try the coney, full-​sized or mini, but I’ll ask for less cheese!
Food is inexpensive and I think most (at least this one does) have a drive-​through window.
