Citibank

First of all, let me start off with the fact that I’m thankful for belonging to a Credit Union for my primary banking needs. As a result, I do find myself subconsciously comparing my experiences at a «major bank» or «other credit union» to my beloved credit union whenever I’m out and about.
I’m glad I don’t have a checking account with Citibank and ONLY a credit card because if I did have a checking account with Citi and had to visit this branch more often, I would probably close my checking account with Citi.
The location is off of busy Brookhurst — blink and you’ll miss it — its right between the giant BofA branch and the MemorialCare center. Tiny signage. Parking is ample, but that could possibly be due to the lack of service — so maybe it is a plus since there isn’t much traffic inside the parking lot.
Anyway, I came here to make a cash payment on my Citibank credit card. While the teller that assisted me was friendly and polite, I was a bit annoyed at the fact that she needed to not only write down/​copy my Driver’s License — but also proceeded to ask about my occupation, etc. It wasn’t small talk — it was data she was entering into her system. The type of questioning made it very apparent she was filling out some sort of form and I’m sure if there wasn’t a line forming behind me, I would’ve been pressed to sign up for some of their banking products. I expressed I was happy with my credit union and there is a 100% chance that they cannot offer me any better product or service that I may have already gotten through my credit union.
The amount of questioning that was asked even after I provided my Driver’s License *JUST* to make a cash payment on my credit card was a bit unnecessary, considering that in addition to having the credit card with me, I was the sole account owner on the card and I had already provided my ID.
On the bright side, cash payments post to your Citi card account right away. But other than that, really no service highlight or experience that would make me want to recommend this location or bank to any friends or family.

I had a 9:30am appointment to sign a loan document but tellers were not letting me inside the building since bank opening time is 10am. After being ignored outside for about 20mins just watching me trying to communicate, one of the guys finally realized I had a appointment at 9:30 finally let me in. What a breakdown of communication! At least guy that helped me sign the document was nice and polite thus 2 stars.

I love this branch! The people there are always very nice and there isn’t a line. They also have a drive thru ATM which is great as well. Although it’s off of Brookhurst, it’s kind of hard to see until you pass the place. Overall, when I do have to go into a branch to do my business, I like to come here because of the people and how quickly things get done.

Wow the bankers here suck. I was waiting in line for almost an hour and they still didn’t acknowledge me. I guess they didn’t want me to open an account here and deposit 100k. I talked to two bankers that I was opening an account and they told me to wait. No polite courtesy or number to be called.
A Vietnamese lady who came later after me got seated with a Vietnamese banker only after a few mins. That really pissed me off because the banker didn’t even talk to me first since I got there earlier and secondly was it because I don’t speak Vietnamese she ignored me? She didn’t have the courtesy say that this lady had an appointment or something?
I came a little after 12 and the teller line was long but everybody there was serviced.
This citibank lost a potential customer bc of its poor customer service.

About time I write a review here. so a few months ago my account got fraud. so I had to go in and they took care of it for me. Opened me an account and took care of everything for me. The service was great. They have someone there a few step away from the front door to greet you. on slow days and on busy. and asked what I am in for and pointed me to the right direction. hey my account been mess with I wasn’t a happy camper. After my account got taken care of they apologize for what happened. I thought they going to give me a hard time because bank of America did and I bank with bofa longer. over all I would recommend Citibank

I like how they have lots of tellers on a friday afternoon! It is the worst when the banks don’t think that they are going to be busy at that time and do not staff properly. In and out and that is what I like!

I don’t review banks in general, but this one has a drive-​thru ATM. Yay!
