We had a bathroom remodeled by them, and we were not happy with the work they did. The company hired subcontractors who did shoddy work that kept having to be redone. One brought his 13 year son to help with the work and left him to do much of it. Workers would show up late, use tools and materials in the house which do not belong to them, and make a general mess of things(not the typical mess you’d expect either; things like hand prints on the furniture, grout hand prints on our glass door, etc, all that went uncleaned). We were asked twice to pay early to «help them make payroll». A job that they estimated should have taken 3 days, took 7 days and would have taken longer had we not gotten fed up and finally completed it ourselves. We were billed extra after the workers screwed up the materials and we were forced to purchase more. The worker tiling our bathroom never bothered to cover the bathtub drain, and a plumber was required to come later and unclog the dried grout that had got into our tub’s drain pipe. To this day, our baseboards still have areas that just weren’t done right and the trim in our shower remains reinstalled backwards with exposed nails. And as I mentioned before, we got fed up and just ended up sealing the tile ourselves and I’ll eventually go and fix the other things. We just wanted to be done with having to deal with them and to finally be able to take a shower in our own home several days after the estimated completion date. The owner of the company seems to be a genuinely nice man, and to be fair not all the subcontractors hired by him did poor work. The two guys who came and did the demolition of the old bathroom and put in the new floor and shower walls did do excellent work. But everything after that from the tile guy to the guys they sent over to reinstall the baseboard and trim work to the workers who reseated the fixtures completely forgotten about were less than stellar. The oversite and follow-up of the subcontractors was just not very good in our opinion. You shouldn’t have to wait until we call and complain about something to see that work is less than optimal. There should be some personal follow-up on the people you have out there working on your company’s behalf. Also, in our opinion, it’s VERY unprofessional to ask a client to fully pay for a service before it is completed, and this was done twice. Further, upon reading this review on Unilocal, the company actually had the nerve to deduce who we were and call and demand we change it. Again, that’s just NOTVERYPROFESSIONAL in our opinion. Still we have gone in and re-editied it to remove emotionally driven editorialization, reflect the facts, and to clearly differentiate fact from our opinions, but we WILLNOT take it down as asked. Maybe our experience was an isolated incident and not typical of what one should expect from NuDay. Everyone has to make up their own mind about the matter, and it is very possible that the poor experience we had is not reflective of the work they typically do. That being said, we’ve had much better experiences with other contractors in the past, and never has any of the other contractors we’ve ever used proven to be as much of a hassle to deal with, or ever asked us to do things that just seem unprofessional in our opinion. We will not use NuDay again.
