I am not a fan of this place. Let me explain… I’ve been here twice in the past few weeks. My first impression was positive. Nice location, basic charms, pretty busy café, tasty breakfast food. Both times, I noticed the noise level. Very, very loud in there! Hats to carry on any conversation… which may be good depending on who you are with. LOL I signed up for their reward card the first time but I didn’t have it with me the second time. They couldn’t even look up my card… either by email or phone number which are both requires to register. Good grief. Any and every place else can search for your reward card. Who can carry all of them? Bottom line, I’ll probably go again. Sometime. With someone I don’t really have much to chat. It won’t be my first choice. Closer to last.

4 stars for the food. 2 stars for the declining service. Took my kids there on Mother’s Day, & was disappointed at how slow & uninterested our service was. We were not in a rush, but first rule of thumb when waiting tables on a busy day is to offer water and coffee to buy time. A good hostess and fellow waitstaff will walk around to make sure all customers have beverages. I personally was disappointed in suggesting this place to my family when we could have gone anywhere. Luckily our food was good & I will return hoping our experience will not be repeated.

Love this place! Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast or lunch, the extensive menu has options for everyone. My favorite is the grilled cheese with bacon. The bread is delicious! I’ve never been disappointed by my breakfasts here, either. Only downside is that the staff is hit or miss. I’ve had some great ones that are friendly, but some are frazzled and borderline rude. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!

I have gone to this restaurant a few times. All three times were for breakfast. Each time the food was very good. The last time I had a taco skillet. It was amazing!!! I would love to give restaurant 5 stars, but the servers are not consistent. The last time I was there, our waitress took our order, never checked back, and we had to constantly ask for another napkin, a little more sour cream, etc. When we asked, the other person seemed annoyed. Plus, when we asked for a little more sour cream; we were charged and never told we were going to be charged. As a former server, some of the servers need to have a better personality.

We had breakfast here today. We had a party of 11 and we were impressed by the service and the food. We had different entrees and we’re all pleased with our meals. The menu has a wide variety of options for any palette. We will definitely come back!

Very consistent food. Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Try the lemon rice soup! The staff is very friendly and the food comes out quick. I enjoy sitting outside in the summer. Great location!

Delicious fresh veggies used in their omelets and skillets. Very nice atmosphere. Will mark this as a coffee shop to hit if I get anywhere within a 20 mile radius.

I have had breakfast here several times over the last few months the food is amazing. The crab Benedict is a favorite. The different versions of French toast is worth a roll of the dice! Try the breakfast hamburger with the fried egg a real winner. The staff and owner are the best always attentive and friendly it’s a top choice in the Frankfort area.

I’ve gone here multiple times. First few experiences were great. Last few experiences, I’ve noticed our waitresses were more and more rude. Most of them don’t say hello or make you feel welcomed. Seems like we are a bother to them no matter how pleasant or kind you try to be. Today was the last straw however. Our waitress was very stale and cold the entire time. We felt like we were doing her harm by being there. Not a good impression. Our waitress continually spilled coffee in the table, lukewarm coffee by the way, and never cleaned it or saying excuse me. I was cleaning right in her face at one point. Also, while my mother still was eating from one of her plates, a bus boy came over trying to take her plate! She had the fork resting on it(which was in her hand) and it was full of food! I understand the bus boys are quick and know to clean off plates, but that was an obvious sign of not being ready. It was very strange. That is more forgivable then the waitresses though. Other then that, this place is averaged priced for breakfast food. They have tasty breakfast options too. Very cramped and small however. On cold days, it’s not comfortable since the door is always blowing open and people are gathered waiting by it, allowing for more air to come in. The doors always jammed packed with people, near the cash register it’s crowded and people are jammed in the bathroom area. They need to expand, move locations, and get better waitresses.

This is our«go to» breakfast place. They have everything on their menu. The pot roast eggs Benedict is awesome. I wash it down with a carrot juice. My girls love their Lemmon rice soup. When I bring them luck to school, they ask for the soup from Cup of Joes. The staff is great too.

A bit pricey for breakfast, but the food was good and the portions were generous. Most breakfast entrees are about $ 9.99. So many menu selections. I had eggs, bacon and potato pancakes The potato pancakes were excellent and you could tell they were from scratch. My husband ordered the Asian Chicken sandwich and really liked it. The French fries are really good. We didn’t order coffee so I can say if it is good or not. It was very busy when we got there, but the service as good and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. Our waitress was nice and checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything. It does get cramped by the cash register with people paying and people waiting to be seated. Not much room, but there really isn’t anything you can do about that. Even though a little pricey, I will go back because the food was very good.

Food is great. Menu is large and accommodating. Portions are large. Pricing is comparable to other locals. I’ve visited more than a few times and find that the only downside is that there is one waitress that is slow and a little rude.

This is s neighborhood gem. This is our go to breakfast place consistently. The food is always amazing and service is great. My favorite is the caprese Benedict and my husband can’t get away from the corned beef hash skillet. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast place with a large selection of menu items.

Great breakfast food. The dining area is small and a bit cramped, but it could make for a fun experience. We made small talk with the table beside us and shared laughs. Overall, this a great place for breakfast.

