WORST SCHOOL EVER!!! Beware, unless you like money being taken from you & transcripts not being released to you. NEVER have I ever heard of a school not giving you your transcripts for over 2 weeks. Not to mention this school takes 30,000 from you & they don’t offer tutoring? How the hell can you possibly ask for so much money over the course of a year & a half & not help your students when they need help? Oh that’s right, because the teachers aren’t allowed to get over time so the students here get screwed. Stay clear away from this school. All they do is scam you. I need my transcripts to enroll in nursing school & they will not give them to me. FUCK THIS SCHOOL!

I ran into a few problems with the school while attending, but nothing to serious. It is a trade school and not a college, so don’t expect everything they tell u your gonna get. After all said and done I look back and had a good experience, I’m working full time as an Ma/​x-​ray tech 3 weeks after getting all my certs. Your not gonna make as much money as they promise you in the field. HONESTLY IF YOU CAN, GO TO A REAL COLLEGE AND GET THE FULL TECH LICENSE, DON’T GO HALF WAY, and this is exactly what it is half way. The job placement lady is Amazing (Jessica) and also the x ray teacher Alaina. Stay on top of all your clinicals and hours, cause (Adam) and (Sue) are not looking out for you.

I attended Modern Technology School from December 2013 until October 2014. I would not recommend this school to anyone. The school Director Sue is the most unprofessional person I have come across. All she cares about is the money you pay the school. In a meeting I had with her she said «some people just aren’t as smart as others» someone in her position should not make such comments in any way at any time.
My class was scheduled to take the NCCT Medical Assistant competency exam on Thursday March 20, 2014 at 9:00am after studying for weeks the morning of the exam only about 30 minutes prior the start time we were told we could not take the test since the proctor’s child was ill. Our test was rescheduled to Monday March 24, 2014 (the same day we started the X-​Ray program). Weeks after we took the test we all got our results and everyone in the class had passed with 90% or better, we continued our education in the X-​Ray program.
In May everyone in our class got letters from NCCT stating that our tests had been invalidated and the listed several reasons of which they did not exactly specify why. The Medical Assisting Clinical Coordinator Yvonne Parker said she would take care of the issue for us. We were told that because one of the students in our class finished the test in less than an hour they invalidated our exams because the class «cheated».
Weeks went by and every time we asked what was going on we were given the run around. The time came for us to start our clinic hours in July and we would only be attending class on Fridays which made it impossible to get answers on the situation with our NCCT test since Yvonne wasn’t always there and the other staff would reply with «I don’t know it’s the Medical Assisting Clinical Coordinators job» or the best response by the campus director «you don’t need to be certified». If I don’t need to be certified then why this fee was added to my tuition and why is it apart of the school’s curriculum?
In October after not getting any answers from the school I called NCCT and was told we would have to retake the Medical Assistant competency exam that it was informed to the school back in May and that it should have been addressed with us but again the staff at Modern Technology School dropped the ball.
By the time we finished our clinic hours and finals came in late October 2014 we still had not heard anything on our new test date we were again told they would inform us once they knew something. In mid-​February of this year after one of my classmates attended tutoring for the AART (X-​Ray State exam) and asking again what was going on she was told by Yvonne Parker that we had to retake the test and we only had until March 24^th of this year to do it. So we all needed to call in and schedule the exam (you would think the school would have informed us)
Our new test date was for Friday March 20, 2015 at 9am. I took the morning off work to take the exam on my way in I text my classmate and she told me the test was changed to 12pm. No one from the school has the courtesy to call and let me know. I called the school and of course NO ONE KNEW ANYTHING by this time its 8:30am so again I call NCCT I spoke to Crystal there who in fact told me the test was changed by the school on February 19^th and they told NCCT that they would personally call the students and inform of new time and again the school failed.
Horrible school! The staff isn’t helpful at all. It’s now 2:30pm and I still haven’t gotten a call back from them to confirm time of test.
Not to mention the facility is dirty and half the supplies needed aren’t available.
Terri Torrance the Medical Assistant teacher and Alina Kane the X-​Ray teacher are the only good staff in the school.

So the staff an teachers really help you here. Ms. parker I think everyone would agree is a great councilor to a lot of people I’m not even sure if that’s her job but she gives a lot of good guidance. They really help you through the ma course. I took X-​ray and I’ve had both Tommy and Alina. I personally like Alina’s teaching but either way I suggest u do tutoring. It’s a great help and do all your book work and don’t just skim through stuff try not to get distracted it’s only 11 months out of you entire life it’s worth giving your all. It takes about a month after you graduate to get your Letter to take your state and then you take it at the soonest 2 weeks out and it then take a couple weeks to get your results and then if you have any retakes u schedule and then get you results and so on. This process after you graduate can be about a month or two to really how ever long You want to lag or I you ver want to get done. The school really helps you get a job Jessica is great and so is Adam. Everyone is very willing to work with you with any obstacle you may face. I recommend this school definitely.

The best school ever best teachers I had my diploma this month after11 month of hard work now I’m a medical assistant & x ray tech after being nothing in this world the school returned me back to life I’m proud that I graduated from this school thanks for the dean, teachers & all the stuff

Horrible. The teachers were great but the school itself sucked. The directors don’t back you up on anything. All they care about is their money. I recommended you don’t waist your time and money on this school. They do nothing but «get you by» and don’t teach you anything.

I started my Ultrasound program in 2012. Couldn’t be more happy with my choice in picking this great vocational school! You’ll have a full understanding of the material, and feel confident after graduating. Classes are small giving you more one on one time with your instructors (only 4 girls in my class). Classes are small due to the number of ultrasound machines in the lab, and clinical rotations. Anther plus is they find your clinical site for you! (I was placed at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital) They ARE NOT CAAHEP certified ONLY ACCSC, which mean you can only sit for your SPI ARDMS exam, and aren’t allowed to take your Specialty ARDMS. Unless you work a full time job for a year, then you’ll follow under a different clause that will allow you to take your ARDMS speciality. My class just graduated our 2 year program on Feb. 2014, and 3 out of 4 of my colleagues have jobs without out our registry. (We will need to sit for our exams to further our careers, but for the time being the majority of us all got jobs within 6 months!) If you want a job YOU MUST be proactive! Jobs just won’t come to you so be prepared to work hard for that first job!
The cost of the school is a little spendy, but worth it to bypass other long wait list schools! There’s financial aid, and they can also setup school loans if needed! This school is well known in the ultrasound community, and I would recommend this school to anyone! I had such an amazing experience here, and learned so much! Google me really? That is stalker status. All I know is it did not take me six months to pass my test, but I guess you get what you put into it. I found them to be very helpful especially the review classes they offer once I graduated. Obviously we had a different experince and we’ll just leave it at that. Sorry you’re so bitter.
(1) Ty T. I think you might have commented on the wrong school. Modern Technology’s MA/​X-​Ray program is only 11 months and I paid less than $ 17,000. So if you defaulted on your school loan that’s a whole different story. I am working as a limited tech and once I obtained my license I was able to find a job with their assistance. They helped me with my resume and gave me interview pointers. I am still working as an XT now and love my job!
