Highly recommended through Facebook and did not disappoint. Ms Jackie is a very busy lady but worked quickly and my son’s first haircut was great!

Found this salon today by chance, my daughter was taken right in. the place was clean and kid friendly (books and tvs) as was the woman Who cut my daughters
daughter got a very nice haircut & the price was right too
They also had a very nice selection of bows and ribbons for girls.

I agree with Kristine M. I’ve been taking my 4 yo here since her very first haircut, always with Melissa. I was so sad to hear she’d gone. I took my daughter for a cut with the other stylist after Melissa left. The cut was fine, but it didn’t have that same beautiful fall that Melissa always accomplished. I now take my 4 yo to my stylist. However, my 9 mo is ready for her first haircut. Now I have to decide whether to take her here or try a new place…
Update — I had to up the previous score. I gave Jackie another try and we’re now back as regular customers. She has a lot of experience with wiggly kids and the setup is great. My oldest prefers her place to my stylist. I think this is a great choice for any aged child.

After taking our daughter here last weekend, we have resolved to stop wasting our time at the local big chain kids haircut place The folks who work at Styles and Smiles are nice and we got an appointment the same day. We had to come back later in the day, but that was easy enough. It’s busy on a Saturday, so call ahead for an appointment. They are so accommodating and friendly. I would use neither of those words to describe the services at the chain. We had been going there for over a year and just living with it — even though the staff was obviously disinterested and my daughter got the exact same haircut each time (no matter what I told the stylist). Styles and Smiles is friendlier and less expensive. My daughter’s hair looked adorable! We are sold.

Took my 15 month old to get his third haircut. Very experienced with kids. The two women who worked there blew bubbles, gave him animal crackers (after asking permission from the parent first), and kept him distracted long enough to cut and even layer his hair. Hair was still a little long around his ears but with him not really sitting still for them, I was very impressed with their level of skill with cutting a 15 month old boy’s hair.

After a year and a half, I’m not sure I’ll be returning. Melissa, the woman who had been cutting my son’s hair, no longer works there. There is only one other woman there now, and I find her to be unfriendly and somewhat terse. She cut my hair’s son once and even though she did a decent job, I didn’t feel particularly welcome.
I went back again anyway, without an appointment. They had always been really accommodating when it came to walk-​ins, but today the woman just seemed annoyed that we came in and refused to take us. (Even though the place was empty and it literally takes about 4 minutes to cut my son’s hair) I live in Newton and was already out in Framingham, so I went to Snip Its for the first time. It was more expensive, but it felt more welcoming than Styles and Smiles did the past 2 times.
I don’t know if I’ll go back to Styles and Smiles, unfortunately.

We went here after being continually disappointed by Snip-​Its. I didn’t even know this salon existed! The two ladies working were very nice and good with my daughters. The salon looks like a generic, somewhat run down salon, but the owners had put a lot of effort into decorating for Christmas and my kids liked the decorations. They also really liked the larger TV in the waiting area and the smaller TVs at each hair cutting station.
Both girls got good hair cuts, and they liked the bows that the stylists put in their hair once the cut was over. They also liked picking a «prize» out of the basket at the front desk.
We will definitely go back. The salon was cleaner than Snip-​Its, and the employees were much nicer AND they did much better haircuts. I’m sold!