More like 3−½ stars… we searched for a breakfast place with outdoor dining along our route to Lansing and came across Kup A Joe’s. With such a wide range of reviews, I was skeptical, but hubby said let’s go for it. As another reviewer mentioned, the only«special» coffee they had was a cold brewed coffee. When we asked what kind of coffee they had, our waitress replied«regular, decaf and probably some flavored coffee– but I just got in, so I don’t know what favors.» She then mentioned the cold brewed, and said it could be flavored, so we each ordered one… mine w/French vanilla. I was thinking it’s just coffee with a flavored creamer over ice. It was good, refreshing — but expensive!(And no free refills)…so what could be the reason it cost $ 3.95? It did have a dollop of whipped cream(the size of a quarter) on top. Hubby’s unflavored cold brewed coffee, no whipped cream, was $ 3.50. The food was good, no complaints there. There was a nice selection of skillets and omlets. They even have gluten free items, so it was great to be able to eat toast! The restaurant was comfortable, as was the large courtyard patio with umbrellas to keep the sun from beating down on you while you eat. The waitress wasn’t super friendly though… which is OK, but would have been nicer to be greeted with a smile. If I’m ever in the area again, I may go back. But would probably stop at Starbuck’s first and get my grande iced mocha for the same price. Don’t go To Kup A Joe’s for the coffee! Our bill came to $ 35– for 2 breakfast entrees and 3 cold– brewed coffees.

It’s all in the details. I ordered the potato pancakes with two lightly scrambled eggs, with ham. The pancakes were too well done and somebody missed the seasoning, especially the garlic. Eggs were hard, not soft as I had requested. Ham was very salty. I so wanted to like this place. Service was very good and the menu seems well packed with creative dishes. I’ll try again.

We enjoyed a great breakfast outside on the patio this past weekend. Food was great, chicken dumpling soup was piping hot and delicious. Service was prompt and steady.

BEWARE!!! I’ve never written a review but this place was so BAD I couldn’t stay quiet. I frequent all of the local restaurants so I know what regular prices are. TERRIBLESERVICE! HORRIBLYOVERPRICED! $ 18 for a cup of bad coffee and an Omelette. I asked for an explanation of my bill politely and the waitress was so rude she couldn’t be bothered so she sent over the owner. Who explained and sad sorry this is how you ordered it. So if I ordered it differently it would have been a different price??? REALNICE ! I WILLNEVERGOBACKTHERE!

Waitress put us right by the door and bathrooms, even though there were plenty other options. Outside the bathrooms smelled, and the day was windy so we kept getting cold air blown in. Our waitress was constantly in a rush, not very friendly and visibly upset when she brought the check but my husband wanted a tea after we were finished eating. In her defense it seemed like they were short staffed. The food did come out quickly, but was not as warm as it should’ve been. Tortilla soup was good but pretty sure it was made with the fake velveeta cheese, and hashBrowns obviously came From a frozen bag. Coffee was average. Pretty disappointed for downtown Frankfort.

Well we gave them another try. Waitress spilled hash browns on my lap and said nothing. Both fire exits blocked totally. Waitress appeared totally mad at something. Food was ok

Always have been a fan of this place. Typically go with my family on random Tuesday mornings. They have a solid breakfast and very good matzo ball soup. Not many places have that, so it is wonderful to get that here. The only reason it is not a 5 star review is due to the fact that it is not always as consistent. For example, we have gone in and had the same thing twice and it isn’t always the same as it was the time prior. Nonetheless, the owner is truly awesome and the waitresses are super sweet. As far as Frankfort is concerned, this place is my favorite breakfast by far. Don’t know if they are still doing it, but at one point they had cold coffee in a keg that was really good. Either way, Kup A Joe is doing things right. May be a little difficult to find in that plaza, but it is worth the time.

Tried this place out with hubby on Thursday am. First time there since it changed hands a few years back. Food was good. Met the owner, Jim, at the front who was fantastic! Waitress was very very efficient but maybe too much in a rush to be a little more friendly ?? Only three other tables there. We didn’t take it to heart and came back again on Sunday to a very crowded restaurant. Got the same waitress who was a smidgen better. Food came so quickly. We found a new favorite place. Love the rewards card and the menu options!

Kup of Joe is a fine breakfast spot. The only special thing they have is cold brewed coffee which was pretty good. Otherwise, the food was under seasoned, hash browns clearly came from a frozen food bag and corned beef hash came from a can. When I saw this place had an overall four star rating I was pretty excited, so I was disappointed to discover that the food is not exactly prepared from scratch. The service was good, but again nothing special. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again but if you do stop by, try the cold brewed coffee.

We just returned from brunch and we left with a better opinion. Pancakes were fantastic and bacon was delicious. Coffee tasted better than last time and the cold drip coffee now has an addict. Our same waitress(no name) still seems quite annoyed to be there. We can sympothize tho as it is Labor Day.

I feel it only makes sense to update my review since I clearly think it’s 5 star. I wouldn’t be here all the time if I didn’t. I refuse to eat breakfast or lunch anywhere else in Frankfort now. My Sunday breakfast partner knows not even to ask me where we are meeting. A few of my favorites are… Bacon and avocado skillet, all of the Benny’s, biscuits and gravy, all of the soups, Reuben… The list goes on and on. If you are anywhere in the area during breakfast and lunch you absolutely must stop here! I am at a point where I want to go twice a day.

Met my cuz here for breakfast, then we were going to hit the farmers market after. It is in a cute area of downtown Frankfort with a ton of other little shops and restaurants. We were here around 9am, and the place was maybe ½ full. We were seated immediately and service was friendly. They had a few special flavored coffees, so I gave the amaretto blend a shot. It was awful. It was just a very weak-weak-weak cup of coffee. This is what I judge breakfast places on, the coffee, which is most important to me. Really, the food here is 4 stars. So, if you don’t care about the coffee, come here to eat — the food is excellent. We both decided on the southwest omlet — which had jalepenos and chorizo, some veggies, and cheese. Very good and spicy. I think the food came out about 5 minutes after we ordered it. Crazy fast. The omlet came with hashbrowns or fruit, and pancakes or toast. I opted for an english muffin, which was an up-charge. We ate and then sat and talked for a while, and we weren’t rushed out or felt pressured to leave immediately. Cute little place, friendly service, good food, HORRIBLECOFFEE.
