Had dinner here last night with my girlfriend and another couple. Only complaint is the size of the building… It’s TINY… But I heard a rumor that they will be relocating to a larger building. The food was great! My girlfriend had the Tin Roof Tacos and I had the Casa Burritos. Both dinners were good and filled us up. Our friends said that their meals were good too… Can’t remember what they ordered tho. Also the girls said that their margaritas were good too. I would definitely go here again. Our server was very friendly and helpful, food and drinks were great… Just too small of a building. Otherwise I’d give it 5 stars.

I often visit Poblano’s Cantina with my parents when I visit from Cincinnati, Ohio. Poblano’s doesn’t look like much from the street, but it is really good! I have eaten Mexican a lot back in Cincy recently and it has left me just wanting Poblano’s. I usually get enchiladas with queso on top — I have forgotten what they call this; but, you could really order anything and be happy. It’s always clean and the service is really friendly! I can’t wait to get back. ¡Gracias Poblano’s!

Stopped for lunch on a weekend, this place is tiny inside. We sat at a high top and had a great waiter, very attentive always making sure we had everything we needed. We tried taquitos, tacos, and chimichangas. Everything was great! Portions are awesome, 3 of us ate and took home leftovers for less than $ 50! I’ll for sure be going back. Don’t let the few negative reviews on here scare you off, this place isn’t the ritz Carlton, but the divey vibe is cool and the food is great!

Excellent food and service. I ordered the Santa Fe salad. It was packed with chicken, black beans, and corn. Their house dressing was a perfect compliment to the other robust flavors in the salad. The tortilla soup was amazing. The southwestern flavors were nicely blended and all there. We also ordered the Mexicali burrito. We had it deep fried and smothered in their green sauce. Their salsas are both spicy and full of flavor. I almost forgot to mention the amazing service. It was the icing on the cake. The staff was very knowledgable, efficient, and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Frankenmuth.

Finally, a Mexican place in the town of chicken. After many failed attempts I believe that this restaurant is the Mexican restaurant that will remain in Frankenmuth for awhile. There are not many available seats, but the service is fast, friendly, and amazing. The complimentary chips and salsa are to die for along with the stellar main courses that are simply outstanding for this small location in a town known only for its chicken. I will definetly return to Poblanos many many times as it is a great place for a family dinner or simply some drinks with friends. Amazing place overall with amazing service and good.

My experience: 1st time here. Read the reviews, seemed decent. Very rare to find good Mexican food in the tri cities. Walked into restaurant and there were no open seats(the place is extremely tiny) and there was no hostess stand. We walked up to bar and weren’t acknowledged. After a bit, I said hello to bartender and asked if it was ok to sit outside because all the tables were open. The bartender didn’t know and a rude server popped her head out and snarliery asked how many people. I said just 2 and she said ok, reluctantly. We seat ourselves outside and waitied 10 minutes before a server came to our table. When the server finally greeted us, she said she was upset that she had been chosen to wait on us outside due to an apparent bee problem. Food was ok. Tin roof tacos were great, however seemed like the food had been sitting awhile before being served(took 30 minutes for tacos and a quesidilla… beans had a crust on top and were not hot.) Server went MIA and we had to get up and get ourselves a box and ask to be cashed out. Will never be back.

When this place opened up in town, I was very excited to see Mexican restaurant! We desperately needed one in Frankenmuth. When I finally visited the place, I’m sad to say I was very disappointed. The service was terrible and my order was completely wrong. I have gone back twice since, hoping they would redeem themselves, but I’ve never gotten the order I’ve asked for. So folks, if you have allergies or special dietary needs, this place is not for you!

Decided to try something other than the chicken dinners in Frankenmuth, found this place on Unilocal & decided to try it out. Cute little restaurant with quick service & authentic Mexican music playing. You are served chips & salsa right away. I found the chips a little think & the salsa was a little spicy but very bland. I decided to order the Tin Roof Tacos based on other reviews on here. The portions you get here are worth the money but I was again disappointed in the blandness of the food. The beef tacos just didn’t have any flavor nor did the refried beans. I did think the Spanish rice was good & had good flavor. I’m such a fan of Mexican food so was disappointed that this place wasn’t as good as I expected… probably should have just gone with the chicken dinners.

It is so hard to find good Mexican food in Michigan. This place was awesome! I had the tin roof tacos and the queso… delicious! The tacos are deep fried and amazing.

