Went for Lunch Yesterday, Ordered Swordfish. After we we had bread and drinks, Then soup, then salad, I was informed they were out of swordfish. Seriously? 20 minutes into the meal? I wasn’t presented with the menu again so I had to just toss out what I remembered, Shrimp scampi. Shrimp was cooked well but It came on top of a Mountain of rice. Waiter also brought the wrong combination plate for the wife. The Greek salad was excellent but I don’t really see what the appeal is to this place. I always give a place two tries, so maybe next time…

The food was okay. The one star is because our waitress added $ 2.00 to our 15% tip. We tried calling the restaurant during business hours and could not get through.

I don’t really recommend this place. I’m gonna share my story with all of you: I went to the place to see the rooms for my wedding. The first we spoke to a guy never mentioned that the rooms will rent separately, so I asked to him and he confirmed me that it was all included. After that we made an appointment with the person in charge of the rentals and planning KATERINA. She told me that it would be an extra charge for having both rooms. Well, my wedding is going to be this coming May so I don’t have to much time to make a decision, so I said it’s ok let’s do it, just please make sure that I’m going to have the rooms available for. Two days later, she called my fiancé to said that we won’t be able to use both rooms, because the owner don’t want to lose money the Saturday before Mother’s Day. I was like, Seriously? I already gave the deposit and we already order the invitations with the address. This woman was really impolite and said to me: ok what do you want me to do, if you can you can talk to the manager! This was a terrible experience. We lost our money on the initials invitations and we should hurry to find a new place! Please do not considered this place for any event. Two an half week later we are still waiting for the refund of the deposit.

This bad review is ONLY for the event planner, Katerina. She is unprofessional and not capable for the job. I had the worse time planning my event with her. She made poor recommendations, was not prepared, forgetful and not there on the day of the event. Because of her, I had to take care of things last minute and get stressed out. She couldn’t remember my name, every time we talked(which was quite often) I had to re-introduce myself even though I was the only event coming up. Twice I drove down to the restaurant(over 1 hr drive) so that I could walk out with nothing accomplished. I was very upset! I would never plan anything with her. I am surprised she still has a job! The only reason I kept my event in this restaurant is because I had already send the invitations to my guests, and restaurant has very good food. All my guests were happy with the food. I have dined here many times, and their menu is great.

I always love this Greek place. Interesting menu, great atmosphere, quality service. Regional Greek stuff and American basics too. A real plus in Metrowest Don’t miss it

It was very crowded and the food was just fine. We got the greek salad, fried cheese, lamb kabob and gyro dish. The chicken/rice/lemon soup was real good. The entrees were just ok, nothing special. The portions are huge. You have to wait a bit for your food, but it was busy so it was expected. The staff was friendly, our waiter comped us an entrée because of an error on one dish. Would be willing to go back, but maybe just for apps. You can get full quickly just eating apps and the entrees aren’t spectacular. Big parking lot, nice inside.

We usually had a good experience at Aegean food was always consistent and service was good but last night was a different story. We waited for 15 minutes to give our drink order. We had to find the hostess to find our waiter. Our waiter was brand new and didn’t have a clue about how to serve. We were understanding but felt sorry for the young guy fumble about while experienced waiters stood around and provided no guidance to this new waiter. The food was a big disappointment Horta was over salted and chicken gyro was dry and also over salted. We will not be back anytime soon

This is my go to Greek restaurant! Everything is fresh, service is great, and the food is devine! I’ve never had to wait for a table and I’ve been at various times. I’ve also done takeout a few times(you can call ahead and pickup at the bar!) Seriously no complaints! Everyone I’ve taken here has loved it! Their Greek salad dressing is my favorite!

First thing I noticed when we got there and squeezed into the booths is that I’m getting fat. These booths are super small. As for the food, it’s pretty good, but not great. Its not the greasy yummy stuff you buy from food trucks. It’s simple and relatively fresh. It’s safe food — nothing too spicy or offensive to anyone. I call it corporate food of franchise food. It’s meant to be sold to a broad audience. The wait staff were nice and the place was clean. I wouldn’t choose to eat there again, but wouldn’t fight it if someone chose it.

This Is not normally the type of restaurant I go to. We went there for a family event and really enjoyed the food. The service was quicker than any restaurant have eaten at in years. The only gripe is the size of the glasses the non-alcoholic beverages.

