Cute little café located on the main drag through town, but the service is terribly slow. The food is okay, nothing to rave about, but the ambiance is cute, with colorful murals on the walls and chalkboard menus hanging overhead, as well as some additional, out-of-the-way seating in back, where it’s much quieter and more relaxing than the front of the house. Nonetheless, the lines to order and pick up your food tend to bottleneck, serious miscommunication transpires and orders get screwed up. I’ve eaten here a few times now and if they’re at least half-full, then food and drink orders start to get screwed up and the staff gets bogged down, lost in the weeds. If they fixed that problem, it would be a lot better. At any rate, they make a good latte. My husband had a decent club sandwich, but halfway through eating, it started falling apart. The french fries were tasty enough, though, but probably frozen. The last time we stopped in here, I had a sandwich that was adequate, but utterly forgettable. Prices are what one would expect of any restaurant located in the Frankenmuth area– i.e. not as cheap as elsewhere for the same exact thing.

Although the employee behind the counter who took our order was exceedingly friendly and the place was very clean, the breakfast selection was very limited and not very good. The muffins tasted like they came from a warehouse and not from a bakery. For breakfast, they only offer a rather bland egg sandwich on a bagel, croissant, or a wheat tortilla. They had four types of coffee and lots of flavored creamers available. When I pumped a little of the light roast, I was served an 80/20% mixture of coffee and grounds. I moved over to the Italian roast pot and received a cup of lukewarm coffee. Both blends seemed very light to our taste. The two flavored coffees were also weak and watery. Their menu contains a good number of smoothies and an extensive list of sandwiches and hamburgers, but we were there in the morning and Unilocal lists this place as a breakfast restaurant. The coffee itself was disappointing. This is a big failure for a coffee house(Kaffee Haus). I don’t understand the overall 4-star rating.

It’s the first coffee house in alllll of Frankenmuth! The prices are reasonable but the menu is so big, the husband and I stood there and just looked like, ummm. Wow. The cashier gave us a brief history while we waited/looked. While we weren’t very hungry, we wanted something in our stomachs before we went wine tastings since we stayed overnight and had skipped breakfast at the hotel. So the Lady at the counter helped us. We ended up ordered the Fan favorite, since she said was large enough to split if we were looking to eat. Plus the place was right across the street from Funships which is where we were going. The fan favorite was made of turkey, it was large enough that we were both full, and it came with waffle fries which seemed like they were home made(i made fun that the it seemed like it was one potato because i could piece it together) It came with a Pop like a combo, but we wanted coffees so she gave us a coffee in place, and we ordered another, It was never ending coffee, and I put that to good use. The coffee quality was GREAT! and they had flavored creamers, and even syrups if you wanted to go that far. It’s important to note that the coffee bold and light roasts were imported also, i dont remember where the cashier said they were from. But wee spent 11 dollars total. Not bad.

I came here with my girlfriend at lunch time on a Monday and they were both busy and understaffed. Walking in through the back door is confusing. There’s a little lounge area with some chairs and tables, and then a hallway leading to the actual café area. I ordered The Downtowner(I think it was called) with fries and the female got a crispy chicken wrap. After about 15 minutes the food finally came out, and it was pretty good. For $ 8 I got what was a reasonably large club sandwich, fries, and a fountain drink(unsweetened tea). I thought it was fairly decent, but rather than just toasting the bread, it would have been quite a bit better if they had a grill(not sure they have one, maybe just due to a sheer lack of space) and grilled it and the meat so the inside wasn’t cold. The fries, although from the freezer(like the chicken strips are), were great. Seasoned waffle fries that were hot out of the fryer. After eating I got a London Fog. I hadn’t had one before, but I’ve always loved Earl Grey tea … well, a London Fog smells a lot like Fruit Loops cereal and tastes a bit like it as well. I don’t normally care for sweet drinks, but it was delicious. This is a quaint place that has a, I hate to demasculinize my already immasculine self(those are words, I swear), cute little place. The order menus are a little cramped together as the rest of the place is, but it’s nice place with some slightly more than decent food, tasty drinks, and friendly service. My only real fault with this place is that, again, they should have had another person working — the two women working had a lot on their plate.

My family and I decided to have a late lunch here based on the recommendation of the nice lady at the Wine Shop. I’ve been to Frankenmuth a few times over the years but I don’t recall ever dining here. It is a small eatery with seating spread throughout from the front to the back. This is the type of place where you seat yourself and you go up to the cashier to place and pay for your order(no table service). As a result, the prices are still fairly inexpensive. It sill has that old time mom-and-pop feel to it. I think that the art work on the walls is a nice creative and modern touch. One additional bonus is that they offer free wi-fi for patrons. Even though I was in the Kaffee House on a chilly day, I skipped the cup of joe and went straight for the Turkey Club Panini. I had asked for the Thai dressing on the side because I wasn’t sure that I would like it. Well, it came on the sandwich and not on the side. Much to my surprise, the thai dressing was good ergo my panini was delish. I would definitely order that again. My first experience here was a good one so I’d definitely come back. However, I’m still on the fence about whether or not to try the kaffee…

Yup, all I can say is I love this place. It will take me some time to get away from their Thai Taco Salad… that salad is unbelievably tasty and not too bad for your health.
