Tried the burnt ends and brisket. Best I’ve ever had! They need more Michigan craft beers on tap!

I have always had a fantastic experience at Slo Bones. The wait staff is always pleasant, and the ownership is present and making sure their customers are satisfied. I love the addition of their specialty cocktails(Slo Sweet Tea and Slo Painful death are both delicious!) This time series I tried the burnt ends. Expertly prepared, unbelievable tender and flavorful. I will about that on previous occasions the meat has been a little dry, but it seems that they have really mastered their craft at this point. Much better now than it used to be. The live music is a huge plus. Worthy of a 5 star upgrade.

Easily the best BBQ in the state of Michigan. Subliminal sides, 100% perfect brisket and just top shelf food all around. Even the slaw is way better than average. It is easy to see why the line to get in was so long. Truly the best food in the Muth. Reasonbly priced nice new restaurant with great live music. Simply amazing food. BBQ so good, so tasty that you don’t need a sauce(Even though the sauces are very good too).

The food was okay I got the ribs, and they didn’t have that much flavor ! The fries and Mac and cheese was very good though, they ran out of burnt ends so we got the chicken wings instead! Over all okay would possibly go back.

Where to start! Best soul food place around, hands down. Cheap beers($ 1.25 for a PBR? Ok). Burnt ends are ALWAYS on point. Live music most weekends. One of my local favorites, but even if I had to travel, it would be worth it!

I’ve been here once and do not plan on returning. I am sensitive to spicy foods so when I asked the waiter if the food I was ordering was spicy and he said no, I would expect it to be that way. It was the complete opposite however. My husband even tried it and his eyes were watering and he loves spicy food. They should say on the menu if food is spicy or not. My husband had the ribs which were dry and seemingly old. Not good at all. Bring Sevin O’Brian’s back.

I had the brisket, she had the pulled pork, little guy had mac and cheese. Everything was good. Not great, but good. The sauces are hit and miss. The hottest sauce barely woke my tongue up. The Texas Tang was pretty good though. Place was empty on a Thursday afternoon(thought that wad a bit odd). A good alternative to more fried chicken!

The worst poor service being ignored by staff and awful food should have left from the start. Will never go back

This was our second time at slo’bones. And it was delicious! We ordered chicken strip dinner, which was fresh beer battered chicken. Hubby got burnt ends, and ribs. All of which were super good! Only complaint I have is the Mac n cheese could use a little more flavor. The live music was fun! Will go back for sure.

This place is probably the worst bbq house I’ve ever been to hands down. Service sucked Mac and cheese fried appetizer the worst. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich dry as the Sahara. Don’t waist your money. Trust me not worth it!!!

My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite on our way back up north and we are SO glad we did! I had a two meat platter(Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork) with a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup and she had a Smoked Turkey Club, all of which were very good. The Brisket especially was excellent, fork tender and just delicious. Our server Cadi was attentive and did an excellent job as well. I wish we lived closer so I could come here more often, but if you are looking for good BBQ and are in the area, I highly suggest stopping in for a bite.

Outstanding ! Had the meat trio of ribs, pulled pork and burnt ends. With ceaser salad and Mac and cheese with a couple German beers. More than enough food. Amber was our waitress and she did a fantastic job ! We will be back.

The food was terrible no smoke taste at all. Not to mention the ribs were very dry. Will never go back again. The food I smoke at home is by far better.

I judge a BBQ spot by it’s brisket. It was not good. Reheated, liver-like texture and a strong black pepper flavor. Service was very good for a busy night. The live music was very good as well. To me, sweet tea is a must in a place like this, and proper sweet tea… and ALOT! They gotta fix that. Good atmosphere. I’ll eat here when I’m in town and order the smoked chicken wings and the soup.

Slow service and the food was not very good the brisket was very dry I tried to put bbq sauce on it to drown out the dryness but did not work. I hope they improve over time. I love BBQ restaurants.

Food was great. Cornbread was great but the pulled pork taco Tuesday was even better. Decent craft beer selection and a full bar. Great food but they could use a little work on getting food out of the kitchen timely. Overall a good experience and a good change of pace to the normal Frankenmuth chicken dinner.

Had such high hopes for this Smokehaus ~ complete disappointment… Ribs were flavorless, brisket was as dry as shoe leather, chicken was dry and NEEDED bbq sauce. The waitress said how good the mac n cheese was ~ kraft mac n cheese is better?! Corn bread(or Johnny cake) was horrible and had a bad after taste… epic fail! On a positive note the fish & chips special was good(what’s wrong with this though? Good fish & chips at a bbq smokehaus)… too bad it wasnt the pork that was delicious? Price was a little high for the amount of food you got but not outragious. No return visits for us :(

When I heard a smokehouse opened up near me I knew I had to go. I grew up in the south so a good slow smoked brisket is something that excites me(LOL.) My husband and I went for lunch and we both had the 3 meat platter. It was rather pricey for the amount of meat you get. So that part was disappointing. However, their mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, brisket, chicken wings and Andouille sausage were pretty tasty. The brisket wasn’t the best I had, but they did have some amazing house sauces that really were yum and brought out the smoked flavor of the meat. Oh and lets not forget the sweet corn bread aka Johnny Cake. It was delish and I was sad when I reached the end of the basket! I’ve heard people raving about this place and the nightlife there. Maybe I’ll go ahead and check out some jazz bands. This used to be an Irish pub, you can feel a little bit of that inside as it seems Slo Bones is still remodeling.

Kind of really a 3.5 but being kind and rounding up because these reviews are ridiculously intolerable to this place for some reason. I came in with my girlfriend and her parents(HI!) at an «off» hour — 3:30ish — and they actually had a decent number of customers. I wound up getting their soup de jour, which was beer cheese soup with chicken, and the chicken sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the soup… I was irrationally scared it would possibly kill me just because the reviews for Slo Bones on this site are so awful, but I liked it and it was as advertised: beery, cheesy, and chicken… y. It was maybe a little salty, but soup in general is usually pretty salty, especially beer cheese soup. Slo Bones also gives you free cornbread bites for the table. I had four of them, but they’re really not all that good… they seemed really dry, and excessively sweet. Edible, but they’re about worth the price they cost. The chicken sandwich was good, but hard to eat because everything kept sliding around when I tried to take a bite… what I did to prevent this was basically just inhale the sandwich as quickly as possible. What disappointed me about it was the size… considering Bad Brad’s BBQ is my benchmark for BBQ(at least in Michigan), I compare every place to that, and this place doesn’t compare. $ 9.50 for a chicken sandwich and a few fries? I can get a sandwich almost twice the size for the same price at Brad’s! Still, I liked the sandwich, especially with their spicy BBQ sauce on it. The pricing at Slo Bones just needs some adjusting… especially their«extras» you can add to your order. Lettuce, bleu cheese, andouille sausage, and bacon all cost the same to add — 75 cents. Mostly any place I’ve been to in the past several years will generally have a free(or ‘peasant’) topping list, and then a «premium» one for stuff. Just a note to the owners if they ever happen to get to my review past all of the 1 and 2 star reviews. Slo Bones is good, but expensive for the amount of food they give — even though it was off the lunch menu, which usually slashes prices a little bit. I didn’t pay for my meal(THANKSTODD!), but I’d come here again and pay for myself without much issue. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely didn’t leave hungry, but for the eighty-fourth time, I do think either the pricing needs to be lowered or portions beefed up a bit. At the same time, this is a pretty good example of a place that can’t be judged based just on its Unilocal review.