Ok– so we tried this due to the 4.5 star review… not accurate at all. I would probably give it a 3 star– but we need to get this 4.5 star ranking outta here. Here’s a detailed review of why: Greeting– um, no– the bartender didn’t even look up at us and I finally had to ask if we could sit anywhere. Once we sat down it took for-evah for him to come over– and i ended up getting our own menus. Actually– I had to get up and get my own napkins and straws as well. Cleanliness– had to wipe my own table with a wet wipe from my purse. Food– chips– good, guac– pretty bad– I admit I’m a bit of a guac snob– but for like $ 6 for a tiny salsa bowl sized portion– skip it. Very one note, not seasoned well and certainly overpriced. Tacos– fish and chicken– pretty fantastic– 4 star, shrimp– bleh– only 1 – 2 stars.

My husband and I visited this place after a day of shopping around downtown. we wanted something off the beaten path and not the standard chicken dinner. We were thrilled with the food and the server was exceptional. From the outside it seems like there is no seating and although the dining room is small, both times we have visited there have been tables available. I am in love with the tin roof tacos and after raving about them my husband and mom got them on our return visit!

We had a great meal the other day. Fresh made — daily salsa, mild even had a kick to it, homemade tamales, great fish tacos. All very authentic. Nice quaint atmosphere.

Cleanliness…4 Food…5 Service…4 Price…3 Atmosphere…3 The new owners did a great job improving the place… It is a little pricey for the portion size but everything on the menu is a 10… Our favorite place to go when we need a quick easy dinner.

We went in not really that hungry so we decided to split some nachos. Wow were we glad we split some! Within a few minutes of us ordering a huge plate came out overflowing with nachos complete with queso cheese, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, beef, onions and sour cream. It was so good! We were barely able to finish it all. The waitress was very nice and kept our drinks and chips and salsa full at all times. Décor is very festive along with good drink specials. My only complaint is the place is too small! Almost every time I go in there there’s either no tables or only one left. They could easily expand into a bigger place! Overall, it is definitely better than its former el fuego, and will definitely be back!

The food was really tasty. The elote was super good. Everyone that ate said the same thing. The only problem I had was the portion size. For an $ 8 lunch burrito with a small side of rice and beans, the burrito should have been bigger than the size of a hot dog. And the guacamole portion was small as well. Other than that, I dug the décor and the taste of the food was outstanding.

What we got and shared: Tin roof tacos(w/chicken) dinner with a side of chipotle sauce. Carnitas tacos dinner. Queso blanco The building itself was smaller than I expected and since it was a nice day, we chose to sit outside. It’s not exactly in a gorgeous location… it’s right on Main Street in Frankenmuth, and there was some road work being done at the time. Alright the tin roof tacos… ridiculously good. The fried tortilla was awesome, the chicken was juicy deliciousness, and the chipotle sauce only upped it. The carnitas tacos were decent. Not much to say about them other than I probably wouldn’t get them again. They’d be better off in the fried taco shell, but for some reason Poblano’s won’t do tin roof tacos with carnitas. It’s just really messy eating them with a regular flour tortilla, and the flavor isn’t great either. Meh. Queso blanco was super tasty, but the price is just stuuupid. $ 4.49 for chips and like ¾ of a cup to a single cup of cheese? I’d still recommend getting it though because it was chock full of noms. The beans at Poblano’s are some of the worst I’ve had, but still edible. It’s just that they were completely void of any flavor. The rice was mediocre, but rice is easy to fix with a little bit of salsa. Which reminds me… the chips and salsa at Poblano’s are great as well. Unsalted chips are a plus for me, and the salsa was obviously made in-house and it showed. I’d love to revisit Poblano’s in the future. Tin roof tacos(at least with chicken) are incredible, the queso blanco is great, and the chips and salsa are well above average. The rice and beans are«eh» and I wouldn’t get the carnitas again, but Poblano’s is a place that’s easy to recommend if you want Mexican food and are in or around Frankenmuth. *I’ve decided to up this to five stars after three more visits… really a fantastic option in Frankenmuth. I always look forward to having it.

Formerly, «El Fuego» this restaurant has switched owners more than once in the past few years, and I think that if anyone has the chance to make it succeed, it’s the current owners. They’re quality-focused, and service oriented. All of their sauces, salsas, etc. are made in-house daily from what I understand. The fish tacos are great, the nachos are excellent, and the quesadillas were good too. They even have Mexican fried ice cream, which I haven’t tried yet, but it sounds delicious. We haven’t dined-in but have ordered take-out several times, and would recommend it highly. The reason I skimped out on one star is… I was hoping for a good taco salad: fresh ingredients in a big, crispy bowl, extra salsa and guacamole… yum! Theirs… was puny and a little sad frankly… but everything else was pretty good. Everything you’d expect from a good Mexican joint.
