Dollar Quarters

Only in Foster City… everywhere else, it would be a ‘dollar’ or ’99 cents’ store but i guess rent is too high or there’s a need to say folks in Foster City can spend more so we have this Dollar Quarters store. Just odd but I guess it helps to get an additional 25 or 26 cents on every item… oh well.
i was happy when this place opened and really didn’t care it was $ 1.25. It’s a great place to just browse and kill time, especially if you are waiting for a table at Chevy or need to take a walk after a big meal at one of the restaurants in the mall.
What do you buy at a place like this? Just about anything, definitely a place to go for cards, gift wraps, gift bags, balloons and alike. They do have a lot of books and audio books among other things that are well worth $ 1.25 and more.

I’m actually somewhat embarrassed to be the first to review this place. Now everyone will know where I get their Christmas gifts and kitchen supplies … and here they were all thinking I was sharing the love with my Williams Sonoma discount.
I bought a turkey baster today … need it to clean out my beta fish, Martini’s tank. Service was alright … I am usually used to someone responding to my «hi, how are you» with some acknowlegment of my existence. After I walked out the door, they gave me a coupon. What’s up with that? I didn’t really see enough in the store to warrant another trip, but it’s still convenient to know it’s there …
