We crept down dirt roads tentatively on our motorcycle to arrive here — an empty dirt parking lot awaited us. Excellent!
A change from motorcycle boots to my vibrams occured, and then we hit the trail. There’s actually 2 trails, the ‘first one on the right’ has more stone features, the ‘second one on the right’ has a bit less.
This was challenging for us, these trails climb and dive quite a bit. The trail is dirt but was very well marked and maintained (I’m almost allergic to *just looking* at poison ivy, and I spotted only 1 small plant on the trail).
An amazing hike, with beautiful views!

Easy to find, once you’re in Fountain. (But finding Fountain is another matter entirely.) Either way, this tiny town boasts a beautiful park, replete with fascinating geological formations, botanical diversity and even historical significance. Certainly worth a few hours walk and a stop on a tour of Undiscovered Indiana.
Note: The town is called «Fountain», but a lot of people seem to know the town itself as «Portland Arch».
