Very cool big trendy eatery with lots of beers. This was my first time here and My heart was set on trying the Beef dip sandwich since I seen other Unilocal reviews. When I ordered the girl said sorry we are out items to make it. WTF! I ended up ordering the Cuban and pastrami sandwiches. As much as I want to love this place, my food tasted very bland and I ordered the chips with the Cuban and it tasted a bit overcooked with a burnt taste. The pastrami was bland also but the pasta salad was pretty good. The service was excellent! I may give this place another try in the near future since it has all the makings of a great place, just disappointed with the food.

Couldn’t think of a better way for a «PICKMEUP» than to have myself some cake. With Slice Deli and Cakery(SD&C) being the buzz word at work and on The Weekly Unilocal: Cakes; it was an easy decision on where to get my sugar high. Each huge/honking slice was $ 6. I’m not a big fan of rosemary or coconut. But, with all the hype, I had to try the LEMONROSEMARY and BLUEBERRYCOCONUT. Cakes were dense and the key ingredients were very subtle. There were only hints and the aroma of lemon, rosemary, blueberry and coconut flavors. I was hoping for bolder lemon & blueberry flavors, but at the same time I’m glad the rosemary & coconut didn’t outshine the fruit flavors. However, the BAVARIANSWISSBUTTERCREAM(BSBC) was what sealed the deal for me! I absolutely LOVED the creamy(yet firm & buttery) consistency and mild sweetness. This is one of the rare times where I can sit and eat just the cake«frosting.» So good. Cake 3⁄5 and BSBC(5⁄5). Now, onto the BOMBMI($ 10): An upscale twist on my Vietnamese sandwich. Same concept, but with better quality meats & roasted garlic aioli(my fave). The boneless roasted pork(aka: porchetta) was made well. Moist, fatty and had just the right seasoning. Complemented with ginger soy caramel, pickled carrots & daikon, jalapeño and cilantro. However, the bread was simple and not french baguette. **served with choice of house chips, potato or pasta salad. We were too busy eating the cake 1st to realize we didn’t get any sides :(Big bummer. **delicious sandwich, but pricey. TIDBITS: –Friendly staff(on the phone and in person) –From the outside, the restaurant looks small. But, it’s actually quite spacious with high ceilings inside. The ambiance is casual & comfortable with bar seating to the left and free for all seating to the right. Order 1st, then sit down! And yes, it’s KID friendly too. Nice touch on hitting all the marks. –Try to catch their Happy Hour deals(sorry, I forgot to jot it down). Will definitely be back to try more cakes and other items on the menu. French Dip, I’ve got my eyes on you :)

This review is based on wandering in one afternoon just to check the place out and deciding to sit and have a piece of their rosemary lemon cake. 4.5 stars, rounded up. A huge slice, fairly subtle flavors delicately combined into a dense yet still moist cake. The frosting wasn’t overpoweringly sweet, making for a fantastic dessert that I would definitely come back for, or order a whole one to go for a party in the future. I will definitely be back to try their food soon, perhaps dine at their little wine bar counter for happy hour with my mom.

The food was amazing here! I started out with a house salad with Sikkema and pomegranate seeds and a wonderful balsamic vinegar it. My husband ordered the chicken main dish and I orderedThe London broil. To accompany our main dishes he ordered the fingerling potatoes which came in a horse radish sauce with bacon crumbles, and I ordered the brussels sprouts that also had bacon crumbles, walnuts, and they were drizzled with what tasted like a little bit of honey. The brussels sprouts were fried very light and crispy. Our girls ordered the macaroni and cheese and it was spectacular. I couldn’t be happier with our meal!

