Best bagels I’ve ever had. The service was great! The bagels are huge btw. You could eat one and skip lunch. I’m not sure what their schedule is though. I called around 7 and no one answered but they were open the last afternoon I walked past there.

Yummy little place for some doughnuts! Worth the trip. I need to update this because they no longer have doughnuts. I went and was very disappointed. The cookies had a funny after taste.

First so great to have Bakery Downtown! As they find their niche and customer feed back, they too will become like the previous owners. Still not exactly the same as this is 21st century! Just get the glazed donuts light, sweet, And fluffy!

I work near by Magees and saw the transition as it changed ownership a few years ago. The previous owners had been there a long time and had many regulars and where loved by many for good reason. The new owners brought a much needed fresh take on the bakery adding lots of new items and got rid of some of the old. I know many people didn’t like all the changes but that’s because many of them have a small town look on it. The new owners have modernized a lot and seem to appeal to a younger crowd. Notice all the good reviews are from people that are not from Frankfort. So I urge everyone to please give it a try or two before you form your opinion and please realize that yes it’s still a bakery and it has the same name but it’s a completely different place so you should have different expectations! Their bagels are great!

I’m so disappointed that the new owners have changed so much. They have sacrificed our wonderful bakery for lower calories and healthier pastries. My parents got their wedding cake there and people still talk about it 30 years later. I recently gave the place a chance with a pie and a cake and was very let down by the flavor and the texture. Angel food cake is not supposed to be heavy and tough, Coconut cream pie should have light flaky crust and it was thick and doughy. The man working the front was not very pleasant either. I hope they make some changes and stick to tradition. People dont go for doughnuts to keep their calorie intake down. They go for the flavor and the pleasure of eating them. Use the original recipes and keep the legacy alive!

Downtown Frankfort would appear deserted if it weren’t for Magees being open with a cheery storefront to greet us! They have Bagels, Donuts & Turnovers for breakfast and soups & sandwiches for lunch. Reasonably priced with several unique donut flavors warrants a quick visit to this establishment if you’re in town. Today’s donut options: Bourbon Ball, bourbon, Calipari Blueberry, Red Velvet cake, Peanut Butter Chocolate and then the usual glazed, chocolate covered and sprinkles.

We stopped here for a lunch date on a visit to Frankfort. I initially thought it might be connected to a bakery in Lexington with the same name, but we found out they are independent of one another. Staff was helpful, food was great. My wife and I ate for under $ 7.00! I had a bagel sandwich with chicken salad, a donut, and an Ale-8. My wife had a bagel with cream cheese and the same drink. Great stop for a snack.

I found this sweet little spot on a visit to Frankfort. Really small and quaint reminds me of how Charles Heitzman used to be. I really loved the chocolate and peanut butter muffin. Wait I almost forgot to mention delicious turnovers here. What can I say I’m a sucker for sweets! The staff was helpful and friendly. Will definitely stop here again when I’m in Frankfort.
