I have trusted European Engineering for over 30 years and I don’t know how many great cars. I have trusted them for superior maintenance at a fair price all those years as well. There isn’t a better car dealer and repair place in the world. Can’t think of any other business I feel so strongly about. Go see them. You will be helped by friendly, honest human beings who know cars inside and out.

Just to let everyone know… I don’t keep cars very long, so when I went to purchase my next vehicle, the obvious choice for me was to go back and see Dennis… My 2010 Audi A4 runs great. Thank you for the excellent customer service.

My husband and I had been test driving X3s all over New England. While the car at European Engineering wasn’t our top choice for color or milage, we decided to check it out since it was down the road from our house.
When we arrived, we met Tony, who let us take the car for a drive. I’ll agree with Katie that I much prefer when I can test drive without a sales guy int he car with me. It allows me the chance to enjoy the car and not focus on listening to someone babble. Once back at the dealership, Tony gave us a fair offer for our trade-​in and was completely no pressure when we said we wanted to think about it.
After a few days (and a few more visits to dealers), we realized that Tony had the best offer for us, so we went back to him & accepted the offer. No hassle, no waiting while someone «goes to talk to their manager» — straight forward and simple. It took all of 10 minutes to make the deal & complete the paperwork. Most dealerships, you can wait double that before someone even talks to you.
Tony & the rest of the staff that we met were fantastic. European Engineering is a simple, family-​owned business that will be honest & upfront with you. I have no doubt that I will be buying from them again.

Purchased a 2000 323Ci about a month ago. A week after I had the car, found out that there was a fault caliper (luckily was under warranty so I had them replace, was a $ 600 job) then they TOLD me that I had a broken oil level sender but didn’t fix. I assumed that this was a cheaper part so didn’t think twice but after a recent inspection by a reputable garage, this part is $ 170. Now they probably knew this but didn’t want to tell me. Also come to find out that I have a bad thermostat assembly which is another $ 112. So a month out and I am already in $ 300 in parts not including the few hundred dollars in labor. Very bad at communicating with you via email, phone, and even in person. Would not recommend.
Update 2 years later: I noticed that my front bumper was chipping extremely bad so I brought it to a paint shop because I have never had that issue. They told me someone probably resprayed the bumper. Carfax showed no sign of paint repair.

The only place I trust to get my BMW maintenance at a reasonable price. Incredibly knowledgeable about the inner workings of international cars, without demanding dealership prices. ONE OF THE ONLY HONEST PLACES I’VE FOUND.
A year ago, I had a check engine light come on and took the car here. They fixed the problem, gave me a heads up that the front brakes were coming to the end of their useful lives, and gave me advice of what needed to be done vs. what was nice to have at the 100,000 mile mark (their advice, surprisingly, wasn’t to do everything under the sun.)
So recently, when I got a quote of $ 1,000 to fix one frozen rear caliper (part of rear brakes) from a place on Brookline, I took my car to my trusted professional Tony at European Engineering for a second opinion. He fixed both rear calipers for less, and even took the time to show me what the heck a caliper was and how it worked with the rest of my brake system.
Have they proven that all car maintenance places aren’t going to rob you blind? Absolutely. And I love them for it!

My son bought a car from this place. They told him that the car never had the timing belt changed. First off, let me say this. If you are selling a car with approx. 95,000 miles on it shouldn’t you know one way or the other if the timing belt was changed or not? seems that would be a number one piece of info to bring to the bargaining table. For God sakes do what ever possible to track down the records for the buyer. They told my son they have serviced this vehicle and don’t have any records of timing belt info. So knowing it is a priority on this particular car my son hires a mechanic to change it soon after he buys it. The mechanic takes it all apart and finds a brand new belt without a mark on it. thanks for the unnecessary labor bill European Engineering. We will follow up with this and repost with any new info.

I just bought a car from this place and so far, I am very happy. Although I have had the car for one week, so maybe I will be back with another review. As to the sales experience I was pleasantly surprised. I have been to a few dealerships and most hover; most go out with you to test drive the car; most love silly small talk; and when it comes time to negotiate — insult you with lowball games.
Dennis gave me the car (a beemer) for me to test drive alone. Which I did. I took it out for an hour and one half with nary a word. When it came time to negotiate the trade in, although the price was on the low side, it was definitely fair (close to blue book value), up front. Without a ton of needless back and forth. I feel I got a fair price and the dealership got the new registration for me, new plates, and a new sticker. I picked up the car the next week with everything ready to go.
I get the feeling this is a small operation with at most 2 or 3 employees (including Dennis), accordingly he doesn’t have time for small talk and may not have time to treat people with tender loving care. This is also a luxury car place, so I can see him not putting the majority of his energy into a Subaru, although obviously he should do what he can to make things right. As for my car, well one week and all is well. No hidden surprises.
This is my first used car purchase ever and I was quite concerned. But I would buy one again after this experience.
Update, 1 year later no problems.

I will never buy a car from any used dealer again because of my experience here. The Salesman Dennis sold me a car. 2 days later the battery died and left me stranded. I brought it back to him the next day to tell him there was a burning smell and he checked the car out and after 2 hours of leaving me in a building by myself, I track him down and he finally says it’s a blown head gasket and that he will find a Subaru dealer to fix it under warranty and shoes me away. It is now over a month later and he has not once gotten back to me when he said he would, I have to email him multiple times to get a response which is always the same «I will get back to you». His last email revealed that he knew about the problem before he sold me the car. After calling the service center he said he would contact they said he had not contacted them. I checked the BBB website to find a complaint about Dishonest business practices. too late for me.