Second time here! The first time my boyfriend and I came here but they were closing so we just decided to order a slice of their homemade cake to go. Last night we came back w a couple friends to try their beer and food. I ordered the bomb mi sandwich which was really good! My boyfriend ordered the Cuban sandwich w egg which was really good as well. We decided to switch half of our sandwiches to try each one but I preferred my bomb mi more :’) Try their beers! They have a really big selection. I forgot what my beer was called but it was along the lines of «look what the wakas cooking» lol really good beer though, must try. We also met the owners of slice. They’re so nice. They were really attentive and walked around consistently asking if everything was okay. We will definitely come back, maybe next time without baby so my bf can try the variety of beers :)

A little slice of heaven turns into the whole piece of heaven. Upon walking into this place I was greeted with smiling faces and a glow of the cakes from the display case, I was getting ahead of myself with the sweet sexy goodness that was lurking in the display. I sat down and took a glance at their beer selection with a good array of beers. I took a look around the place and noticed the décor, very clean with a huge neon light of a cow, this place was bare before they opened, the plaza was lonely and needed something extra with some flavor. I ordered the tomahawk because everyone was raving about it. When my food arrived it was like the first time I saw my prom date walking down the steps, ready for a night on the town and my mouth was the party(no pause). I took my first bite and immediately my tastebuds were dancing and twisting the night away. It was cooked perfectly. I wanted more and ordered the house chips, perfect way to end the night. But wait… the cakes! There wasn’t much but I heard the cakes were phenomenal as well, what really caught my attention was the«everything cake.» I asked for one to go and looked at it, «you’re coming with me,» I said. My experience was more than awesome. It felt like a new age deli, keeping the aesthetic of that old feel but bringing in the new. And who kudos to whoever put together the playlist for the place, from Ray Charles to Mayer Hawthorne. I will definitely be coming back for more.

Great for a meal but let’s talk cake. The blueberry coconut take I tried rocked my world. I can’t wait to try some more items. Customer service seemed off, but I try not to make rash judgements on first impressions. You never know what kind of life or day another person is having. So seriously, get that cake in your belly

Just when I think I have discovered some amazing sandwich places in the HB/GG/FV area, Slice Deli drops the people’s elbow on all of them! Slice Deli is located near Magnolia and Warner, near Boomers, use your Unilocal app to locate it. Walking in, I could tell this restaurant also is a place to meet someone for a glass of vino, or a micro-beer. We ordered several sandwiches, the Cuban sandwich and the Pastrami Mami– Cuban: 5 stars– Without a doubt one of the best Cuban sandwiches that I have ever tasted. What makes it great to me is how well this sandwich is balanced, the quality of the meat, and the different sauces they used. The pulled pork and ham were so good, you couldn’t really tell them apart(balance), and I really liked the garlic aioli sauce! Pastrami Mami: 5 stars — If you look at the pic I took you can see this isn’t your average diner’s fatty pastrami, they use quality pastrami! It was a little different b/c they use horseradish instead of mustard, but its still an amazing sandwich. Note it normally comes with rye bread, i don’t like rye, so I got it with on an Italian hoagie. Also, the sandwiches comes with a side dish as well, so for $ 10 – 12 you get a large sandwich with a side. BOOM! I am really looking forward to going back to try out their French Dip that everyone is raving about. Props to Joe P and Aaron E for leading the way to this deliciousness! #19/2016

Technically, I give this place 3.5 stars but will round up because the service we received was awesome. First of all, I love the décor and ambiance of the restaurant. It felt modern with fun signs and art all over, and the reclaimed wood tables were nice… overall, a good vibe. The people who work there are super friendly and accommodating which was surprising because they looked like a bunch of high school kids. When I see places with really young looking staff, they usually come off as rude or disinterested so this was a nice plus. Ok, so let’s talk food: Pretzels — 2⁄5 they were way too salty for me. My BF said it was a bit heavy on the salt but the dough was actually really good… Personally, I couldn’t even focus on the dough due to the saltiness. Mac n cheese — 5⁄5 so much cheesy goodness in every bite! Pastrami mami — 3⁄5 definitely too dry. It needs a dip or something. Croque Madame — 5⁄5 this sandwich was super bomb! It’s very heavy though so if you are going to get this, I recommend you don’t get any apps so you can finish it. I tried eating it the next day and it was not nearly as good. Blueberry coconut cake — 3⁄5 so the cake itself was really tasty. Moist and flavorful. However, the buttercream filling was way too thick and gross. I had to only eat the cake part and just completely avoided the frosting layers. The menu items were a hit and miss, but I will definitely be back to try other items at a later date. I know they’re a new restaurant, so I’ll give them a little more time to work out their kinks.

