This is a great little spot in downtown Frankfort. The scones and baked goods are always delicious. I stop in for tea and baked goodies to go quite often. They offer a cute selection of gift items too. They have special literary events that are worth checking out.

What a lovely place! We had such a ball! My mother, daughter, and I planned an impromptu trip to the tea room, and we could not have been more pleased. We had a tea service(for the full one you usually need to order ahead, but they allowed us to do it because they are so sweet) and the food was so so so good. First they took us to the wall of tea, I have never seen so many varieties in my life! I chose vanilla chai, I can’t remember what mom chose and the little one had lemonade. They brought all out drinks in our own teapots with teacups, even the lemonade came that way so my little girl felt so fancy. She was having so much fun with etiquette and being a lady, it brought me a lot of joy to watch. Then the 3 layered tray of food came. One layer was all kinds of neat tea sandwiches. Some of them were really unique, in a wonderful way. The fig preserve sandwich was sooooo good! It was nice because there were such a variety of little things(one for each of us so there was no «but I didn’t get any» concern), some baked in pastry, some on a variety of rich breads. The second layer was scones, clotted cream, and jam.(Raspberry I think?) The scones were like sugary soft biscuits, and I’m in love with the clotted cream. My daughter, who is a picky 7-year-old, loved everything. She even tried kiwi, which was new for her! The third level was all really wonderful desserts. There were cookies, cupcakes, a small strawberry pie in a crispy amazing crust(maybe phyllo?), nothing was a disappointment on any tray but the top was all wow! We all remarked there are things there we previously did not like, but they were made so well we liked them there!(Mom ate rye bread and liked it, I ate strawberry pie and loved it, my daughter ate all kinds of new things happily!) The environment is really cool and fun, some cool things for shopping and even just looking at. I thought the ladies went above and beyond for us. I would highly recommend giving the tea room a chance to speak for itself. We will most assuredly be back!!!

Extremely Disappointed!!! I scouted this venue out for my bridal shower tea party. I came into the shop alone to take pictures and check it out before I brought my family in. I called in advance to let the staff know that I was interested in hosting a party at the location. I was very excited about booking this venue for my shower I liked the nostalgia of the tea room and wanted to taste the food before making a deposit. We showed up on a Sat morning we ordered tea sandwiches scones the works. The waitress answered most of the questions that we had however the owner was out of town so there were a lot of unanswered questions. Overall my entire group felt that the venue was not accommodating. Simple request were shot down… can we bring in our own table clothes? NO the owner will not want to change out the table cloths… can we put our table cloths over the original table cloths? No. the venue can provide other table cloths ok can we see them NO they are in storage. u get the point. there is a large table in the entry way that we wanted to use for a gift table. we were shut down yet again and told that the owner would not let us take decorations off of that table even it we agreed contractually to put everything back despite the fact that we were having a private party the space wouldn’t even b open to the public. We asked the waitress if we could speak with the manager keep in mind there weren’t that many other people in the tea room BUT we were told the manager was busy(to busy to speak with someone that’s interested in booking a private party) after some time she finally came over and basically said we would have to talk with the owner I provided my contact information needless to say I never received a call. Mayb they didn’t need a private 40 person party or they might not have wanted OUR business either way they burst My bubble because I wanted to have my bridal shower there… to bad they were unwilling to work with me or even bother to contact me to follow up on unanswered questions.

There is one woman in particular at the Tearoom who is incredibly rude and standoffish. She made my experience at the tearoom pretty miserable. I had an amazing waiter, though, who was very helpful and knowledgable about all the different teas. The sandwich I ordered was very expensive and seemed as though it was made from plain old deli meat. Underwhelming to say the least.

Pickwick is not so much eclectic as it is dirty(stained table cloths, cobwebs, and dust) «hodgepodge». I had a quiche that was mediocre. One thing they really lack is experience actually serving a table, ie: checking back after serving food/beverage, clearing plates, etc… We were the only customers there during our hour stay so you can draw your own conclusion as to the longevity of this business.

Contacted the owners via e-mail 4 days ago and still no response. The unprofessionalism continues.

This tea room is one of my favorite places in Frankfort and when they announced they were moving, I was completely nervous. What? Change? Moving? Yikes! Calm down tea aficionados and Little Women devotees, The Pickwick Society Tea Room is bigger and better than ever. It is now located at 122 Kansas in a building which housed a hotel in 1860 and just about every possible kind of business since. I frequented their previous location and am thrilled with their new one. There are three tables next to the window where you can sit, relax, have a cup of tea and just feel your blood pressure drop. Ahhh, if only all of life was so simple and delightful.

I was only here once, shortly after Christmas, and it was so completely wonderful, I can’t wait to find an excuse to go back. It is welcoming and homey, there are lots of tea options, the snacks were all equally delicious, and the staff were wonderful. The little gift shop had lots of temptingly cute items too, which a few people in my group did end up heading home with. That whole area is so quaint and so cute, and it is an absolutely perfect location for a place like Pickwick. Though I doubt you have to be a fan of Little Women to enjoy it, I am a huge fan of Little Women and loved the place even more as a result. We were in «Jo’s Garret» I believe, as each section is named after a character. I just couldn’t imagine a better theme for an establishment of this kind, in the neighborhood it’s in. I encourage anyone and everyone who has even the vaguest appreciation for a comforting cup of tea and some sweet treats to head to the Pickwick Society as soon as you can.
