Not that good at all. Boring pizza with too much bread that is bland. Hungry Howies is in the area and is probably a better bet even though Hungry Howies is not that good either

FINALLY! I found a restaurant in Frankenmuth that I can truly say I like! I popped on on a Friday around 11:30 am and I was the only patron dining in, but you could see that they had several to go and delivery orders on the table. I perused the menu while he finished up with the UPS guy making a delivery and settled on a cheese bread and personal pan pizza w/Pepperoni, Ham, Mushroom, and Bacon(I first verified that they use fresh mushrooms because canned mushrooms have NO place on a proper pizza). With a bottle of Diet Coke it came to $ 16 and some change, but if you’re more budget minded I heard them mentioning some lunch deals for slices with a bag of chips. Anyway, when I got it and opened the boxes I could see right away that this was going to be yummy. The cheese bread had lots of thick melted cheese and the glisten of perfectly caramalized burnt edges and a visibly satisfying coat of Parmesan. The pizza crust was the perfect color and the toppings wee perfectly distributed and sizzling. Crunchy, crumbled bacon and ham slices with slightly browned edges. Mushrooms with just a hint of crisp to the edges. And the flavors matched. The side of marinara was excellent. Good spice and herb blend and still brightly tomato flavored. If I had to gripe about something, the only thing I could possibly say is that the cheese, while good, could be better. It either has a high moisture or high oil content and is almost too gooey. But even that complaint would be a stretch. As for atmosphere, it’s definitely geared towards delivery and to go orders and it’s unlikely that you’ll be bringing a date here for a romantic dinner(if you do, hey, I’m not judging), but there are a few tables so you can sit and have a quick lunch. It’s absolutely worth a visit and I’ll be back for sure.

Really a 3.5. Girlfriend’s dad ordered a large pizza with basically everything on it. Lazy Dog doesn’t skimp on toppings(seen in picture), and the pizza’s pretty good. It’s not greasy like some Detroit style pizzas, and has a pretty crispy crust. It just seems like the pizza’s missing something. Maybe a more flavorful cheese and sauce? I like Lazy Dog better than probably any national chain though. Next time I go back I’ll be trying their Southwestern(?) pizza… chicken, chipotle sauce, and tortilla chips(among other things)? Yes please. EDIT: Went and got the Southwestern Chicken pizza … really good. Upping rating to a 4 now. This time it was a round, and I didn’t like the crust — not really their fault, it’s just that at this point if the pizza isn’t cooked in a coal/wood/brick oven, I don’t like it as much. Only thing I’d recommend is that they do a swirl of the chipotle sauce over the top of the pizza to add more of that flavor to it.
