SAYCHEESE! This place is thee go to destination for your trip to Frankenmuth. Yes they are overpriced and decorations are a little cheesy… haha… None-the-less this place is a cheese lovers dream the ultimate destination for all things cheesy. They even have chocolate flavored cheese it comes in regular chocolate flavored and it comes in regular chocolate flavored and mint. also cheese spreads are to-die-for!!! I recommend getting the jalapeño or the garlic spread. When I was younger you be able to get samples of all the cheeses. Now you have to ask for them personally… and have somebody cut you a little piece the size of a thumbtack. They got cheap. And that kind of turned me off. SO I only buy what I can sample now.

Nice little shop that is a regular stop for us when in the area. I don’t know enough about the cheeses they have(11 year old cheddar?) being local or not and I don’t know if my palate is sensitive enough to tell the difference between the 10 and 11 year cheddar. My recent visit to Switzerland(a cheese lover paradise) has me wanting to stop by and take stock. Either way there is some local stuff and a LOT of touristy type stuff. They brand some nice mustards and dressings as their own and you can buy overpriced German labeled pickles, etc. if so inclined. Not a destination by itself but if you look hard enough you may find something off the beaten path.

You can’t not stop by into the Cheese Haus when you’re in Frankenmuth. You can’t say no to the mouse in the cheese slice statue! It gets a bit busy in there but what’s nice is that you can sample any of the cheeses. They also have samples of the cheese fudge as well as other cheese spreads. They do sell other kitchy things, but focus on the cheese people. It’s called the Cheese Haus! Lines can get a little crazy and the samples can be a bit empty but just ask and they refill. The staff is quite nice and helpful!

I am torn… three stars for the messy looking samples. Sometimes samples are empty, sometimes they look picked over… they would be better off just not putting them out. The spreadable cheese area always looks like children have been hanging out there. I would give this place 5 stars for the single-serving, take-out alcohol. Whenever we stay over in town, I like to stop here for room drinks. I would give them 1 star for all of the key rings, pins, and other cheap chotchkes with names on them… it always looks like a bad garage sale towards the back of the store and makes you feel like you can’t wait to get out of there. But then there is the Mouse/cheese photo op outside… we have been taking pictures there since my daughter was born and it wouldn’t be the same trip without it. I just wish they would renovate and class it up a little bit… it just feels icky in there.

I live about 2 hours from here and I would seriously drive here just to get the cheese spreads. They are so good! Love all their cool little gifts too. Must try their cheese spreads!

When I visit Frankenmuth, one of my must stops is the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus! What makes this quaint little jewel in the heart of Frankenmuth so special are their trinkets and creative novelties and not to mention their samples of sausage and cheese! I really love their summer sausage; jalapeño smoked cheese spread, and smoked bacon cheese spread. It was my first sample that got me hooked. Ever since then I crave the taste! One tip I would recommend would be for visitors to get a coupon book from the welcome center. Their is always a coupon for the Cheese Haus in there that offers a free gift after you spend so much. Last few times the gift was a cheese cutting board.

The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus is one of those places that you pretty much have to visit during your time in Frankenmuth. Even if its just for the free samples.

Cheese paradise. You can literally find anything here that is used in association with cheese or has cheese in it. I even tried a sample of strawberry cheese and it wasn’t the greatest, but it’s cool that you get the option. The free samples are awesome. Don’t forget to take a picture outside with the mouse!

Must Stop. They have a hidden gnome if you are doing the gnome hunt.(Go to visitors center for more info). Free tastes of all the cheese for sale, just ask. Must try the taco cheese — everyone lives it! Even those who don’t *love* cheese. There are many tasting stations in here, so look and try. Make a list and come back right before you leave town to keep your purchases fresh.(Bring a cooler or buy one) Be sure to grab a free coupon booklet at the Visitors Center — The Cheese Haus has a coupon for a free item with purchase. We scored a flexible cutting board mat. Finish with a Outdoor Photo Op with the Big Cheese!

This is a regular stop when we do our annual trips to Frankenmuth. You can sample just about every cheese they have. Who doesn’t like free samples! They have some really good goat cheeses(potato goat cheese)!!! They have some awesome cheese dips too! We have bought pretty much all the flavors :) There chocolate cheese sounds weird but they are actually good(in moderation!)

The Cheese Haus is regular stop when we visit Frankenmuth. A huge variety of cheeses. You name it, they probably have it. Heck, they have chocolate cheese, which at first sounds weird, but actually tastes really good. And as previously mentioned, samples galore of various cheeses, and cheese spreads and crackers. Definitely stop in when visiting Frankenmuth if you’re a connoisseur of cheeses.

I have been going here for years, I would normally give it a five star rating but the lady at the front desk acted so annoyed that she actually had to work that it gave four. It’s a fun place to visit you can try just about every cheese they have. And everybody likes free samples. We get the same thing every time potato goat cheese, and the bacon cheese dip with the crackers. This time we actually added summer sausage, and it’s the best summer sausage I ever tasted.

Great place to find some delicious cheese. Please note that this store doesn’t include all of the cheeses of the world, only the ones made locally or that have some Bavarian connection. The best part is that you can sample a lot and then decide. That’s a good thing because there are a lot of choices. They also sell wine and some meats(small selection) Sonya a great stop to pick up a few treats for a picnic.

Its a very tourist type place. But it does it well. They carry a bunch of different cheese. And they make so one off flavors like chocolate. But what made me fall in love was the different types of flavored pub cheese. You must pick some up to take home. they have drinks and chips and whatnot. make it on a stop while you are walking around.

Fun little place. Lots of different cheeses and they provide samples to. They even have a chocolate cheese which is a bit odd but you should definitely try it. If you’re looking for gifts they have those to. One of our favorites is the garlic cheese dip. We usually pick one up along with a summer sausage to take home.

Very good, interesting store. Lots of great cheeses and mustards available. The issue that i have is this: about ¾ of what you see in this store is not in any way German or Bavarian. It’s high-priced tourist foods, drinks, and signs. Seriously, can you find chocolate-peanut-butter cheese in Germany?

Cheese Haus is pretty great. As soon as you walk in there’s lots of samples and a bajillion different kinds of cheese. Not many of them are really legit types of cheese, but you can get just about any fun flavor ranging from dill to pizza to chocolate to chicken soup. We tried the mango fire cheese that another customer recommended and it was really interesting. Really sweet at first and then just super spicy. The service is what really sold me on Cheese Haus. The manager, Jerry, is awesome. He was nice enough to cut up a ton of cheese for us to try then escorted us to our own little check out line, gave us some quick advice on how to successfully run an elite money laundering ring then sent us on our way with some tasty cheese. He also did not let me make the horrible mistake of getting Monteray dill cheese when Havarti dill is clearly way better.

Wide variety of cheese curds, strawberry cheese & vanilla wafers, bacon cheese spread & bite sized crackers, Billy bee honey mustard & twisted pretzel rods. I wish this review could let you taste & smell the foods the Cheese Haus lets you sample. The Cheese Haus and it’s staff is always willing to open a cheese and let you sample it. This is a must stop when walking around the beautiful town of Frankenmuth. Our family loves to take Cheesy photos with the mouse on the giant block of cheese outside.
