This is a nice place to take your kids on a hot day. It is free, close to a play ground, a wide grassy field(to play soccer or tag or just run), and it has lots of trees for shade. It is also close to the library in case it starts raining but the kids are not ready to head home yet. There are benches and a pavillion but I’d bring a chair or picnic blanket in case they are full. The downside is that the toilets are not well maintained and don’t flush. We went to the library to use their bathrooms afterwards. The park is also close to the railroad but it’s not a big deal since one would assume you keep an eye on your kids anyway. :) Overall, we would go back to this park. It is free, closeby, and nice enough for those hot summer days.

It was smokin’ hot in our un-air conditioned west facing home, even with the blinds closed. My kid needed some activity, vitamin D and to cool off so I took him to the water pad at Aga Park in Fountain. Not a bad place. My kid was pretty happy about the whole thing. The best thing about it for me was, it’s FREE. Though, I did get a feeling of «this seems like a massive waste of water while we are in a serious drought». There are about one dozen«themed» water sprayers. A pelican that pukes water out on your little guy. A «crows nest» with a parrot on top that overflows with water. Some small buckets that fill up and dump water out at unexpected times. Continuous sprayers the kids can run through. Water canons. It’s not a water park, it’s a water pad within the park, and not very big. It’s a smaller neighborhood park, not a metro park. All the kids seemed to behave well and have a good time. I had a nice time chilling out, reading a book in the shade. If you’re planning on hanging out, bring your own lawn chair. Heck, bring your picnic basket and cooler. There is plenty of room. Also, there is a pavilion to rent right next to the water pad and bathroom facilities. I did not go into the bathroom, I had a bad feeling about it.