Slice is a new, hip and upcoming spot in Fountain Valley located on Warner between Magnolia and Newland. Went there for the first time last Thursday and also met the owners. They are great and really have a great vision for this place. The restaurant is beautiful. I love the new and modern décor. There is no restaurant like this in Fountain Valley. There is no waiter service. You pick your meal and pay. It’s great! I ordered the lamb, roasted root vegetables and paired it with a pinot noir. It was amazing! This is upscale at an affordable price! I will definitely be back.

We happened to drive by and decided to check it out and have lunch here. I ordered The Cuban sandwich which was delicious, my fiancé had The French Dip and my son had the kids Grilled Cheese. We had the Pub Pretzels as an appetizer which they serve with a side of caramel and a horseradish mustard. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every bite! Lastly we ordered a slice of Lemon Rosemary cake that we shared. The cake was very moist, not overly sweet and just plain yummy! The staff is very friendly! It’s a nice place to hang out and enjoy a few beers with friends. This place is definitely a place you must give a try!

My family and I came for lunch on the weekend which was a perfect time because it wasn’t too crowded. They have a large TV at the bar so that you are able to enjoy their extensive tap list while watching sports. The lunch menu is sandwich-heavy with a few salads and each sandwich includes a side of either pasta salad, German potato salad or house made hot garlic chips. What are hot garlic chips you ask? Well they are thinly sliced potato rounds fried up and seasoned with a bit of spice and garlic. Definitely not too spicy even if you don’t handle spice well, and you could taste that they were fresh. They’re the best side in my opinion. We waited a bit at the front before the cashier took our order. It seemed like she had a few other jobs to take care of which is fine but I think if people are waiting, that should be her first priority. Another issue is that the food took a really long time to be served. I would say at least 20 if not 25 minutes. It just felt like a long time to wait for a sandwich. Once the food arrived, I thoroughly enjoyed my French Dip comprised of roasted prime rib, provolone, horseradish crème fraîche, caramelized onions and au jus. Another favorite at the table was the Pastrami-Mami. Mac n Cheese was on the dinner menu so I wasn’t aware that I could order it for lunch, but while I was eating I saw someone receive it. I’m interested in coming back to try out that Mac n Cheese and other items from the dinner menu. My dad paid the bill and he’s very picky about price but even he mentioned that the food quality was well worth what we paid. Don’t forget to end the meal with a slice of cake from the display case!

Best service to ever experience. I was frantic and unable to find a cake in time for my good friends bday party. I drove by and saw the cakery sign, ran in and chatted up with Chad at the front telling him my situation. He then had Natalie come out and help me. She whipped up a cake that wasn’t ready in 15 mins and it was stunning and BEYONDDELICIOUS! It’s one thing to find a cake, it’s amazing when your cake was a smash hit and everyone acknowledging it. She even threw in the cutest lit sparkler for me! It was the best moment.

Always looking for new places, a friend found Slice. There is something for everyone– craft beers for the guys, great food and cake! We started with some apps. The pretzel bites with warm caramel sauce is a must! We also had the charcuterie plate. Some items were not available since they make everything fresh and well, when it’s gone it’s gone. I can appreciate that. We ate at the bar and were poured a complementary glass of champagne– what a nice touch! We even took cake home. We will be back!

