This place is Amazing! The staff is always so friendly and quick to assist you. After the extensive injury I sustained and multiple surgeries from multiple surgeons, I was under the impression that I would pretty much suffer with pain for a long time. My first meeting with Dr. Nguyen I knew I was in good hands and I felt most comfortable with him then any other Dr. He really made me feel comfortable and he took good care of me, and now I’m back on both feet walking like I haven’t in several years. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!

This MD was unprofessional. I shall make a formal complaint with his professional board. The experience is too personal to share in this section.
But a few words of advice go elsewhere.

I love this place. I was having some issues with my knee swelling up. Not sure what it was so I went to the good ol folks at CFBJC. Of course I had my xray done and they were able to show that I had fluid build up from a Joint injury. The Doc drained the fluid and immediately I felt relieved. As always, he was able to explain the issue and also advise about preventative measures.
Mainly, it feels gratifying to learn that there are still some in the medical field that I can trust completely.

Dr. Nguyen is going to be the best doctor you will find, he knows his stuff, he fixed my schoulder after years of pain, THANK YOU! Dr. nguyen

Dr is great and knowledgable but you only see him for 10 mins.
Scheduling can be hectic and rude.
You will wait for an hour even if you arrive early due to they cram many many appts at the same time. Waiting room is small and can get uncomfortable.
Parking at this hospital area is impossible but thats not this dr fault.

I am a Physical Therapist in Irvine at Apex Physical Therapy who sees Dr. Nguyen’s patients on a regular basis. Diagnoses include ankle fractures, ACL repairs, Tibial plateau fractures, Shoulder reconstructions, Total hip arthroscopies, Total knee arthroscopies, as well as non-​surgical cases. All of the patients that i have seen are happy with the results of the surgery and they often mention the pleasant demeanor of Dr. Nguyen. His surgical techniques are up to date and his skills are excellent as i can see that his patients progress and recover fully.
He is a young, skilled, and caring doctor who i can confidently refer many of my friends and patients to.

Unfortunately I have more history with Dr. Nguyen then I would like, but it’s all good.
After doing a number on my right knee I was referred by my insurance to a guy that scheduled me for the wrong surgery after loosing my MRI. Needless to say I did my research and found Dr. Nguyen. His office was a breath of fresh air, clean, with friendly and knowledgeable staff they made me feel at ease.
I had surgery for my right knee. Suffered a setback after a fall in recovery and had a second surgery on right knee. Unfortunately a year later I thrashed my left knee, but was quicker about navigating the insurance circus and got into surgery less then 3 weeks later. I am now feeling strong and so grateful to him. He has always put me at ease, he keeps up with you for a full year post surgery, he is simply the best!
And while I am absolutely pleased with the work he has done over three surgeries I hope to never have to see him again after this last one… LoL… Nothing personal! But if I ever do need it again I know he is the one I’d go to again!

Nice guy. He took his time with me and fully explained all the options regarding my worn out knee. In the future I might get a knee replacement but for now we decided that a few months of therapy followed up by 10 min of daily stretching done on my own at home, will solve a lot of my problems and hopefully keep me in my real knee for another five to ten years.

This office and Dr. are great. Dr. Nguyen fixed my labrum (shoulder) in Feb 2013. It is now July, and I have been riding my dirtbike and working out again. Make no mistake about it, this is a tough surgery to recover from, but it has gone as smoothe as possible with the help of this office staff and Dr. As another reviewer mentioned, the waiting room can get a bit crowded due to the size, but if there was never people in there I would have been more worried! At least I knew that he was popular and busy! With that being said, I never waited more than 10 miutes to be seen. Overall, I will be back (due to the nature of my lifestyle) and you should feel very comfortable with Dr. Trong Nguyen… I sure do.

Dr. Nguyen is an exceptional doctor who cares for the well being of all his patients, even the little ones. He takes the extra time and energy to assess the situation and provide the proper care. Yes, sometimes there is a little wait, but that comes with good quality care and every patient is treated like a human being, not just a number. I recently had my two year old daughter remove her cast and the staff was great, talked her through everything and made her feel safe and secure. Granted she is two years old, so I needed to assist the doctor and his staff in keeping her absolutely still while they removed the cast, but it was easy. I believe they made a conscientious effort to make the procedure as painless and with the utmost care.
I would totally recommend him for anyone who needs orthopedic care.

I came for an evaluation after a car accident and was taken care of every step of the way. The office was nice and comfortable. Dr. Nguyen was knowledgeable and thorough. Great Doctor to visit.

If you have a problem with knees, shoulders, and feet, go and see Dr. Trong. He is a great Doctor. Don’t pay attention to the negative review. I am thankful that my arms are working, due to his care, I am in great hands, I can’t recommend him enough to you, I don’t mind waiting a little bit, because he gives you quality time, when is your turn. I am glad he doesn’t treat us like pancakes. One minute and flip you over. He takes his time and he knows what he needs to do. I know I am feeling much better because of his care.

I’m writing an update to my review based on my most recent experince here which was much different than prior experiences.
The already cramped waiting room was so full, partcularly full of people with injured body parts that it was a serious fire hazard! I know that an emergency or a difficult patient can cause a backup, but when it’s nearly 2 hour wait with no explanation for 3 minutes with the doctor, there’s something more than broken bones that needs fixing!
