We crept down dirt roads tentatively on our motorcycle to arrive here — an empty dirt parking lot awaited us. Excellent! A change from motorcycle boots to my vibrams occured, and then we hit the trail. There’s actually 2 trails, the ‘first one on the right’ has more stone features, the ‘second one on the right’ has a bit less. This was challenging for us, these trails climb and dive quite a bit. The trail is dirt but was very well marked and maintained(I’m almost allergic to *just looking* at poison ivy, and I spotted only 1 small plant on the trail). An amazing hike, with beautiful views!

Easy to find, once you’re in Fountain.(But finding Fountain is another matter entirely.) Either way, this tiny town boasts a beautiful park, replete with fascinating geological formations, botanical diversity and even historical significance. Certainly worth a few hours walk and a stop on a tour of Undiscovered Indiana. Note: The town is called«Fountain», but a lot of people seem to know the town itself as «Portland Arch».