The common Deli experience is amplified in the new Huntington Beach restaurant Slice Deli and Cakery. Needing a spot for lunch in HB I turned to one of it’s local sons Joe P. who put me on with a recommendation. Situated as an end cap of a suburban strip mall on Warner, you would almost have to be a local to know of it’s existence but I bet that will change quickly thanks to the inventive and tasty offerings available. Slice purveys locally sourced produce, proteins and craft brews on their menu and even goes as far as to cure all of their meat in house. These ingredients combined with the gourmet techniques employed makes Slice more like a avant-garde Gastropub than a mere deli. Their executive chef is Julio de Leon who cut his teeth at HB’s own Solita. Oh — the eats are on the cheap considering the quality; Sandwiches start at a mere $ 9.00. Ordering was a somewhat clumsy fast casual experience but the staff is friendly enough and will offer suggestions upon request. After seeing the artisanal used on the French Dip I decided instantly on trying one without looking at the menu(and missing that they had a Pastrami offering) along with a Soda. The damage was roughly $ 15.00, which isn’t exactly cheap but at the same time I have no issues paying a bit more for superlative ingredients. The French Dip is a well pieced together little number featuring a French Bread with a perfect chew, Roast Beef with a plethora of cracked Black Pepper, melted white Cheese and the driving force behind each bite: perfectly Caramelized Onions. The sandwich comes with it’s traditional accompaniment, a ramekin full of savory and salty Au Jus and is flanked by a Potato Salad. All of the ingredients were laugh out loud fresh and delicious. My only gripe with my lunch was that the Potato Salad walked dangerously on the boring side. With a bit of retooling it could keep up with the French Dip. I definitely enjoyed my lunch and cannot wait to return for a try at their Pastrami. Props to the crew at Slice for being a great new addition to my HB lunch rotation and another shout goes out to Joe P. for the heads up.

Been dying to try Slice Deli out so I popped in for lunch with my girlfriend a few days ago. Great space, cool vibe. PROS: — Very generous portions at a very good price point. — You can tell the ingredients are top notch. Impressed by quality of the food. — Impressive presentation of food. Croque Madame w/egg has quite the visual wow factor for any foodie. — Atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant is awesome. Although I don’t quite think the name and vibe of the restaurant matches their menu offerings. CONS: — I REALLY wanted to like the food more than I actually did. — My girlfriend and I ordered the Pastrami-Mami and the Croque Madame with egg. I found the pastrami meat quality to be great, but I REALLY didn’t care for the greek yogurt coleslaw– I found it be too sour and found that it really overpowered everything… really throwing the balance of the sandwich off. We ended up taking most of it off and enjoyed it much better that way. The Croque Madame looks and tastes great but the four cheese and french mournay is incredibly rich. I could only eat half and just found it to be a little too much. — I really liked the potato salad but mine was really underseasoned… nothing some salt and pepper couldn’t fix. I didn’t like the pasta salad. At all. To my knowledge, Slice opened up recently and while I was a little underwhelmed by the food(trust me, I had high expectations cause of the Unilocal reviews) lets be honest… it takes a bit for a restaurant to work out the kinks and find its legs. Looking forward to coming back and trying out some of the other offerings.

