I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the local Papa John’s. When it’s good, it’s so good. The staff knows how to make a good pizza and the garlic butter sauce can’t be beat. Certain staff members recognize me and are always super pleasant and helpful. My daughter loves to stand at the counter and watch them make pizzas and they are always happy to entertain. But when it’s bad, it’s so bad. There have been times that we’ve been told a certain wait time only to arrive and find out that they don’t even have our order in the system. There are have been times I’ve watched the owner beg and cajole his own children into not bothering the customers or getting down from trying to climb up the window. There have been a couple of times that employees uttered cuss words over the phone when I placed my order. We keep going back because it’s affordable and convenient(located right near Walmart, so you can do some shopping and then pick up dinner). Certain staff members are just so wonderful that you don’t want to give up on the place. But, we have thrown a couple other places into the rotation more often, just to keep our options open. Papa John’s — you’re like a bad boyfriend that treats us so sweetly that we can’t wrap our head around the times you let us down.