I’m honestly shocked how poorly a business meeting of 15 people was treated… As for positives– I’ve been here 4 or 5 times, the food is generally good. I usually get pastitsio(the Greek lasagna) and it’s good not great, or I get chicken skewers which are good. No beer on tap, only bottles which is not a deal breaker but unusual for a restaurant this size. We host a business dinner with colleagues here 3 – 5 times per year. I’ve also hosted trustee meetings for a non-profit here in the past. They have a private room that accommodates a large group. The service tonight, from the waitresses all the way up to the owner was atrocious. It is Tuesday night, generally not a peak night for restaurants. We had initially planned for 20 people at our meeting but 13 showed up. My colleague who organized the meeting had to miss it last minute because he was in the ER with his wife unexpectedly. From the moment we walked in the service was awkward. No one initially knew the room was booked as a «function» so when we ordered drinks the waitress put down my beer and handed me a check requesting immediate payment. We hadn’t even started with the bread yet! I asked if I could run a tab and she told me I could not, that I would be billed each drink and would have to pay immediately. My business partner was with me and when I asked the waitress to pay for both drinks on one tab she looked at me in disgust and reluctantly took my credit card for the first round. Fast forward to the end of the meal… The final round of drinks was paid for and I spoke up and asked about the tab for dinner. The waitress advised us that there was already a credit card on file to pay for the dinner. We tried to explain that our colleague who booked the room(and left his credit card to hold it) was missing due to a medical emergency and that we would each like to pay our share of the meal. Again, disgusted she stormed out to grab the other waitress who was serving us with her. This 2nd woman refused to take or payment, she said she had no intentions of splitting the bill. We collectively insisted that she not charge the card of the gentleman who was absent but she insisted that he booked it so he would have to pay. That is when she delivered the news that since 20 people didn’t show we were to be charged for 20 meals regardless. It is possibly this policy was explained to the gentleman who booked the room, but none of us were privy to this and under the circumstances they certainly could have made an exception. They booked it as a banquet so we were only given 3 pre-selected meal choices and we were charged an additional $ 175 for absent people. We asked to speak with a manager and one of my colleagues in the party politely took him aside to explain the situation but he was combative. I believe he also confirmed with the owner that they would not make any exception for us and we were to pay the additional $ 175 plus a forced gratuity(the gratuity is expected in this big of a party and was a fair number, but at the time it stung to pay gratuity on the extra $ 175 when we received such poor service from both waitresses. I’ve work for tips most of my younger life, they are earned with great service and these two were rude about drink orders and rude throughout the process.) This was a corporate dinner, and we asked from the start for separate checks which they originally told us they would do, we were under the impression that meant for everything but apparently that was just for drinks. I will make sure never to host a function here again, we are generally a group of 25 – 30, this was an unusually light showing. There are many options for restaurants in the area and they’ve lost our business.

This restaurant is consistently very good. Others have been complaining about their seafood… well guess what? This is a Greek place… specializing in GREEK food. Why are you even ordering seafood? If you’re gonna order calamari or swordfish, go to Legal Seafoods. I assume you order a burger or mac and cheese whenever you hit up a Mexican restaurant too? People are crazy. Anywho, I love the salad here. Their feta is so great. I’ve also had their Mousakka which is honestly out of this world. Their lunch combinations are a great deal… you can get half mousakka, spinach pie, a side of potatoes or pilaf, AND a greek salad. Very filling and delicious. They have a ton of other combination plates as well. My mom tried their stuffed grape leaves & spinach pie and really liked them both too. I once just ordered a simple Greek salad with grilled chicken and even that was soo good. Their kebob dinners are really good too — a bit pricy, but for all the sides/salad, I think worth it! Go at lunch time if you don’t want to spend a lot.

I had a great visit to the Aegean, as a destination for dinner with my mom. Their oil /feta and variety of breads made for a delightful start. My lamb souvlaki was beautifully prepared, and, though I did not expect gravy to arrive on my rice pilaf, it was a welcome addition. My mom was very pleased with her fish sampler special as well. We each ended up with leftovers that would prove to reheat very nicely. The only glitch was some minor confusion over who our server should have been. When we asked a passing waiter about it, and he realized that nobody had yet taken our meal order(after the bread had arrived promptly), he jumped on it, immediately handling everything himself, and sticking with us throughout our stay, even though I have no idea which part of the dining room he was actually serving that night. It’s a pleasure to see a small service lapse attentively and professionally turned around. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

This review is a long time coming. I went here in December of 2014. Ambiance: Big. This place should be used as a banquet hall. It works as a restaurant as well, but it has none of the coziness of a Greek Taverna. This is a matter of preference, and did not affect my rating. Drinks: I had a dirty martini. It was a good drink. Strong and briny as the bartender did not skimp on the vodka or the olive juice. Service: No complaints at all. Fast. Friendly. Polite. Food: The portions were large, and I don’t think anyone could leave this place hungry having eaten any of the entrees. The quality of the preparation however left a lot more to be desired. I ordered a gyro, and expected flavorful, moist, strips of spit roasted meat on a bed of Greek salad. The salad was not bad. I wish they would stop using iceberg lettuce as a base for all salads, but I think ingredient costs at such large establishments are a major issue. The quality of the meat is what dragged my review of this place down. My gyro consisted of small cubes of cooked to death pork. No succulence, no flavor from the spices. The only flavor I could taste was salt. My friend’s chicken was also dry and flavorless. I would love to see this place improve so that I can pop over for some Greek fare once in a while!