For my 2nd Five Star Friday of the year, I wanted to share recently opened Slice Deli and Cakery. After attending a b’ness event w/my pal Kim H at previously reviewed OPM, I had no idea Slice was so close. It is on Warner in Fountain Valley, west of Magnolia, in the same strip mall as Snails Pace athletic shoe store. In addition to sandwiches, Slice offers entrees like short ribs, and warm sides like mac & cheese, and brussel sprouts. Lastly, they serve unique cakes like chocolate ganache cheesecake, pumpkin chai, smores, and blueberry coconut. We ordered pretzels($ 7 | w/stout beer grainy mustard & caramel sauce on the side); Pastrami Mami($ 11 | in-house made marble rye, greek yogurt coleslaw, havarti pickles & chocolate stout); Riviera french dip($ 11 | horseradish crème fraîche, caramelized onions, Imperial stout au jus). Both sandwiches come w/sides, and I ordered German potato salad, and she had housemade chips. Last of all, I don’t normally have dessert, but I saw the blueberry coconut cake, so I had to have a slice($ 5). First of all, the pretzels were winnahz! They came out piping hot, super soft, and perfectly salted. I prefer mustard, and the grainy mustard provided was excellent. I could see myself just coming to Slice for one of the many craft beers, a couple orders of pretzels, and watching a game. BTW, Kim tried the caramel w/a puzzled look on her face, but afterwards she was sold. She even asked to take some caramel sauce home: 5+++ Stars. Secondarily, we had a bite of each other’s sandwiches, and we both agreed they were very good. The marbled rye went perfectly w/my sandwich. My only suggestion is to put some of the grainy mustard on: 4 Stars. Likewise, Kim’s sandwich was packed w/meat. We both only finished half. In addition, the au jus was very tasty: 4 Stars. My side, the German potato salad was OK. It just needed more seasoning which is an easy fix: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the handmade chips were dank! They came out crispy & hot. My only recommendation is a garlic/chive option: 4 Stars. Lastly, the cake was very good. The cake was vanilla, and the combo of the blueberry and coconut was well thought out. I could only eat half, which rarely happens: 4 Stars. Slice has nice ambiance. As you enter, there is a small bar area to the left. Towards the rear, there are several tables, including communal tables. This would be a good place for a Unilocal event!: 4 Stars. We met two of the owners, John & Chad. They were both super attentive and nice people. Additionally, they offered to host a Unilocal event(Ryan C, are you listening?): 5 Stars. Slice has the best sandwiches in the HB/FV area! The sandwiches are way better compared to highly touted Deli-licious(TST and like OPM, Over Priced & Mediocre). Prices at Slice are reasonable, the food is very good, the ambiance is nice, and the service is fantastic. I can’t wait for the Unilocal event!!!

3.5. Round down because the service that we received at the bar was pretty poor. Bartender obviously didn’t want to be there. Had to reach over to get silverware, napkins, get his attention to refill a water glass that was empty for ten minutes, and find him to get the check. Oh and the sandwiches took 20+ minutes to come out. That being said… bomb mi was the winner vs the pastrami. Bread to filling ratio no the pastrami was way off. Thought that the rye was much too thick. Bomb mi bread was another story, it was real good. Loved the jalapeño that was added. Chips as a side were fine, wish they served their other sides at lunch. Will be back to try some more stuff.

We’ve eaten here several times now, and each time we find a new favorite. The Cuban sandwich, London Broil, Bomb Mi, Tomahawk Pork Chop, German potato salad, pasta salad, house made chips, grilled romaine salad… and I’ve barely made a dent in the menu! Save room for dessert because the cakes are fantastic. I thought the blueberry /coconut was my fave, but today I tried the lemon /rosemary :) You can also order an unforgettable custom cake for any occasion. The proprietors are incredible people who went through hell and high water so this place could exist. They respect the process of creating the best quality food, making, baking, curing and smoking every single item on the menu, including the condiments(hello, stout mustard). Last but certainly not least, check out the amazing local craft beer and wine selections. We love Slice.

My FAVORITE sandwich spot in OC. All the ingredients are fresh. So you’ll find no can openers here! I can’t decide which is my favorite sandwich though. The Tuna Thurman(on sourdough), The Cuban, The Pastrami-Mami and The Bomb-Mi are all my favs so far. And the house chips are addicting(You’ve been warned). Don’t get me started on the cakes they offer here. No artificial flavors are added. If you ever get the chance to try the coconut blueberry cake, GETIT! It’s worth the 25 min drive getting here. And the owners make you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Think of the old school tv show Cheers where you’re Norm and you’re here for the food. I can’t wait for them to serve brunch on Sunday’s! #RespectTheProcess

