Wonderful meatloaf, mashed potatoes, lima beans, and cornbread. Quaint restaurant. Good service. Many other menu items.

Diner style, but they make a mean burger and fries. Lots of side options and I wish I had saved room for dessert, most were house made.

The burgers and fries are great. Great little lunch spot. Parking is limited though. The service depends on who’s waiting on you. If you can get it to go it’s better so you don’t walk around smelling like a burger joint the whole day though.

Stopped due to good reviews. Burger was good as was the meatloaf sandwich special. Milkshakes were tasty. Fried chicken sandwich was frozen and seemingly processed. True of onion rings too, frozen and not much taste. Ice tea was good as one would expect in Kentucky. Just ok and wouldn’t stop again.

Terrible food,(thankfully) small portions, terrible service, and food poisoning to boot. Keep driving. When I pointed out the meat served to my child was spoiled and that my meal was missing a side(which I was charged for), a woman behind the counter told me I was wrong, and did not deduct anything from the bill. Very rude. Keep driving. Just about any place in the vicinity is better.

LOVE this restaurant! I brought a group of approximately 20HUNGRY folks here during a long ride for our vintage moped rally & am STILL hearing about how great this place is! The food, staff, atmosphere, & prices are all on point. I had stopped here once before w/my significant other & his brother while scouting out our route & stops for the ride, & we really enjoyed it. I had pimento cheese on my burger this last time, & it was DELICIOUS!

Excellent burgers and fried potatoes. The portions are reasonable, and the kitchen was accommodating for special requests(grilled onions instead of raw and light malt in an extra thick chocolate shake). My friends said the chocolate malted shakes are super delicious, as well!

We had a great meal at Cliffside. We were in town visiting Buffalo Trace and wanted to grab dinner at a local joint before heading back to our b&b. Our Unilocaling friends didn’t steer us wrong in recommending Cliffside. The whole table ended up ordering burgers — the cheeseburger delux, which comes with lettuce, onions, dill pickle slices(long ones, not coins) and mayo. I asked them to grill my onions and hold the mayo… I’ve lived in Texas long enough to know mustard is the way to go for a perfect burger. My native-born Texan husband lost his mind and ordered it as is. Then he declared it Good with the mayo. When Hell freezes over you know who to blame. Anyway, the burger was greasy juicy, the grilled onions peppery and sweet. I’m guessing the patty is around ¼ lb. Not super large at all, and neither is the tender bun it’s served in.(BTW the bun is dairy free if you are allergic like my dining companion.) I had onion rings on the side. The batter is crunchy, like the crust on a crunchy fish fillet. The rings were crisp to bite into but not over cooked. Based on recommendations I ordered a chocolate malt to go with extra malt. Perfect! Thick(spoon and straw provided) and delicious. My husband ordered the same but with a request to go light on the malt — perfect for him as well. The shake was honestly too much for one person(12 oz cup) but order it anyway and just enjoy what you want. Our waitress was fantastic — answered a billion questions and gave great recommendations. In fact everyone in there was super friendly and even regulars weighed in with their opinions on what we should order. Just what you’d expect from a local joint.

Very cool location! Wide food selection, I’m a vegetarian and was even able to easily get them to modify the Chefs Salad for me(which was plenty big enough) as well as my meat eating counterparts. Kathy(I believe that was her name) is an adorable character and took great care of us. I wouldn’t call this place a «five star dining experience» but for a bite to eat in Frankfort or if you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with character, this is a fantastic stop.

Been eating at Cliffside since I was a kid! Their opened face roast beef and their chili cheese dogs are delicious! End your meal with a banana split and you will be in heaven!

I used to eat here all the time, but haven’t been back in several years. From what I understand, the business had a complete makeover. Food was alright. Nothing special or outstanding. I got the cheeseburger and fries. The burger itself was pretty dry. Fries were good, pretty crispy. I was full off of it. For the price, it’s not a bad deal. It was about $ 6 or so for it. There is a meal option, you get a drink for about 60 cents more. Got it to go, so can’t comment on the service.

I always enjoy going to «local» venues when I travel. I have to say what a little treasure of a diner. I had the Ruben with cucumber salad. Outstanding. My work partner had the«hot brown» and stated it was delicious.

I got the philly and fries, I work at the Capitol and this place sets right beside the garage. The service was fantastic and the pricing wasn’t bad. The food was delicious and it truly fit the diner feel. I look forward to becoming a regular although I hope they still call me sweetie by the end of my four months here instead of by my first name. Best Philly I’ve had in Ky! If you are in Frankfort stop by this true Diner and grab lunch!

One of the best burger and fries combo I’ve ever had. The burger was not densely packed together and moist. The fries were crispy and hot. Definitely having that again! Excellent service too. Everyone was so warm and inviting.

Small greasy spoon diner in historic Frankfort, Kentucky. Breakfast and dinner served all day. The Philly cheesesteak is just what the hangover Dr. ordered. Cheap food and friendly service.

I had a decent breakfast here. It’s not fancy .at all. But it was a filling decent breakfast. I had the combo breakfast with grilled pork tenderloin fried potatoes eggs and a biscuit. The waitress was very friendly as was the cook who came out to talk to us

Excellent service!!! The inside is cute! The bar stools are adorable. TV in the corner with the news. The cheeseburgers are to die for, a real treat with true southern potential. The chili in the chili cheese fries had real meat which I liked, however the quality of the chili was a little thinner than expected but made up for the amount of meat in it. The chocolate milkshake was thick and delicious. The ladies here are so sweet and are completely open to giving recommendations. I will definitely be returning! Great job Cliffside!!!

This place is a gem! We came in with 3 adults and 6 kids.(One adult visiting us from San Diego). We put the kids at the counter and we sat in a booth. The waitress was wonderfully kind, sweet and attentive. It was like we were her family and she was happy to see us. She took great care of the kids and made sure they had everything they needed. Between all of us, we had salads, cheeseburgers, fries, chili cheese fries, a BLT, country fried steak, rolls, cornbread and seriously the best sweet tea I’ve ever had. Everything tasted great and was very reasonably priced. Our food came out fast and was prepared perfectly! After the meal, we even stayed around and chatted a while with the employees. All of them were exceptionally kind and attentive. All in all, we had a GREAT experience for lunch. Our visitor absolutely loved it. We will be back anytime we are in the area! In this day and age of «hipster»(snooty) service and over-priced hamburgers, it’s so refreshing to have a great burger(that’s about ¼ the price of what you’d pay in Louisville) with great service. Thank you Cliffside!!!

Had lunch here yesterday with my wife and a friend. Wife and I got the burger special, burger(with cheese or not), side and drink for $ 6. Teh hand-pattied burgers were great, well seasoned, fresh and juicy. The fries on the other hand… The serving size was redicusously small on both of our plates.(And luke-warm at best.) I questioned our server about the portion size and she seemed to agree and took my plate to the cook. She returned and informed me that that there was no mistake, that is the standard portion. REALLY? Oh well. Our friend had the meatloaf with mashed taters(buds) and lima beans. It looked good and he cleaned his plate so I assume it was good. :) I will probably tryi next time I’m here.
