Martinizing Dry Cleaners

Last Spring, I took a favorite Fall/​Winter pantsuit to this establishment for cleaning. Because the weather was heating up, I forgot about picking it up. I realized recently that it must be at the cleaners and called to inquire. The owner informed me that because I didn’t pick it up in 90 days, it was donated to Goodwill. No courtesy call or notice — just got rid of it. I realize I was remiss in remembering to get it in a timely manner, but with a busy schedule and not needing it for wear during the summer, it slipped my mind. The response of the owner to my dismay was simply that it was my fault, and not his problem. Once before when I forgot about an item I’d left there, the previous owner gave me a quick reminder call, which I appreciated immensely. I’ve had my cleaning done at this location for 8 years — not any more!