Absolutely amazing. I had dinner here with my boyfriend and everything we had was delicious. We shared the pretzels, charcuterie, brussel sprouts, the London broil, and finished it off with a slice of lemon rosemary cake. Chad was our server(the bar manager) and Jon, one of the owners, also helped us out. They had excellent customer service and their recommendations were spot on. The pretzels were made fresh and the dips, mustard and caramel, are both made in house. SO good. The charcuterie was equally delicious, and had two kinds of meat, two cheeses, jam, nuts, cheesy bread and fruit for only $ 13. The brussel sprouts were crisp and seasoned to perfection. The steak was also incredible and the chimichurri it was served with gave it the perfect balance. The cake was dense and the rosemary and lemon balanced each other out wonderfully. I seriously could not find anything wrong at all. Both the food and the service has made Slice my new go to restaurant! I can’t wait to go back.

I had lunch with my girlfriend here a couple days ago. We came in on a Friday and there was a huge group of people having lunch and some other smaller groups. We got to the register and I went with their grilled lettuce romaine salad and a cup of their french onion soup. My girlfriend went their the same soup and their potato salad. They both gave us a number and a cookie and we grabbed a booth. The food came out fairly fast. I though the grilled lettuce was okay. It came out topped with some Parmesan cheese, freshly cut tomatoes, and some bread. There was also a good amount of olive oil drizzled on. It was a little on the bland side but overall good. The bread it came with was stale though. The onion soup was also bland. Not sure if it was because we asked for it during lunch when they were still making it for dinner. They don’t normally have it for lunch. I had some of the potato salad which was good. They potatoes chucks were large. I thought it was well flavored and I liked that it didn’t contain a ton of mayo. For my salad and soup it was $ 17. Other items they carry include sandwiches, other salads, pretzels, pastas, and desserts. Their lunch menu is different from their dinner menu. I heard the french onion dip sandwich is the best thing there from the guy who works there. I want to come back and try it. All the people working behind the counter are nice. The guy who rung us up was very sweet and gave great recommendations. The inside of this place feels spacious, hipster, and clean. They have a cute little wine and beer bar. Were going to have to come back to drink.

Life is crazy, stressful, and at times hard. The Remedy? SLICEDELIANDCAKERY! I had the opportunity to come by and try The Riviera which is their French dip sandwich. Tender roasted prime rib was cooked perfectly and the horseradish sauce wasn’t at all overwhelming. My favorite part of the meal was the imperial au jus. Most of the time restaurants tend to go over the top and make it really salty. This au jus was perfect and well it has beer in it. enough said. The mac and cheese was a tad rich for my taste, but really good nevertheless. Make sure you share that with at least two other people. After a few beers and some good laughs with the staff, the owner(Nataly) was generous enough to offer us some coconut cake on the house. I do not crave sweets(not a sweets person, I’m sweet enough) like most do. But I can confidently say that I will order a slice of this cake every single time I come here. Fluffy, moist, and not super sweet! In conclusion Slice Deli and Cakery is a great escape from a bad day.

Amazing. I’m not usually a forks and knife sandwich eating person. But when I saw that they had the croque madame on the menu, I was sucked in. I’ve been wanting to try one and I’m glad that I had it here first. The bread was toasty and still crispy even with the layer of sauce and egg on top. The ham was nicely smoked that even a little piece between all the goodness was just enough burst through the bread, sauce, and egg and hit your taste buds with a happy dance. I loved it. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. To top it off! Free cookie! Oh. the cookie was just oh mah gah… crispy and warm and melts in your mouth. I wish I would’ve gotten more of that giant chocolate chip. Service was on point! Everyone was so nice and helpful.