Surprised by the low ratings of this place. They gave us free pita with feta/oil dip and it was great. I also got the chicken and rice soup instead of the salad, and it came out steaming hot and very tasty. I got the traditional gyro platter for dinner with pork and lamb, and it was a huge serving. The rice pilaf was a little weird with some gravy? on top, but the meat was incredibly tender. I had a lot leftover. Didn’t seem like the most authentic kind of food, but still good. Service was excellent, my water was always refilled. Ambiance was also great– place was spacious, kind of reminded me of a nicer Cheesecake Factory.

The food continues to be very good at the Aegean. The salad with lobster is one of my favorite dishes as the salad is always fresh and the lobster is served quite generously. The home made dressing tops off any salad. The best dishes in the Aegean are the grilled chicken and lamb. I was somewhat disappointed that the Gyro sandwich now has more pork meat than lamb-but it was still very good! Some beer taps at the bar would be great too.

I am sorry to be critical but the food tasted like it came off a steam table. I ordered the Market Price swordfish, and it was dried out and tasteless, despite the fact that I had ordered it rare/medium rare. Definitely seemed to have been hanging around for a while. Others in the group had similar experiences. For example, the leg of lamb was a nasty gray color with gravy plopped on top — not very nice to look at. The salad served prior to the entrée was best characterized as tired. Wilted lettuce. I should say that the grape leaves appetizer was delicious, as was the Tzatziki/hummus appetizer board. Service was ho-hum too. We sat for a long time before anybody showed up to take drinks or apps order. THe place seems like a throwback to the old days of Anthony’s Pier 4 on the Boston Waterfront — big, really noisy, long waits, boring food. Sorry.

Service here was strangely conflicted on our most recent visit. We were promptly provided with their their lunch menu and a basket of two types of bread to eat slathered with their salty olive oil and feta cheese dip. We were not hurried along to make our selections, in fact we were given the option of trading in our accompanying salads with one of their 3 soups. To help us decide, we were even presented with two bowls of their lemon chicken soup to try — a favorite of the lemon lover among us. This was all good. Here begins the opposing side of the story. We had to ask for spoons to try the soup. My salad plate was the only one to arrive without the intentionally placed single cherry tomato. I made do with the remaining two cherry halves garnishing a now otherwise decimated appetizer plate. My fork was taken away with the salad plate, and no new fork arrived to take its place. At the same time, that same empty appetizer plate remained beside me even after the salad plates had been swept away. The food ranged a bit too. The Mussels $ 12 Fresh mussels sautéed in a white wine, garlic butter sauce were a good number to share and I enjoyed the flavorful garlic crostini that came with it. The Seafood Cakes $ 12 Seafood cakes made with shrimp, crab & scallops served on a bed of mesclun greens & cherry tomatoes, with a remoulade sauce on the side, numbered two but were really tasty with a nice crisp crust. The majority of the table opted for the same Lunch Combination for $ 9 — #6 Half Mousaka &(1) Spinach pie. I sampled the Mousaka, and I might have to have a go at this myself next time. Another DC selected the Traditional gyro plate* $ 10 Lightly seasoned lamb & pork served tzatziki spread, lettuce, onions & tomatoes. This looked pretty generous a pile of meat. The one who ordered the Chicken Kabob $ 16 Marinated chicken skewered between peppers, onions, tomatoes & mushrooms, had commented that the chicken was rather dry, and attempted to moisten it up with some of the generous portioned tzatziki which came on the gyro plate. The Aegean Seafood $ 16 Broiled haddock, sole, salmon, scallops & stuffed shrimp was given props for consisting of good quality ingredients though the salmon was deemed overcooked. For my meal, I had ordered the Lamb, Souvlaki* $ 15 Marinated pieces of lamb skewered with garlic, pepper, oregano & olive oil prepared medium with a side of their lemon potatoes. The chunks numbered 5 and weren’t exactly tender. Perhaps I should have gone with medium rare… The potatoes were a good choice, however. This visit scored a weakened 3 stars.

The Aegean is as good as it gets for Greek food in this area. And yes, I am Greek and have been to Greece(Athens, Sifnos, Paros, Santorini, Mykonos) and overall, the food at The Aegean is better than the food I had in Greece. For real! Service here is always excellent(and at their Watertown location, too). Their Lunch Menu and combination plates are among the best VALUES in the Metrowest area. Where else can you get a Greek salad and entrée, served with sides and starch for under $ 9? The food is ALWAYS fresh, always delicious. The ambience is nice, too. My only complaint is how early they close at night. I was once taken here on a date and we were the last people in the place at 9:00pm on a weekend. We felt pressured to leave so we left and went to The Cheesecake Factory for dessert. The clientele here is mostly over 50 years old, so there are times when it feels a bit geriatric. But overall it’s great. Other than that one negative experience, I’ve had a hundred more positive ones. RECOMMENDEDDISHES: Pastichio(Pastitsio), Moussaka, Stuffed Grape Leaves(the BEST anywhere!) and Roast Spring Lamb in red gravy. Galaktoboureko(dessert). Wow. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it…
