RM Mechanical Services was truly a pleasure to work with, from start to finish. We overhauled our entire heating system and added central air to a very old house. What impressed me the most about Rick was that he treated my house like it was his own, and made suggestions thinking about our long-​term goals. This was especially impressive when his suggestions meant more work for him rather than taking the easy way out.
All the work was done in a timely manner and the process was explained to me each step of the way, with details about what was being done and what was next.

I found Rick via the site Home Adviser and I could not have been happier with the service that he provided us. We recently bought a house and, of course, within the first month the central air stops working. My husband and I are not particularly handy and were not looking forward to finding out what was wrong. After spending all morning calling HVAC contractors, I was delighted when Rick said that he could take a look at it the same day — he was even willing to accommodate our work schedules and struggle through the rush our commute to meet us after work. Rick immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem and he even took to the time to show us how we can perform routine maintenance on our own and was all in all quite knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Rick.

This morning my wife woke up and said that the house seemed unusually cold. At the time I really didn’t think much of it because our heating is on a timer. After I got out of the shower i noticed that the heat had been off for quite some time because it was like an ice box in the house. So i checked all the zones and the stove, (we have gas heat) the gas was working and the vents were freezing. Yes the heat is off. My wife through a referral had contacted Rick at RM Mechanical to add an additional zone of heat in our partially finished basement. He provided a very reasonable estimate and was knowledgeable about the work to be done and general state of our home. We were happy with Rick and he was scheduled to begin work later this week. I called Rick hoping that he would be able to come out on short notice to fix this emergency situation. I explained the situation and he told me what he thought might be the issue (he was right) but said that he could be over this early evening before the kids and my wife returned. He checked the pilot and showed me step by step what i could do in the event that it was to happen again. He replaced a coil that had been charred and had calcium build up, and told me where i could get another if needed. In five minutes we had heat. He checked the pilot several times before he declared it working and then stayed briefly to look over the work space for the job that he was to do Wednesday. Before he left i attempted to pay him for coming out in an emergency situation, he smiled and thanked me but WOULD NOT TAKE ANY MONEY AT ALL.
I am was very impressed with Rick’s concern of our issues (two kids and pregnant wife with no heat in the middle of the winter) and his professionalism. He will be back later this week to do the work we originally contacted him about, but i could not wait to write this review because tonight he was a life saver! That’s as good as it gets!