This new spot is next to where I work so thought I’d check it out after finding it nearby on Unilocal.Very nice and open restaurant with some outdoor seating as well. Service is excellent as you should expect in a new place, but they were especially knowledgeable about their menu and recommendations. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with pasta salad for lunch. Wish I could’ve ordered a beer as the guys next to me at the bar did, but alas, had to head back to the office after. The Cuban was awesome: good portion of meat and cheese and very in balance. Didn’t love the mustard they used, but it was still good. The star of the Cuban for me though was the bread/roll that they use, which I was told they make in-house. Phenomenal! The right bread is crucial in any sandwich and there’s is awesome. Pasta salad was solid as well. Guy next to me had the pastrami sandwich which looked HUGE. Gotta try that one next time and I’m definitely coming back.

This place is AMAZING, everything is house-made===super fresh and tasty! We ordered a variety of sandwiches, The Mac and cheese, beer and cake, what more can one want!!! The«Bomb» Mi — porchetta(pork belly wrapped around tenderloin and covered in spices — I tasted coriander) with pickled carrots and daikon along with jalapeños, watercress, cilantro and garlic aioli. This was our favorite sandwich: spicy, tangy and salty. The Pastrami-Mami — super lean and tasty pastrami on rye with pickles, havarti, coleslaw and chocolate stout mustard(whole mustard seeds with a rich stout, fantastic!) The Donnie — great house-cured Italian meats with manchego cheese, red onions, romaine and the awesome stout mustard(also comes with olive tapenade but my daughter hates olives: I know, what’s wrong with her?) All the sandwiches come with choice of: pasta salad, German potato salad or house chips. The potato salad was our favorite – not too sweet, with some great bacon. THEYHAD A WONDERFULBEERSELECTION. Desert! We ordered the Blueberry-Coconut Cake and Lemon-Rosemary Cake. Both were a moist vanilla cake with incredible Swiss Meringue Butter cream frosting(which is way better than the usual american butter cream, much less sweet and a lot creamier). LEMON-ROSEMARYWASOURFAV! The service was awesome, they’ve only been open a couple of weeks and definitely want to get the word out! The owners John-Michael and Natalie both came by our table to get our opinions(mouths full, everything is delicious) and Jenny was extremely helpful when it came to ordering and was an awesome help all-around! This is our new hang-out, thanks to the great selection of beer and a wonderful menu!

I came here the other day because of hormones, as they were begging me to consume a frosted dessert. Recalling that Slice had been open, I got in my car and drove 39mph to the location. Upon entry, you’ll find that this is a very large establishment. They have a wide variety of craft beers including IPAs and the lighter variety. I’m pretty sure they had wine, not sure about hard liquor though. didn’t want to fall asleep so I didn’t partake in any. They also have an eclectic array of main dishes, from lamb and pork and other proteins, to sandwiches using unique ingredients from different countries. There’s a mac and cheese available!!! but it uses blue cheese on it, which I’m not a fan of. In terms of cake, they had a couple different ones: smores(chocolate base with marshmallow something/graham crackers somewhere), funfetti, vanilla cake with blueberries dispersed and coconut SMB(swissmeringuebuttercream), another chocolate one, red velvet with cream cheese, pumpkin spice, and maybe something else I don’t remember. They were very tall and weren’t heavily frosted. I actually inquired on the phone if their frosting was sweet. The response I got was that they use swiss meringue buttercream. AHHHHH!!! Jackpot! I love swiss meringue for its subtle sweetness, it’s pretty addictive IMO. It’s different from whipped cream but it allows you to eat frosting without feeling a sugar rush. I’ve made SMB before and it’s a bitch, so PROPS! to you guys for I guess having an industrial sized mixer lol I had decided on the vanilla cake slice($ 5) infused with blueberries and coconut SMB, as that’s something you don’t see everyday. The cake itself was quite vanilla-y, and it’s texture was fluffy and not dry. For some reason, it actually tasted better cold. Room temp was ok. The taste was very similar to Dorie Greenspan’s Perfect Party Cake, just fluffier. I felt like it wasn’t anything too special, maybe it was missing more blueberries? I had wished there was some sort of syrup or mousse, but alas. However, that won’t keep me from coming back. I will return and try the chocolate ones, as I know those won’t be overly sweet and I know the texture is good.
