My husband and I visited this vineyard about a month ago. The wine is superb!!! You can tell that the owners take the time to do their research and produce high quality wine. This vineyard is the perfect example that you do not have to pay exorbitant prices for a bottle of wine. We drive 40 minutes to stock up at the few liquor stores that have this wine available. We enjoyed our tasting so very much. The staff are so friendly I didn’t want the tasting to end. Our first visit and we bought 2 cases of wine…

We had a pleasant visit and tasting here at the Vineyard. Our tasting hostess was very informative about the wines. We really enjoyed the Cabernet as well as the Chardonnay and Decadence for dessert! A pleasant afternoon visit! Worth the trip!

I arrived at Nickle Creek on a spur of the moment decision and couldn’t have been happier! Mary Ann took up through our tasting(six samples plus a glass for $ 8) and added in stories of the vineyard and the wine with ease. We all left with a bottle or two, and it was a hard choice because they are all so good. I would highly recommend stopping by this winery!

My wife and I were lucky to find Nickle Creek a few years ago, right when they opened. We were on a Sunday drive in the country and saw a small tasting sign pointing down a dirt road. We have been to a handful of wineries throughout New England and Nickle Creek is one of the few that really delivers! With wine of excellent quality, character, variety and value, they have something for every palate! Fruit wines can be overdone or just plain sour, but their’s are excellent, and I’m not huge on fruit wine, but I do like how it changes with the seasons. Foster Red and White are very good; with pleasant aromas, full of flavor, and without the harsh burn in many consumer wines nowadays. Their wine is also clearly low in sulfites as I haven’t had a headache after even a few glasses, and I tend to get headaches with some commercial wine. The Pinot Noir is excellent, fruit forward and very peppery. I can’t wait to see what new wines they come out with over the coming years! I can see they are doing well with the improvements made since they opened; expanding the tasting room, adding facilities, planting more grapes and construction of a beautiful patio and arbor. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a glass of wine in the peaceful setting among the vines. If you want a behind the scenes look, they are happy to show you the equipment and explain it in greater detail. Another unique offering is their«Adopt a Vine» program, where you can take part in the harvest and other exclusive events they might have. I have sent and taken many family and friends over the years and each of them comes back raving about Nickle Creek! You would be missing out if you passed this vineyard by.

Pleasantly surprised by this small, family-run winery. All of the wines I sampled were very good; the Foster White was excellent. It was busy when I went there, but the staff were attentive and pleasant. Disregard the negative comments-this place is worth a visit!

It was very busy when we arrived, so the experience was not as peaceful or as leisurely as I would have hoped. We each did a 6 wine tasting and I felt the experienced was a bit rushed and impersonal. I would have appreciated a chance to talk to the women manning the tasting about the wine and get some guidance as to which wines to try. I understand that were busy but I wanted a chance to sip, savor and learn a little bit about their winery. It was a okay experience, but not as relaxing or as leisurely as I would have liked.

You may be thinking this is a little harsh to go from 5 stars to just 1… But sadly it has happened. Nickle Creek it appears, let the fame go to their heads. I was in the area last month and stopped by to pick up a few bottles of wine. They were busier than they had been, and even expanded their bar and appeared to be doing construction on their property! Business must be good. Something was wrong with their wifi while we were trying to purchase our wine, and they were exceptionally rude. We were paying customers and seemed so quick to ignore us. We had exact change! To top it off, when we got home one of the bottles of white we bought tasted sour, like it had gone bad… I’ve never had that happen before. Nickle Creek I was really disappointed. I promoted you based on your customer service, and my last experience your staff showed me none of that magic from my first experience. What happened?

I confess to be a bit of a wine snob, so I will be honest that I was apprehensive about the idea of «Rhode Island» wines. I should have known better than to pre-judge, because we really enjoyed the experience and were impressed by the wines. I tend to shy away from cloyingly sweet wines, so I was happy that they had quite a few wines right up my alley. My husband, mother, and I all had a wonderful time! It was hopping in there on Saturday afternoon with multiple tastings going on, but we managed to squeeze into the bar after about 5 minutes. There were complimentary pieces of cheese, dark chocolate kisses as well as crackers that were perfect to pop in your mouth in between wines. They had 11 or 12 wines to taste. We each tried different wines and shared so that we could taste everything. The grounds are pastoral and lovely. We saw one couple buy a bottle and go sit outside with a picnic to enjoy the crisp fall weather-good thinking! My two personal favorites were the Foster Red and the Pinot Grigio. My husband enjoyed all the wines, but he especially liked the fruit wines. My mother enjoyed the Pinot Noir and The Cabernet. There is quite a selection, although some of the fruit wines are seasonal and are in limited quantities. It is a small, family owned business, so they did run out of a few things. We wanted to try the blueberry, but one customer came and bought them all(looks like a lot of people were stocking up for Thanksgiving). I braced myself for the fruit wines, but they were subtle, not overly sweet. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I loved the Strawberry! We walked away with what we believe were the remainder of their Strawberry Bottles(sorry guys!) They showed us a fun trick: you swirl, smell and taste the strawberry-then you pop a dark chocolate kiss into your mouth– try the strawberry wine again… two completely different flavors. You have to try it!
