Awful service. Awful food. I went in for a quick burger and fries and came out with the worst burger I’ve ever eaten. They used to cheese to cover up the burnt and extremely charred part of the burger, and gave me about 7 fries as my side. I’m not a super picky eater, but it was just so bad

Came in on a Thursday night. I ordered a Guinness. This is supposed to be an Irish pub right?! Wrong. The bartender started pouring a Guinness into a plastic cup, I stopped her and asked for a bud bottle. Later that night after being bumped into by 10 Fram state students I begged to get a Guinness IN A GLASS. The bartender was nice enough to oblige, however it was a single pour and tasted awful. Only come here if you’re absolutely desperate. I have also eaten here in the past and it is no Bueno. P. S. They play club music over a Patriots game.

Worst bar service in Framingham. No one pays attention in this place. Owner very rude and hung up when we called after our takeout order was all messed up for the 2nd time. Kitchen can’t even make a loaded baked potato because they«Don’t have the ingredients» really? C’mon guys, get it together.

Comfortable and friendly, with local flavor. Only had an appetizer and the calamari was good. Service was very good. Good selection of brews and plenty of bar seats. Make sure to go when RPS is playing. Their Jazz infused up tempo funk is not to be missed!

All the terrible reviews here are spot on. Lousy food(except for the steak tips). Terrible service. Rude bartenders/management/ownership… Seriously, this place is like the graveyard for mediocre(at best) food service personnel. I once sat next to a man who STUNK so bad I had to move to another seat. It was later pointed out to me by the bartender named Jen(who claims to be one of the owners) that he «puts in 40 hours a week in the kitchen.» Well, sweetheart, I, too, put in 40 hours a week at my job, with an hour commute each way, thankyouvermuch, and I manage to BATHE and groom myself. That she employs someone that nasty in the kitchen is reason enough to avoid this place. But there are plenty more reasons to avoid it… as stated in the beginning of this review.

I love O’Connell’s. It’s close and convenient to me. The food is typical bar food, it’s not going to knock your socks off, but it’s consistent, not terribly pricey, and they now have fried pickles which makes me immediately biased. The décor is a little all over the place, which the chandeliers just really nail home, but I think the slightly scattered atmosphere of the place makes me like it even more. I have always had good service and just enjoy the low key, mellow vibe there. A word of caution if you go here later on a weeknight that their kitchen can sometimes close early — so if you’re stopping by later for more than just a beer on your way home it’d be wise to call ahead and see if the kitchen is still serving.

Sorry to say I been coming here for a while and food was decent but every time I sit at the bar but service is inconsistent. If I sit down back it can take a while to get served.

We really enjoy this spot and go at least once a week! Amazing specials and the wings are the best in the area. Also love the dry rubbed wings, don’t see that too often. FIsh n Chips are spot on and huge beer selection.

I used to be a fan of this bar until recently. I was playing Keno and was ripped off by the bartender. This was the second time this had happened, although the first I let slide in case I had made a mistake. He gave me a ticket that was worth $ 10 less than what I had asked for, by not keying in the doubler. Both times he took the full $ 20. I confronted him when I realized and he pretended to not even remember selling me the ticket.

My boyfriends band plays here regularly. I don’t usually get food as they stop serving at 9 pm which is disappointing in itself. I did decide to eat food there once and I received the worst service. Appetizer was brought out at the same time as our meal. My meal, which I asked for with no tomatoes, was not surprisingly wrong. I asked 3x for a water and by the third time the waitress was so upset with me that she sent the«manager», who I saw taking IDs at the door, over to my table to ask me for my ID halfway through my meal. I ordered no alcoholic beverage nor did anyone else at my table and I was in the lower part of the place which is about as far away from the bar as you can get. I am well over 21 and I don’t mind being carded but when I simply asked why I had to show my ID to eat dinner, the«manager» proceed to yell at me saying I was being snappy with her and said those are the rules and I have to abide by them. I have never been so disrespected in a place that claims to be a family restaurant. I work in the food industry and I know what customers expect and it is NOT that. I will not be returning, even if my boyfriend does have a show there! Also, even though my wrap was wrong twice I still paid full price. What’s more, the waitress kept my credit card for my tables order and without asking charged everyone’s meal to my card when I asked for the bill.

Great drink specials but nothing special about the food. I’ve only tried the cobb salad but I wasn’t super impressed. I would stop in for a drink if I was in the area but maybe not make it a destination.

Bad food and bad service, if it wasn’t for the location and the weekend state university crowd they wouldn’t be in business!

I used to like this place but after my experience tonight I won’t be going back. I don’t know if they have a new cook or what is going on, but the sweet potato fries were awful… greasy and mushy and did not taste good. The chicken pesto sandwich was greasy and the pesto tasted rancid. My friend got steak tips and told me to try her mashed potatoes. They were so bland. How do you mess up mashed potatoes? Even with a pound of salt and butter, they still had no taste. She was given 3 or 4 steak tips and one of them was all fat and not edible. She told the waitress it was awful and she said she’d let the cook now and that was it. The spinach dip tasted ok, but not 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant, I had to quickly pull into the nearest plaza to find a bathroom. Let’s just say I am hungry again.

Seems like it has a lot of potential with its dual bars, but the place is dark, dirty, and poorly executed. The bartenders are nice and they do have a large selection of spirits but the place itself gives off a bad vibe and desperately needs a makeover.

Average place to grab a brew and a bite. Went downstairs for a bite after a round of golf on a weekend afternoon. Bar tender was extremely nice and got some great service. Upstairs is a great place to catch a game. Always draws nice crowds and it’s a nice atmosphere come playoffs.

Been going there a few months and have had nothing but good times. The food is good, the atmosphere is fun and the staff eager to help and suggest good food or drinks on the menu. This place has a lot to offer, a HUGE bar area, spacious dining area and a good sized function room. Other amenities include Keno, juke box, large TVs and a Golden Tee Live machine. The owners are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. It’s more like a large bar rather than a traditional small Irish pub. Bright and open as opposed to feeling closed in and crowded. I highly recommend this place, good for a meeting place or a large party, private or corporate. I understand they have live music on busier nights, a FSU shuttle that stops by regularly and a strict ID check policy.

This place is gross… if you have never left the bar then you don’t know how gross it is. The dining room below smells like stale beer and the booths are old and broken. My first time there they were still using the glasses from the Chinese restaurant it was before it became O’Connell’s. The downstairs has not been touched, weird to have Asian dragons in an Irish pub. Service was slow and the food was poor. No one else was in the dining area which does not surprise me, the bar was packed! If you want a drink this is probably a good place to go, but don’t go for dinner.

This place is great. Traditional American Bar food with a few Irish favorites. I have never had anything but great service before. The bartenders and waitresses are friendly and if you come in more than once or twice they quickly learn your name and favorites. Also there are great live bands and Saturday’s DJ brings a good mix of music, younger crowd, and never turns down a song request. Definitely a 5 star.
