Richard’s Cookie Jar has been in these parts for many years and the proof is on their walls. With their walls decorated with fun comic clippings and newspaper clippings from being recognized in the community. No fancy cronuts or over the top, glorified donuts here. Just a mom and pop shop serving up the freshest donuts, cookies, croissants, and coffee. You walk into this small shop and you will always see«the usual’s». The lady behind the counter is every bit as sweet as the donuts she serves. The average donut is about .90. Always fresh, and all traditional. The most updated donut is the blueberry one and that’s better than M&M’s minus the long wait. The croissants are filled! I mean the cheese to bread ratio is perfect! Usually filled with ham and cheese or just cheese and served warmed up is a perfect addition to a side salad and very filling! if you ever are in the neighborhood and tired of all the hyped spots, Richard’s Cookie Jar is for you.

I was craving a homemade chocolate cookie, simple enough. I came here and ordered 3 small ones for only $ 1. These were real homemade, toll house cookies, no bs or funny stuff involved. Exactly what I wanted and I will come back here again for more.

The cookie photos on Unilocal led me to this place. I drove there at 10a and they didn’t have any cookies ready, so she told me return in the afternoon. When I returned they had chocolate chip, oatmeal, and sugar cookies(only for the holidays). They were under a dollar each so I bought a dozen. My favorite was their oatmeal cookies. It is easy to call them to place an order.

Not sure what planet Jessica and Casey are living on. The apple fritters are to die for and the donuts are always fresh and excellent. I have been to every donut shop within miles of here and none can beat Sing ’ s.

I was craving a ham and cheese croissant this morning on my way to work. I didn’t know any places nearby so I took my handy dandy Unilocal app out and started Unilocaling! This placed showed up, and I was very close to it! So I decided to check this place out. This place looks like any other donut shop, however the ambience needs to be better. The lighting in the shop was very dim, and difficult to read the menu they had. The service was very quick and prompt, maybe because it was really early. Any who, I ordered my ham. and cheese croissant, and they were nice enough to warm it up. After purchasing my ham and cheese croissant, I took a bite into it and OMG! it was just filled with croissant dough… but I thought to myself ok, that’s just the beginning. So I took another bite thinking the second bite should be better… no it wasn’t any better; there was still no sign of ham or cheese. So I took a third bite and a fourth until I ripped it in half to only find that there was one to two slices of ham and very little cheese… It was such a disappointing experience after reading the reviews, and having to crave one as well. I wished I went to Seaside Donuts out in Balboa Beach, Newport Beach area. They have the best ham and cheese croissants I ever had. They stuff their croissants with rich velvety cheese mixed in with slices of ham!

Every time I come into this shop, it’s always a good time. The owner is friendly, great customer service, and the cookies are absolutely delicious. The cake donuts are pretty good but I’ll be honest I mostly come here for the cookies, which I buy out, so you better beat me to this place on the weekends. Will try the Ham n Cheese at some point but the cookies are too good to pass up.

There isn’t much you need to know except that this place has THEBEST Ham and Cheese croissants and THEBEST cinnamon rolls! Go early if you want a ham and cheese croissant, but otherwise the best place ever! You do need to have cash but it’s worth it!

Average donuts nothing special and not the best quality. But the people there are very friendly and give great customer service. Every once and a while they throw in a few free donut holes. Small pace. Kind of hard to see from the street, but it’s right on the edge of the plaza. A lot of regulars fill this store.

I guess they only cater to the P.D. since they don’t sell Cookies! They should change the name to Richards Donut Jar! lol

I first went here because I heard it was a good donut shop. I was mistakenend when I found what looked like cock roach body parts in my donuts. I would never come here again.

Not that great of quality… very average, although they’re nice and have decent croissants if warmed up. The Donuttery on beach is far better. :)

I have been here in the past for donuts and they were pretty good. I was looking forward to bringing donuts into the office this morning for Friday breakfast… but they dont take credit cards at all. That always shocks me that as far as we are, there are places that still dont take credit cards… Very sad. :(

I’ve been going here since i was a kiddo, which was about 18 years ago. Their donuts are freshly bake every morning. it seems like the place hasn’t changed a bit, the only thing that has changed is time. Nice service. They know you by name too, once they’re familiar with your face.

High hopes quickly faded after biting into the fritter. The spot had all the making of a great donut shop. The smells of warm freshly fried donuts, the waft of icing from the baked cinnamon rolls, the local crowd huddled around morning joe but I can’t say the donuts were great. The fritter looked good but was to doughy. It had apple chunks which I like but lacked the sweetness expected I. Spite of being properly glazed. I also opted for a baked cinnamon roll because they smelled so damn good. Both Claire and I were disappointed because it tasted like they were out of the pillsbury can. Not that I don’t like the freshly popped can of cinnamon rolls it’s just that I expected more. And the hunt moves on. If I lived close by I’d stop in again but it’s not worth a drive.

It’s nice to have a neighborhood donut shop where they start each day frying up fresh donuts. Nothing is better than a warm surgary treat with a cup of excellent coffee. That’s what you’ll find at Richard’s Cookie Jar. Don’t understand the name but the donuts are excellent and you can’t beat the service. They go out of their way to make you feel like you are the most important customer they have, and they suceed! I love this place.

The donuts are excellent, but the service and camadarie at this place is the best. Sparky and Sing(the owners) go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Great place to meet with friends and enjoy coffee and donuts.
